Product Usage Instructions

Accessing the CLI

The DWL-2700AP can be accessed using Telnet. Follow these steps to access the CLI:

  1. Open the Command Prompt on the computer that will be used for configuration and management.

  2. Enter the command telnet <AP IP address>.
    For example, if the default IP address is 192.168.0.50, enter telnet 192.168.0.50.

  3. A login screen will appear. Enter the username asadmin and press Enter.

  4. No initial password is required, so press Enter again.

  5. You have successfully logged into the DWL-2700AP.

Using the CLI

The CLI provides several helpful features. To view the available commands, enter ? or help and press Enter.

If you enter a command without all its required parameters, the CLI will prompt you with a list of possible completions. For example, if you enter tftp, a screen will display all possible command completions for tftp.

When a command requires a variable or value that needs to be specified, the CLI will provide further information. For example, if you enter snmp authtrap, the missing value (enable/disable) will be displayed.

Command Syntax

The following symbols are used to describe command entries and specify values and arguments:

  • <>: Encloses a variable or value that must be specified. Example: set login <username>
  • []: Encloses a required value or set of required arguments. Example: get multi-authentication [index]

USING THE CLI

The DWL-2700AP can be accessed by Telnet. Using Microsoft Windows Operation system as example, open the Command Prompt on the computer that will be used for configuring and managing the AP and enter telnet and IP address of DWL- 2700AP in the first line. Using the default IP address as example, enter telnet 192.168.0.50 to cause the following screen to open:

There are a number of helpful features included in the CLI. Entering the “?” command and then pressing Enter will display a list of all of the top-level commands. The same information can also be displayed by entering “help”.

COMMAND SYNTAX
