GETTING STARTED

Installation

Do NOT use pipe tape.

  1. Remove current fixed mount showerhead or handheld showerhead bracket from shower pipe leaving only the shower pipe. Remove any leftover pipe tape residue. Ensure that the washer from the old shower is not connected to the pipe. Use a thin utensil to check inside the pipe for washer such as a pencil or screw driver. Do not use your fingers.

  2. Remove large nut from diverter valve and remove pivot ball.
NOTE: The large nut and diverter valve have a left handed thread and loosen when the large nut is turned clockwise as viewed from the back of the diverter. (2)

  3. Place large nut over shower pipe with threaded end facing you (narrow end toward wall). (3)

  4. Thread pivot ball onto shower pipe and hand tighten clockwise to a snug fit. (4A) Use an adjustable wrench or pliers to tighten an additional ¼–½ turn. (4B) IMPORTANT: Do not over tighten.

  5. Attach the diverter valve by hand tightening the large nut to the threaded back of the diverter valve. (5)
NOTE: The large nut and diverter valve have a left handed thread and tighten when the large nut is turned clockwise as viewed from the front of the diverter.

  6. Hose Attachment to Diverter Valve:
Locate ridged hose connection end. Line up the notches on the diverter valve with the raised areas inside the hose nut and insert then turn ¼ turn to lock into place. (6A)
To Showerpik® Power Handle: Hand tighten hose end to the hose inlet on the back of the Showerpik® power handle. (6B)

  7. If showerhead or diverter valve becomes loose during use, retighten large nut as described in step 5.

  8. Attach your fixed mount showerhead or handheld showerhead bracket to the threads of the Showerpik® diverter just as the showerhead had previously been installed on the shower pipe.

NOTE : Showerhead attachments may vary from pictures above.
Adjusting angle of Showerpik® Bracket: The Showerpik® bracket angle can be adjusted up or down by rotating. Do not force. If bracket rotates down on its own, call Water Pik, Inc. customer service.

    • Refer to the Quick Start Guide for proper use instructions.
  • When Finished

    • Turn unit off.
  • Tip Cover

    • The tip cover fits over the top of the tip and snaps into place around the top of the power handle.
  • TIP USAGE

  • Pik Pocket™ Tip

    • The Pik Pocket™ tip is specifically designed to deliver water or anti-bacterial solutions deep into periodontal pockets.
    • To use the Pik Pocket™ tip, set the unit to the lowest pressure setting. Place the soft tip against a tooth at a 45-degree angle and gently place the tip under the gumline, into the pocket.
    • Turn the unit on and continue tracing along the gumline.
  • Tongue Cleaner Tip
To use the tongue cleaner tip, set to lowest pressure setting, place tip in the center/middle of your tongue about half way back and start the Water Flosser.
Pull forward with light pressure. Increase pressure as you prefer.

  • Orthodontic Tip
To use the orthodontic tip, gently glide tip along gumline, pausing briefly to lightly brush area between teeth and all around orthodontic bracket, before proceeding to the next tooth.

  • Toothbrush Tip
Place the toothbrush tip in mouth with the brush head on the tooth at the gumline. The toothbrush tip can be used with or without toothpaste. Turn the Water Flosser on so the water flows through the tip. Using a light pressure (bristles should not bend) massage the brush back and forth with very short strokes–much like you would with a manual toothbrush.

  • Water Flow Problems
    • If there is no water flow from the installed showerhead, confirm that the previous shower washer is not in the shower pipe, and confirm that there is only one washer in the pivot ball.
  • Leakage
    • If leakage occurs at pivot ball connection, confirm that only one washer is on top of the screen. If still leaking, grate a bar of soap across the shower pipe threads to seal.
  • Care and Cleaning of Diverter Valve
    • Clean filter screen (inside pivot ball – see product description, page 7) at least once a year or whenever you notice a drop in water pressure from your showerhead. To clean, remove diverter valve from large nut. Remove the pivot ball from the shower pipe and gently brush the filter screen, located in the pivot ball. You can also back flush the filter screen by holding the pivot ball under a running faucet with the small end (nonthreaded) up in the water stream. To replace showerhead, refer to installation instructions.
