Product Usage Instructions

Power On / Off
To power on the HC65 UHE flashlight, press the Power Button. To power off the flashlight, long press the Power Button when the light is on.

White Light
To activate the primary white light, short-press the Power Button when the light is on. To switch between different brightness levels, short-press the Power Button again. The available brightness levels are Ultralow, Turbo, Mid, and High. Double press the Power Button when the light is off to directly access the Turbo level.

Auxiliary Red Light
The HC65 UHE flashlight also features an auxiliary red light. To activate the auxiliary red light, long press the Power Button when the light is on. To switch between different brightness levels of the auxiliary red light, short- press the Power Button again. The available brightness levels are Low, Slow Flashing, SOS, and Beacon.

Lockout and Unlock
To lock the flashlight, long press both the Power Button and theMODE Button simultaneously for 2 seconds. The flashlight will be locked and cannot be turned on accidentally. To unlock the flashlight, long press both buttons again for 2 seconds.

Power Indication
To check the power level of the battery, short-press the Power Button when the light is off. The flashlight will indicate the remaining power level.

SOS / Beacon
To activate the SOS or Beacon mode, double-press the Power Button in any status.

  • Q: What is the battery life of the HC65 UHE flashlight?
    A: The battery life varies depending on the brightness level. At Turbo level, the battery lasts for approximately 2 hours. At Higher level, it lasts for approximately 5 hours. At High level, it lasts for approximately 14 hours. At Mid-level, it lasts for approximately 31 hours.

  • Q: How far can the HC65 UHE flashlight beam reach?
    A: The beam distance also varies depending on the brightness level. At Turbo level, the beam can reach up to 222 meters. At Higher level, it can reach up to 180 meters. At High level, it can reach up to 100 meters. At Mid level, it can reach up to 48 meters.

  • Q: Is the HC65 UHE flashlight waterproof?
    A: Yes, the HC65 UHE flashlight is waterproof and submersible up to 2 meters.

  • Q: Can I use any type of 18650 battery with the HC65 UHE flashlight?
    A: No, only specific types of 18650 batteries are compatible with the HC65 UHE flashlight. It is recommended to use the NITECORE NL1840HP (4,000mAh) Button Top 18650 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery with a discharge current over 8A. Flat Top 18650 batteries with a discharge current below 8A are also compatible.

Warning

  • This product is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. Please keep this product out of the reach of children.
  • CAUTION! Possible dangerous radiation! DO NOT stare directly into the light beam or shine the light directly into the eyes of anyone!
  • The product will generate massive heat during prolonged operation. Please exercise caution during use. It is recommended not to use high brightness levels for extended periods to prevent burns and product damage.
  • DO NOT cover the product or put it close to other objects, as this may cause damage to the product or accidents due to high temperatures.
  • DO NOT use the product to illuminate flammable or explosive materials, as the high heat may lead to combustion or explosion.
  • Please use the product in a standard manner to avoid accidents in the event of product failure.
  • DO NOT submerge the product into any liquid when it is hot. Doing so may cause irreparable damage to the light due to the difference of air pressure inside and outside of the tube.
  • When the product is placed in an enclosed or flammable environment such as a pocket or backpack, or when it is left unused for an extended period, please turn off the product and activate the Lockout Mode (or unscrew the battery cap) to avoid accidental activation and dangers caused by excessive heat. Alternatively, remove the battery to prevent damage from battery leakage.
  • DO NOT expose the product to temperatures above 60°C (140°F) for prolonged time, as this poses a risk of battery explosion or combustion.
  • Please recharge the product with the original charging cable to avoid shortening the lifespan of the battery.
  • Please recharge the product every 6 months when left unused for a prolonged time.
  • DO NOT disassemble or modify this product as doing so will cause damage to it and render the product warranty invalid. Please refer to the warranty section in the manual for complete warranty information.

Battery Safety

Improper use of the battery may result in severe battery damage or safety hazards such as combustion or explosion. DO NOT use the battery if its wrapper is damaged or if its discharge current does not match your product. DO NOT disassemble, puncture, cut, crush, incinerate or short-circuit the battery. DO NOT mix the batteries of different brands or types. If any leakage, abnormal odor, or deformation is noticed, stop using the battery immediately and dispose of it properly. Dispose of the device/batteries under applicable local laws and regulations.

Warranty Details

All NITECORE® products are warranted for quality. Any DOA / defective product can be exchanged for a replacement through a local distributor/dealer within 15 days of purchase. After that, all defective/malfunctioning NITECORE® products can be repaired free of charge within 60 months from the date of purchase. Beyond 60 months, a limited warranty applies, covering the cost of labor and maintenance, but not the cost of accessories or replacement parts.
The warranty will be nullified if

  1. the product(s) is/are broken down, reconstructed, and/or modified by unauthorized parties;
  2. the product(s) is/are damaged due to improper use. (e.g. reversed polarity installation)
  3. the product(s) is/are damaged due to battery leakage.

Charging Function

The HC65 UHE is equipped with an intelligent charging system. Please charge the battery before the first use.
Power Connection: As illustrated, uncap the charging port and use the USB cable to connect an external power supply (e.g. a USB adapter or other USB charging devices) to the charging port to begin the charging process. The charging time is approx. 2 hours. (Charged via the 5V/2A adapter)
Charging Indication: During the charging process, the power indicators will transition gradually from flashing to a steady light, one by one, displaying the battery level. When the battery is fully charged, the 4 power indicators will become steadily turned on. When fully charged, the standby time is approx. 12 months.

Battery Installation / Removal
As illustrated, after unscrewing the battery cap, insert/remove the battery and screw to tighten the tail cap. Please remove the insulation film before the first use.
Warnings:

  1. Ensure the battery is inserted with the negative end towards the battery cap. The product will not work if the battery is incorrectly inserted.
  2. When the power level is low, please stop using the product and recharge the battery as soon as possible to prevent damage.

Power Button / MODE Button

  • The Power Button is used for turning on / off the light and adjusting brightness levels.
  • The MODE Button is designed for switching light sources.

On / Off

  • When the light is off, long press the Power Button for 1 second to access MID.
  • When the light is on, long press the Power Button or the MODE Button for 1 second to turn it off.

Primary White Light

  • When the light is off, long press the Power Button for 1 second to access MID.
  • When the primary white light is on, short press the Power Button to cycle through the following brightness levels: MID – HIGH – HIGHER.
  • When the primary white light is on, double-press the Power Button to access TURBO. Short press the Power Button to return to the previous status

Auxiliary White Light

  • When the light is off, double-press the Power Button to access ULTRALOW.
  • When the auxiliary white light is on, short-press the Power Button to switch between ULTRALOW and LOW.

Auxiliary Red Light

  • When the light is off, long press the MODE Button for 1 second to access Red LOW.
  • When the auxiliary red light is on, short-press the Power Button to cycle through the following sequence: Red LOW, Red HIGH, and SLOW FLASHING

Light Sources Switching
When the light is on, short press the MODE Button to cycle through the following light sources: Primary White Light – Auxiliary White Light

  • Auxiliary Red Light.

Special Modes (SOS / BEACON)

  • When the headlamp is in any status, double-press the MODE Button to access SOS.
  • When either special mode is on, short press the Power Button to switch between SOS and BEACON. Double-press the MODE Button again to return to the previous status.

Lockout / Unlock

  • When the headlamp is off, long press both buttons for 2 seconds until the auxiliary white light flashes 3 times to indicate access to the Lockout Mode. In Lockout Mode, any brightness levels or special modes are unavailable, and the auxiliary white light will flash once to indicate this status when pressing either button.
  • When in the Lockout Mode, long press both buttons for 2 seconds again until ULTRALOW is activated to indicate the unlock status.
    Note : The headlamp will be automatically unlocked when charging or replacing the battery in the Lockout Mode.

Power Indication

  • When the light is off, short press the MODE Button, the corresponding power indicators will be on in turn and go off after 2 seconds.
    Note : The battery should be recharged or replaced when the output appears to be dim or the headlamp becomes unresponsive due to low power.

4 Constant-on 75% – 100%
3 Constant-on 50% – 75%
2 Constant on 25% – 50%
1 Constant on 0% – 25% (Please recharge or replace the battery as soon as

possible)
