DEVICE PREPARATION

  1. Choice of contact points
The transmission of stimulation impulses from the collar to the dog’s skin is ensured by two stainless steel contact points in Fig. 1/1 on page 2. Each package contains two types.
If your dog has short hair, use short contact points (already screwed onto the collar from the factory). If you have a dog with longer or thicker fur, unscrew the short contact points from the device and replace them with longer ones. Tighten the contact points by hand. Do not use pliers or other tools to tighten, you may cause irreparable damage to the product.
TIP: If the dog has dry skin, it is a good idea to lubricate it with medical petroleum jelly or another moisturizing cream in the place where the contact points touch the skin – this ensures a better transmission of stimulation impulses.DOG-d-mute-ONE-Electronic-Collar-Against-Barking-

  2. Charging
The d-mute ONE anti-barking collar contains a Li-Pol battery. The battery must be charged before using the device for the first time.

  3. Connect the power cord with the clip to the device as shown in Figure 2 on page 2.
The tabs on the charging clip must fit into the slots on the collar box.

  4. Connect the power cable to the 5 to 5.5 V DC charging adapter (not included in the package), which you then connect to the mains.

  5. The orange indicator light on the device lights up (charging time is approx 2 hours).

  6. When charging is complete, the orange light will turn off.
NOTICE: Charge the battery in an environment with a temperature of 0° to 40°C.
For charging, use a charging adapter with a voltage between 5 to 5.5 V DC or the original 5.2 V power adapter offered by the manufacturer as an additional accessory. Using a higher voltage adapter could damage the electronic collar.DOG-d-mute-ONE-Electronic-Collar-Against-Barking-

  7. Checking the condition of the battery
The red indicator LED on the side is used to check the status of the battery in the device (Fig. 1/4 on page 2). If the red LED is flashing, the collar is discharged and needs to be charged. Do not leave the d-mute ONE in a discharged state for an extended period of time.
    The battery could be damaged.

  8. Switching on / off the collar
The d-mute ONE collar is controlled using a magnetic switching system, which is activated by applying a magnet to marked points on the device. To turn on, place the magnet (Fig. 1/5) at 0.5 s to the red point marked M (Mode) according to Fig. 3 on page 3. A rising tone will be heard followed by one beep indicating switching to mode 1. After turning on, the device is in energy-saving standby mode and waiting to be activated by the dog barking.
To turn it off, hold the magnet for a long time again at the red dot on the collar marked M. The collar will start beeping repeatedly. At the time the descending tone is heard, move the magnet away.
NOTE: It is not necessary to turn off the collar. If the dog is not barking or you are not using the collar, it consumes very little energy from the battery.
Turn off the collar only if you do not use it for more than a month.DOG-d

  9. Setting the collar mode (acoustic and stimulation pulse)
After switching on, the collar automatically switches to automatic mode (mode 1). In this mode, when the dog barks, the level of the stimulation impulse gradually increases automatically.
The correction mode can be reset to another mode as follows:

  10. Place the magnet on the red dot on the collar marked M (mode) – Fig. 4 on page 3. The collar will start beeping.

  11. Hold the magnet near the collar until the number of beeps indicating the desired mode number according to the table on page 3 is heard.

  12. When you have counted the number of beeps according to the desired mode, move the magnet away from the collar.
After reaching the last possible mode (10 collar beeps), the collar switches back to the lowest mode and gradually increases again.
If you want to check in which mode the collar is set, briefly touch the magnet to the red Mode point. The collar emits the number of beeps according to the currently set mode.
    Collar Fashions:
ON / OFF – when the collar emits an increasing tone, the collar turns on. If the collar emits a decreasing tone, the collar has turned off.
Auto soft / Auto hard – automatic mode in which when the dog barks, the impulse gradually increases up to the level until the dog stops barking (maximum 10 levels). In soft mode, the size of the correction pulse increases very slowly, and the maximum level is approximately half that of hard mode.
Tone – when barking, the collar does not give a corrective impulse, but only warns the dog by beeping the collar. This mode is suitable for the initial sensitivity setting of the bark sensor – see the next chapter.
Stimulation pulse – fixed size of the stimulation pulse.
NOTE: We recommend starting training with the collar set in the third mode – only acoustic signal without stimulation impulse. Thus, the dog associates the function of the device depending on its barking. Acoustic signals may not fulfill the function of correction in the beginning, but they can still help the dog to understand that they always follow his barking.
More information about the function of individual modes can be found on our website
    www.dogtrace.com.

  13. Setting the sensitivity of the bark sensor
The d-mute ONE collar detects barking using a special sensor that reacts to the vibrations of the dog’s vocal cords when barking (sometimes growling and whining) and does not react to the sound made when barking. This prevents barking from being detected if another dog is barking nearby.
For the system to function properly, the correct bark detection sensitivity (level) must be set. The sensitivity must be set so that the collar is activated only when the dog barks. If the sensitivity is too high, the collar can be activated even if the dog is not barking. If the dog barks and the collar does not respond to barking, the sensitivity is too low.
The sensitivity is set by applying the magnet to the white point marked with the letter S (sensitivity) – Fig. 5 on page 4.

  14. Place the magnet on the white dot on the collar marked S. It will start to sound
    collar beeping.

  15. Hold the magnet on the collar until the number of beeps indicating the desired sensitivity level according to the table on page 4 is heard.

  16. When you have counted the number of beeps according to the desired mode, move the magnet away from the collar.DOG-d-mute-ONE-Electronic-Collar-Against-Barking-fig-4

Putting the collar on the dog

The dog must have a device placed on the lower part of the neck (on the vocal cords) in order for the receiver to correctly evaluate its barking – fig. 6 on page 4. The belt
(collar) must be sufficiently tight so that it cannot move around the dog’s neck, but at the same time it must not choke. The collar is properly tightened if you can insert 2 fingers between the collar and the dog’s neck. It is important that the contact points come into contact with the skin, so when putting it on we recommend turning the collar several times to the left and right so that the contact points reach the skin.DOG-d-mute-ONE-Electronic-
Collar-Against-Barking-fig-5

CAUTION: If the collar is too loose, the e-collar box will move and repeated friction may irritate your dog’s skin. In addition, in this case, reliable contact of the contact points with the surface of the dog’s skin and vocal cords and thus the proper function of the electronic collar is not ensured. We do not recommend leaving the collar on the dog in the same place for several hours, it could cause skin irritation. A collar with a device that is too tight can cause pressure sores on the skin where the contact points touch. If this happens, do not use the electronic collar until all traces of irritation have disappeared.

 Troubleshooting

  1. Please read this user manual again and check whether the problem is caused by improper use or low battery.

  2. If the dog does not respond to stimulation impulses:
Check again that the battery in the collar is charged.
Test the functionality of the device using a test glow plug (see point 3 of this chapter). Check that you have chosen the correct length of contact points (chapter 4.1) and ensure contact with the dog’s skin by tightening the collar (chapter 5).
If the dog has dry skin, moisturize it.

  3. Checking the correct function of the stimulation pulse: The correct function of the correction pulse can be checked using the test glow plug that is included in the product’s accessories.
To both contact points (Fig. 1/1 on page 2) connect the leads of the test glow plug according to Fig. 7 on page 4. Loosen the contact points, insert the glow plug leads under them so that they hold firmly and tighten the contact points again.
Use the magnet to set mode 1 or 2 – according to chapter 4.5.
Use the magnet to set the higher sensitivity of the receiver – according to chapter 4.6.
Repeatedly vibrate the sensor in the collar by rubbing the contact points against a hard, rough surface.
The test lamp should light up when functioning properly.
Before using the collar on your dog, remove the test glow plug from the device.

  4. If the problem persists, contact your dealer.

Maintenance

The d-mute ONE collar is waterproof only if the seal on the upper cover of the collar is in good condition.
