Fitting set for joining all types of DEVI self limiting heating cables to heating cables

1 x crimp tube, type 3/1, L = 60 mm
3 x squeeze connection tube
1 x crimp tube, type 12/3, L = 40 mm
1 x crimp tube, type 12/3, L = 80 mm
1 Soldering Tin 1 meter
1 glass fiber tape, L = 60 mm
1 adhesive tape, L = 100 mm
1 crimp tube,type KYNAR 3/4, L =170 mm
1 x Tape TESA Black 15 mm x 10 meters for Screenwire
1 x Shrinktube 19/5 MC225KT Black with glue (40 mm)
Practical fitting instructions:
A temperature of 150ºC + 30ºC is necessary to crimp the tubes. A hot air gun
with a temperature control is the most effective tool. However, a blow torch
with a moderate flame can also be used or a gas lighter if nothing else is
available.

Preparation of the heating cable

Remove the outer sheath from the cable with a wire stripper.

Pull the screen back over the cable. Cut away 60 mm.

Cut away the conductor insulation with a knife.

Using side-cutting pliers, carefully cut away the inner layer of the material from between the two conductors without damaging them in theprocess.

Pull the conductors to the side and cut the inner layer away so that it flushes with the first layer of insulation.

The remaining material is loosened by twisting the conductors. Make sure that none of the earth wires are in contact with the conductors.

Cut away any remaining material and trim the tip of the conductors.

Mount the crimp tube 3/1, L = 15 mm onto the conductors.

Crimp the tubes.

Pull crimp tube, type 12/3. L = 20 mm over the cable so that it meets the outer sheath and protudes at least 5 mm over the inner layer of the material.

Crimp the tube.

Press the tube between the conductors with flat bit pliers until the glue becomes visible.
Assembling
- Pull the crimp tube 12/3, L = 80 mm over cable no. 2
- The conductors are joined together with the help of squeeze connection tubes.
- Warm the squeeze connection tubes until the tubes crimp and the glue flows.
- Place the crimp tube, type 12/3 over the joint in a central position.
- Pull the screen (from cable no.1) over the joint and secure it.
- Pull the screen (from cable no.2) over the joint and screen of cable no. 1. Secure the screen with the enclosed glass fiber tape.
- Place the soldering tube over the joint and crimp so that the tin solder flows out properly.
- Wrap 50 mm of adhesive tape around the outside sheath of the cable. Start approxiamately 30 mm inside and pull the tape over the joint.
- The outer end of the joint is taped in the same way.
- Place the crimp tube, type KYNAR 3/4, L = 170 mm centrally and crimp down. Make sure that the adhesive tape flows properly out over the entire joint.

Should you, against all expectations, experience a problem with your DEVI
product, you will find that Danfoss offers DEVIwarranty valid from the date of
purchase on the following conditions: During the warranty period Danfoss shall
offer a new comparable product or repair the product if the product is found
to be faulty by reason of defective design, materials or workmanship. The
repair or replacement.
The decision to either repair or replace will be solely at the discretion of
Danfoss. Danfoss shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental
damages including, but not limited to, damages to property or extra utility
expenses. No extension of the warranty period following repairs undertaken is
granted.
The warranty shall be valid only if the WARRANTY CERTIFICATE is completed
correctly and in accordance with the instructions, the fault is submitted to
theinstaller or the seller without undue delay and proof of purchase is
provided. Please note that the WARRANTY CERTIFICATE must be filled in, stamped
and signed by the authorized installer performing the installation
(Installation date must be indicated).
After the installation is performed, store and keep the WARRANTY CERTIFICATE
and purchase documents (invoice, receipt or similar) during the whole warranty
period.
DEVIwarranty shall not cover any damage caused by incorrect conditions of use,
incorrect installation or if installation has been carried out by non-
authorized electricians.
All work will be invoiced in full if Danfoss is required to inspect or repair
faults that have arisen as a result of any of the above. The DEVIwarranty
shall not extend to products which have not been paid in full. Danfoss will,
at all times, provide a rapid and effective response to all complaints and
inquiries from our customers.
The warranty explicitly excludes all claims exceeding the above conditions.
