Intended use
- The appliance is a wine refrigerator. It is intended for the storage and temperature control of wine. Only closed and still sealed bottles may be stored in the appliance. The appliance is intended for indoor use only.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and older, as well as by persons with diminished physical, sensory, or mental capacities or with a lack of experience and knowledge, providing they are supervised or have been taught how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the resulting risks. Children aged from 3 to 8 years are allowed to load and unload the appliance. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Technical description
The wine refrigerator comes in 17 models, see “Scope of delivery”, on page 15 and “Technical data”, on page 25. The model name of the wine refrigerator includes the following information:
Shelves
- The appliance is factory-fitted with detachable shelves for storing the bottles. You can increase the capacity by using the optional accessory of reinforced storage shelves.
- Depending on the model sliding shelves, presentation shelves, and service shelves are available (see “Scope of delivery
Temperature setting
- The temperature can be set in steps of 1 °C or 1 °F using sensor buttons. The temperature zones are chilled or heated automatically to reach or maintain the temperature that is set.
- A fan can be used for maintaining a constant inner climate, such as in a wine cellar (dynamic cooling mode).
- Some models have two separate adjustable temperature zones (see “Technical data”, on.
Features
All models of the wine refrigerator are equipped with:
- UV impervious door with a reversible hinge
- Automatic defrosting
- Sensor buttons
- Setting temperature display
- Storing temperature display
- °C/°F temperature display
- LED interior lighting with two operating modes
- Temperature memory function: The set temperature is saved when the unit is switched off.
- Temperature monitor: A warning signal sounds and the temperature display flashes if the interior temperature noticeably deviates from the one set
- Sabbath mode
- Temperature alarm system – visual and audible
- Door alarm system – audible

Mounting and connecting
WARNING!
- Instructions pertaining to the risk of death or serious injury!
- Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight or in the vicinity of strong heat sources (heating appliances, ovens, etc.).
- Only locate the appliance indoors, never outside.
- Check that the voltage specification on the type plate is the same as that of the power supply.
Installation site
- When selecting the location, observe the following instructions:
- The appliance should stand in the coldest part of the room, away from heat sources (ovens, heating devices, or radiators).
- The location must not be damp.
- The appliance must not be exposed to direct sunlight. This can damage the acrylic coating and lead to higher power consumption.
- The ground must be level and sufficiently stable to bear the appliance at full capacity.
- The appliance must be sufficiently ventilated. The ventilation slots on the front of the appliance must not be obstructed.
- Observe the installation dimensions, see technical data.
Unpacking
- Remove all the inner and outer packaging materials before setting up.
Ventilation
NOTICE!
- Ensure that the ventilation slots remain clear during the installation.
- Obstructed ventilation slots lead to increased power consumption and can damage the appliance.
- Note that model E7FG needs at least 30 mm of space on the rear side for ventilation (fig. 9 on.
Adjusting the feet
- Make sure the appliance is level by adjusting the feet (fig 11.
Reversing the door
- You can change the hinge of the door so that it opens to the left rather than the right. To reverse the door follow the steps in the mentioned figures:
- Reversing the door at E18FGB and E49FGB (fig 18., on to fig.,21 on
- Reversing the door at B29G and B68G (fig 22., onto fig 26 on
- Reversing the door at E7FG, E16FG, E28FG, E45FG, C20G, and C50G (fig 27 on to fig 34 on

Mounting the door handle
- Mount the door handle on the side opposite to the hinge. To get access to the bores partly lift off the sealing at the inside of the door (fig 10.
Adjusting the ventilation grille
- Adjust the height of the ventilation grill (fig 13 on.
Electrical connection
- NOTICE! Leave the appliance to stand upright for about 2 hours after transporting, before you connect it to the power supply.
- Otherwise, this could cause faults in the cooling system.
Observe the following when connecting the appliance:
- Connect the appliance to a circuit that is protected with 15 A.
- Check that the voltage specification on the type plate is the same as that of the power supply.
- Have the socket and power circuit checked by a qualified electrician to ensure that the socket is earthed correctly.
- Do not use an extension cable or a multiple power socket.
- The cable must rest securely behind the appliance and not be allowed to lie or hang unprotected.
- Ensure that the power cable is not jammed when pushing the appliance into place.
Integrating appliances
- All free-standing models may also be integrated either under a worktop between 820 mm and 890 mm in height or between other cabinets.
- If you integrate your wine refrigerator, observe the installation dimensions and ensure the door will open and close properly in the chosen location.
- Make sure your installation does not block the front ventilation grille.
- Note that model E7FG needs at least 30 mm of space on the rear side for ventilation (fig 9.
NOTICE!
- If the appliance is fully integrated behind a skirting board:
- Ensure that the ventilation openings in the skirting board have a cross-section of at least 300 cm2.
- Remove the ventilation grilles, so that warm air can disperse unhindered.
- Installing built-in models (E18FGB, E49FGB)
- Observe the installation dimensions (fig., 7 and fig., 8.
- The appliance is equipped with an integrated ventilation system to disperse the warm air automatically.
- Air intake is provided underneath the appliance door and the air escapes at the top of the door.
NOTICE!
- The air inlet and outlet must not be covered or blocked in any way.
- After installation make sure that the appliance door opens and closes properly.
Secure the appliance inside the cabinet:
- Open the door.
- Pop out the two cover caps on the opposite side of the hinge.
- Tighten the screws through the attachment bracket.
- Screw the attachment bracket to the inside of the cabinet to secure the appliance in the niche (fig 12 on

- Never use the appliance in rooms where flammable materials are stored or flammable gases have built up.
- Sparks from the motor could ignite them.
- Do not store any explosive substances, such as spray cans with propellants, in the appliance.
- Keep the keys out of the reach of children.
- Supervise children to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Do not operate the appliance if it is visibly damaged.

Before first use
NOTICE!
- Before you use the appliance for the first time:
- Clean the appliance inside and outside for hygienic reasons (see “Cleaning and maintenance”, on.
- Check that the operating voltage matches the mains voltage (see type plate).
Energy saving tips
- Do not open the appliance more often than necessary.
- Do not leave the door open for longer than necessary.
- Clean dust and dirt from the condenser at regular intervals.
Positioning the bottles
NOTICE!
- Only store wine in closed and still sealed bottles.
- Do not overload the appliance.
- Do not cover the shelves with aluminum foil or any other objects, as this obstructs air circulation.
- Be sure to use reinforced storage shelves (accessory) if you want to stack bottles.
NOTICE! For wine refrigerators with sliding shelves:
- Make sure that the door is fully open when you pull out the shelves on roller bearings. Otherwise, the door seal can be damaged.
- Do not put more than two layers of bottles on a sliding shelf (fig 5 ).
- Observe the allowed number of bottles depending on the shelf width (fig 5 ).
- For space-efficient storage note the given example (fig 4 on). The example refers to standard Bordeaux-type bottles (fig 6 on).
Operating elements and displays
Switching the appliance on and off
- Press the on/off button briefly.
- The appliance is switched on.
- Press the on/off button for at least 5 seconds.
- The appliance is switched off.
General settings
Setting the LED interior lighting (standard mode or vitrine mode)
- The LED interior lighting has two different modes:
- Standard mode: The interior is illuminated when the door is opened.
- Vitrine mode: The interior is illuminated constantly.
- Press the light button briefly.
- The lighting mode changes from standard mode to vitrine mode or vice-versa.
Setting the unit (°C or °F)
- You can select whether the temperature is displayed in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
- Press the light button for at least 5 seconds.
- The display shows the temperature in the other unit.
Switching to Sabbath mode
- In Sabbath mode, the display, interior lighting, and warning signal for the temperature monitor are deactivated.
- The refrigeration continues as usual.
- Press both the on/off button and the light button for at least 5 seconds.
- The temperature indicator flashes 4 times.
- The Sabbath mode is activated respectively deactivated.
- When the Sabbath mode is activated, it switches off automatically after 96 hours.
Settings for each temperature zone
- The temperature of each temperature zone can be set between 5 °C and 20 °C (41 °F and 68 °F).
- If your wine refrigerator has two temperature zones, there are up and down buttons for each zone (fig. 48 and, 49 ).
- In this case, make the following settings seperately for each zone by using the corresponding up button and down button .
NOTE:
- If the temperature zones are one above the other, the temperature for the lower zone must always be just as high or higher than the temperature for the upper zone.
- The appliance functions at its best if the difference in temperature between the two zones is at least 4 °C (39 °F).
Displaying the set temperature
NOTE:
- When using the appliance for the first time or if it has not been used for a long time, the inner temperature could differ from the one you have set.
- The temperature display flashes as long as this is the case. Once the set temperature has been reached, the temperature display lights up constantly.
- Press the up button or the down button briefly.
- The display shows the set temperature.
- After 5 seconds the display shows the current inner temperature again.
Setting the temperature
- Display the set temperature by briefly pressing the up button or the down button .
- Briefly press the up button to increase the temperature.
- Briefly press the down button to decrease the temperature.
- The display flashes while you make the setting.
- Once you have set the temperature, the display shows the current inner temperature again.
Switching the fan on/off (dynamic cooling mode or silent mode)
- The fan can be operated in two different modes:
- Silent mode: The fan runs only when required. It switches off when the set temperature is reached.
- Dynamic cooling mode: The fan runs permanently to regulate humidity and temperature. This way a homogeneous climate for the interior of a temperature zone is reached.
- Press the down button for at least 5 seconds.
- Five acoustic signals are emitted.
- The fan is switched to dynamic cooling mode.
- Press the up button for at least 5 seconds.
- Three acoustic signals are emitted.
- The fan is switched to silent mode.
Temperature monitoring
A warning signal sounds and the temperature display flashes in the following cases:
- the inner temperature of a zone deviates from the set temperature by more than 5 °C
- the power supply has been disconnected for a long time
- the door has not been shut properly
- the door is open for more than 60 seconds
- This prevents the temperature from falling or rising too much unnoticed, which could affect the quality of the wine.
- Once the unit has reached the set temperature, the warning signal stops and the temperature display stops flashing.
To switch off the warning signal prematurely:
- Press the on/off button briefly.
- The temperature display flashes until the set temperature is reached.
- The display is then illuminated constantly and indicates that the alarm system is active again.

Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING!
- Instructions pertaining to the risk of death or serious injury!
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains before cleaning and maintenance.
- If this appliance’s connection cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service, or a similarly qualified person to prevent safety hazards.
- This appliance may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Inadequate repairs may cause serious hazards.
- Should your appliance need to be repaired, please contact customer services.
NOTICE!
- Instructions pertaining to the risk of material damage!
- Never pull the plug out of the socket by the connection cable.
- Clean the appliance and disconnect it from the mains if it is empty and you will not need to use it for some time.
- Leave the door of the disconnected appliance open to avoid mold.
Cleaning the appliance
NOTICE!
- Never clean the appliance under running water or in dishwater.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these can damage the appliance.
- Make sure that the air inlet and outlet vents on the unit are free of any dirt so that heat from the interior can be released and the unit is not damaged.
- Regularly clean the appliance ( fig.15
- Empty the appliance.
- Switch off the appliance and disconnect the plug.
- Remove the shelves for optimum cleaning (fig 14 ).
- Wash the inside with a solution of warm water and baking powder. This should be about two tablespoons of baking powder to half a liter of water.
- Only wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth
- Wash the outside of the appliance with warm water and a mild detergent.
- Wipe it down with clean water and dry the surface with a cloth.
- Clean the shelves with mild detergent.
- Insert the shelves.
Procedure in the event of a power failure or if absent
Power Failure
- In case of a brief power failure avoid opening the door.
- The inner temperature will not be unduly affected, as long as the door is not opened too frequently.
- After a power cut or if the appliance has been switched off, wait 3 to 5 minutes before switching on the appliance again.
- If the power is off for a long time, carry out the appropriate action to protect the contents of your appliance.
Short periods of absence
- Leave the appliance operating if you are absent for less than 3 weeks.
Long periods of absence
- If you leave the appliance unused for several months, remove the contents.
- Switch off the unit and disconnect it from the power supply.
- Clean and dry the insides thoroughly.
- Leave the door ajar to prevent odors and mold from forming.
Checking the water level (humidity control)
If your appliance is equipped with a water tank, regularly check the water level and change the water (fig 16 ).
- Take out the water tank.
- Empty the water tank and clean it.
- Fill the water tank 2/3 full with water and place it on the grid on the top shelf.
- Make sure that the water tank is securely positioned on the grid so that it cannot tip over.
Replacing the active charcoal filter
If your appliance is equipped with an active charcoal filter, replace it with a new one once a year (fig 17 on):
- Turn the filter by 90° clockwise or anti-clockwise and remove it.
- Insert a new filter.
- Turn the filter 90° clockwise or anti-clockwise until it clicks into position.
Moving the appliance
WARNING!

- Move and set up the appliance by at least two people.
Warranty
- The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact your retailer or the manufacturer’s branch in your country (dometic.com/dealer).
- For repair and warranty processing, please include the following documents when you send in the device:
- a copy of the receipt with the purchasing date
- a reason for the claim or description of the fault
- The warranty covers manufacturing defects, materials, and parts. The warranty does not cover fading of the cover and wear and tear due to UV radiation, misuse, accidental damage, storm damage, or permanent, semi-permanent, or commercial use.
- It does not cover any resulting damage. Please contact your dealer for claims. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Storage
NOTICE! Material damage!
- • Store the wine refrigerator in a dry place when not in use.
- • Do not store the wine refrigerator wet.
- • Leave the door open ajar.
- • Always ensure good ventilation to avoid moisture.
Disposal
- Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible.
- If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to do this under the applicable disposal regulations.
Protect the environment!
- Do not dispose of any batteries with general household waste.
- Return defective or used batteries to your retailer or dispose of them at collection points.
