DAB/DAB+/FM Portable Stereo Radio

- The i-box Airtime radio combines crystal clear DAB/DAB+/FM radio, with AUX In and Bluetooth connectivity giving you the opportunity to listen to your favourite radio stations or choose and play the tracks you most want to hear.
- The 3W twin stereo speakers provide great sound and the 1800mAh rechargeable battery makes it fully portable, allowing you to take the entertainment where its wanted and listen for up to 4hrs on a single charge.
- Important – Please read these instructions fully before installing or operating your radio.
- Do not expose to dripping or splashed fluids. Objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed close to the radio.
- Keep away from flame sources such as lighted candles.
- The unit should not be exposed to direct sunlight, very high or low temperature, moisture, vibrations, strong magnetic fields, high frequencies and dusty environments.
- Never attempt to insert wires, pins or other such objects into the vents or openings of the unit.
- Do not disassemble or modify the radio, there are no user serviceable parts.
- If the radio is damaged in anyway or malfunctions do not use. Consult a qualified service engineer.
- Do not use abrasives, benzene, thinner or other solvents to clean the surface of the unit.
- To clean, wipe with a clean soft cloth and a mild detergent solution.
- This product contains a built-in Li-ion battery. It must be used and charged properly. Improper use can cause the battery to catch fire or explode resulting in serious or fatal injury.
- Both the battery and the device should be disposed of appropriately. Do not dispose of this product with household waste at the end of its life cycle; hand it over to a collection centre for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances with batteries. Please check with your Local Authority for recycling advice.

Before getting started
Before setup or making connections please extend the antenna fully.
Charging the digital radio
- Fully charge before using the radio. Use the USB C cable (supplied) to connect the Airtime radio to a powered USB port with a 5V = 1A output.
- The battery icon in the top corner of the LCD screen will display the current remaining charge of the built in battery.
Powering on your DAB Radio
- To turn on the radio, slide the Off/On switch to the ‘On’ Position. See below.
- On first start up, the radio will automatically scan for all available DAB stations which will be added to the station list. Also the time and date will automatically be set .
Standby Mode
To enter Standby Mode, press the Volume/Standby (14) control. Press the
control again to turn the radio back on.
Mode Selection
Press the Mode key (6) to cycle between available modes. Choose between FM
Radio, DAB Radio, AUX IN and Bluetooth.
Navigating Menus
- Long Press Menu (7) to enter the menus. To navigate the menus, use the keys (9 or 11), or the
- Select/Snooze control (5) to scroll through the menus. Press the Select/Snooze control (5) to enter a menu, and use the key (13) to go back a level.
DAB Radio Mode
Press the Mode key to enter DAB mode.
Station List
- Use the keys (9 or 11) or the Select/Snooze (5) control to browse all the available DAB stations.
- The selected station will automatically connect and play. For FM mode, follow the same instructions.
Volume Adjustment
Use the Volume/Standby control to adjust the volume on radio.
Storing a Station to Preset
Save your favourite stations to one of the 30 available preset slots.
Playing a Preset Station
- Quickly access your favourite stations saved to a preset slot.
- You can use the Preset 1-4 keys (1,2,3 or 4) to instantly select the stations in the first four presets.
DAB Menu Options
While in DAB mode, you can access features such as: Full Scan, Manual Tune,
DRC (Dynamic Range Control), Prune and System.
Full Scan (Automatic Search)
Searches all DAB frequencies, and saves all available stations to the Station
List.
Manual Tune
If you know the frequency of a station you can search for it using this
option.
DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
Dynamic Range Control can make quieter sounds easier to hear when your radio is used in a noisy environment. This function is only available for some DAB stations.

Prune
This function removes any stations that are listed but not available. -
System
- DAB system menu settings. The system menu settings is available in all modes.

Manual Clock Setting
- The time will be set up automatically when the device has received a DAB or FM signal.
- To manually set the Time and Date, follow the steps below.

The default is English. There are currently three other languages available: Deutsch (German), Italiano (Italian), and Francais (France). -
Backlight
Choose between Timeout, On Level, Dim Level.
Choose from: On, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 and 180 seconds.
Factory Reset
Resets your Airtime radio to factory default settings. This will delete any presets or alarm settings.
Software Version
See the software version FM Mode
Press the Mode key (6) to enter FM radio mode.
Auto Scan Manual Search
If you know the frequency of a radio station you can manual search for it by
using the keys (9 or 11) or the Select/Snooze control (5).
Scan setting
- By default the FM scan stores all available stations even if the signal is weak and the audio quality poor.
- To store just the stations with a strong signal. follow the steps below.
Audio setting
- By default all stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak signals, this may result in poor quality audio.
- The audio quality can be improved by using the mono only setting. Follow the steps below.
Radio Station Information
- The radio has DAB and FM information modes which are shown on the bottom line of the display.
- Short press the Menu key to see the available information.

Preset FM Mode
To save and recall a preset station while in FM Radio mode, follow the steps found in the DAB preset section on page 6. -
System
(FM system settings): Same as the DAB mode system settings. -
Wireless Connection Mode
- The Airtime radio has a Wireless mode, press the Mode key (6) to enter Wireless (bt) mode.
- If no device is connected, the radio will automatically enter pairing mode, the screen will flash to show the radio is ready to pair.
Pairing with Bluetooth Enabled Devices
- To connect a compatible Bluetooth device, follow the steps below.
- When successfully connected to a compatible device, the radio will display ‘BT Connected’.
- You don’t need to re-pair. Your radio will automatically reconnect with this device when it is in range and both are turned on.
Bluetooth Playback
Press and hold the Preset Menu key (12) to disconnect from the currently
connected Bluetooth device.
AUX In mode
- The Airtime has an AUX IN mode, press the Mode key (6) to enter AUX IN mode. Connect the AUX IN cable to the AUX port (22) on the Airtime and to the AUX out port on a compatible device.
- The volume can be controlled using the radio. Use the connected device to make all other adjustments.
Headphone Mode
- The volume can be controlled using the radio. Use the connected device to make all other adjustments.
- The Airtime radio also has support for headphone listening, allowing you to play your music without disturbing others. To use headphones, connect a pair of compatible 3.5mm jack headphones to the headphone port (21) to the back of the radio.
- Excessive sound pressure from headphones can cause hearing loss.
- The speaker will not operate when headphones are used.
Alarm Set up
The radio allows you to set two independent alarms, to set up an alarm follow the steps below.
DAB and FM wilt use the last played station or one the presets for the source for the alarm sound.
