Safety Notes

  • The product is intended for private, non-commercial useonly.
  • Use the product for its intended purpose only.
  • Protect the product from dirt, moistureand overheating,and only use it in adry environment.
  • Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  • Keep this product, as allelectrical products, out of thereach of children!
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
  • Do not use the product in areas wherethe use of electronic devices is not permitted.
  • Do not use the product in moist environments and avoid splashes.
  • Do not place the product near interference fields, metal frames, computers, TVs, etc. Electronic devices and window frames can negatively affect the product’sfunctionality.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Do not modify theproduct in any way.Doing so voids the warranty.

Warning –Batteries

  • When inserting batteries, note the correctpolarity (+and -markings) and insert the batteries accordingly.Failure to do so could result in thebatteries leaking or exploding.
  • Only use batteries that match the specified type.Keep the instructions for the correct choice of batteries included withthe operating instructions of devices safe for future reference.
  • Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polarity contacts.
  • Do not allow children to changebatteries without supervision.
  • Replace allthe batteries in aset at the same time.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types or from different manufacturers.
  • Remove the batteries fromproductsthat arenot being used for an extended period (unless these arebeing keptready for an emergency).
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries.
  • Do not burn batteries or heat them up.
  • Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment.They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
  • Remove spent batteries from the productand dispose of them without delay.
  • Avoid storing,charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (suchasathigh altitudes).

Getting Started

Note
Before use, ensureyou insert the batteries in themeasuring station first and then in thebase station.

4.1 Insert batteries
Measuring station

  • Open the battery compartment (18) and remove thecontact breaker.

  • Then close the battery compartment cover.
    Base station

  • Remove the screen protector from the display.

  • Open the battery compartment (14) and insert three AAA Microbatteries with the correct polarity.

  • Then close the battery compartment cover.

4.2 Replacing the batteries
Note –Replacing the batteries

  • Note that the stations have to be resynchronised each time after you change the batteries in the measuring or base station.

  • To do this, remove the batteries from the other station and then reinsert them, or change them as required.
    Measuring station

  • Open the battery compartment (18), remove and properly dispose of the depleted batteries, and insert two new AAA Microbatteries with the correct polarity.Then close the battery compartment cover.
    Base station

  • Open the battery compartment (14), remove and properly dispose of the depleted batteries, and insert three new AAA Microbatteries with the correct polarity.Then close the battery compartment cover.

Installation

Note –Installation

  • We recommend initially placing the base and measuring stations in the intended locations without installing them and making allthe settings described in 6. Operation –todo.

  • Only installthe stations once the appropriate settings have been made and astable wireless connection is established.
    Note

  • The wireless transmission range between the measuring and base stations is up to 50 minopen spaces.

  • Before installation, ensurethat wireless transmission willnot be disrupted by interference or obstacles like buildings, trees, vehicles, high-voltage lines, etc.

  • Before the final installation, ensurethat thereissufficient reception between the intended installation locations.

  • When installing the measuring station, ensurethatitis protected from direct sunlight and rain.

  • The international standardheight for measuring air temperatureis1.25 m(4ft) above ground.

Warning

  • Buy special or suitable installation material from a specialised dealer for wall-mounting.
  • Ensure that no faulty or damaged parts are installed.
  • Never apply force during installation. This could damage the product.
  • Before installation, ensurethat the chosen wallissuitable for the weight to be mounted, and makesurethat there arenoelectrical wires, water,gas or other lines at the installation site on the wall.
  • Do not mount the product above locations wherepersons might linger.

5.1. Base station

  • Use the base to position thebase station (16) on alevel surface.
  • Alternatively,you can installthe base station on awallusing the opening (15) on theback.

5.2. Measuring station

  • You can also position themeasuring station on alevel outdoor surface.
  • We recommend installing the measuringstation securely on an outdoor wall.
  • Install an anchor,screw,nail, etc. in the wallofyour choice.
  • Hang up the base/measuring station using theopening (17) intended for this purpose.

Operation

Note
Hold down the ‘CH | ’button (10) or the ‘MEM| ’button (12) to select the values faster.
6.1. Connection to the measuring station

  • After you insert the batteries, thebase station automatically searches for aconnection to themeasuring station and performs initial setup.
    Note

  • Initial setup takes approx. 2minutes.

  • During connection, thewireless symbol on themeasuring station will flash (13).

  • Do not press any buttons during setup. Otherwise, values may not be transmitted correctly and thereisarisk of value errors and inaccuracies.

  • The setup process is completed when theindoor (7/8) and outdoor (2/3) measurement data is displayed.

  • The measured value is automatically updated by the base device about every 45 seconds.

  • If the temperatureisoutside of the measuring range, –.- (lower than minimum temperature) or –.- (higher than maximum temperature) willappear on the temperature display.

  • If the base station stilldoes not receive asignal from the measuring station, press and hold the ‘CH | ’button (10) for approx. 3seconds to start the manualsearch for the signal.

Note –Faulty transfer of measured values

  • In isolated cases, interference -e.g. from aWLAN network, acomputer or atelevision set -can cause the transfer of measured values between the measuring station and the base station to fail.
  • In this case, you must resynchronise the stations by brieflyremoving the batteries from both stations and reinserting them.
  • If the measured values arenot transferred again once the batteries areinserted, replace the batteries with new ones.
  • If necessary,select anew location for the base station in order to avoid possible interference in the future.

6.2 Selecting the channel/other measuring stations
Note

  • You can installtwo moremeasuring stations inaddition to the included measuring station. Ensurethat thebase and measuring stations areset to the samechannel.
  • Visit www.hama.com for suitable measuring stations.
  • Press the ‘CH | ’button (10) to set the channel to that set on the respective measuring station. Channel 1, 2or3 is displayed

6.3Basic and manual settings
Manually setting the date/time

  • Press and hold the ‘C/F|SET’button (11) for approximately 3seconds to make the following settings one after the other.
  • Year
  • Month
  • Day
  • 12/24-hour format
  • Hour
  • Minute
  • Toselect the individual values, press the ‘CH | ’button (10) or the ‘MEM |  ’button (12) and confirm each selection by pressing the ‘C/F |SET’ button (11).
  • Press the ‘C/F |SET’button (11) to adopt the set value displayed and to skip.
  • If you do not make an entry for 8seconds, you automatically exit Settings mode.

6.4 Celsius/Fahrenheit

  • Press the ‘C/F |SET’ button (11) when in anymode to choose between °C (Celsius) and °F (Fahrenheit).

6.5 Temperature measurement, maximum/minimum

  • Press the ‘MEM | ’button (12) to display the maximum or minimum values for temperatureand humidity recording.
  • If you press the ‘MEM | ’button (12) once, themaximum temperatureand humidity values aredisplayed. When you press the button once more, the minimum values are displayed.

6.6 Resetting data

  • Press and hold the ‘MEM | ’button (12) for approximately 3seconds to reset the stored maximum and minimum values for indoor temperature(8), room humidity (7), outdoor temperature(2) and outdoor humidity (3).

6.7 Weather forecast

  • Based on changes in theatmosphericpressureand the data saved, the base station is able to make weather forecasts for the next 12 to 24 hours.

Note
The weather forecast function is not available during the first few hours of operation because it requires data that is collected during operation.

Care and Maintenance

Only clean this product with aslightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Make surethatwater does not get into the product.
