Handlebar tape-2 pieces one for each section of the handlebar
Handlebar caps – 2 pieces to be press-fitted to the end of the handlebar
Adhesive strips- 2 pieces of adhesive tape to secure the tape once wrapped
HANDLEBAR TAPE REPLACEMENT ON RACING BIKES
Replacing the tape is a simple operation, please follow the instructions below:
STEP 1: Remove the old tape and clean the handlebar
Remove the old tape and clean the handlebar of any remaining glue residue.
After cleaning is complete, turn the rubber protectors placed over the brake
levers back on themselves and apply the strip of handlebar tape over the metal
band.
STEP 2: Positioning the tape
Take the tape out of the package, unroll it and remove any protective film.
Start rolling the tape from the bottom of the handlebar and continue upward.
Roll the tape inward to prevent it from coming loose over time. Leave 1/3 of
the tape protruding from the edge of the handlebar end. Once the taping is
complete, turn the excess material back inside the handlebar and secure it
with its appropriate cap.
STEP 3: Applying the tape
Pay careful attention to ensure you do not overlap more than half the section
of the handlebar tape. Keep the tape slightly tout (be careful not to
overstretch as it may break) to avoid wrinkles or it coming loose while using
the bike.
STEP 4: Applying the tape around the controls
Near the shift-brake control area wrap the handlebar tape around the control
using a figure-of-eight or infinity motion.
STEP 5: Securing the tape
Use scissors to cut off any excess handlebar tape. Using scissors, diagonally
cut a small part at the end of the ribbon. Secure the handlebar tape using the
adhesive strip supplied or with electrician’s tape.
STEP 6: Inserting the caps
Turn over or fold the excess tape inside the handlebar bend and insert the
handlebar caps. Turn over the rubber guards placed over the broke levers to
their original position.
MAINTENANCE
For proper maintenance, it is recommended to clean with a water-dampened cloth at ambient temperature and a mild detergent. Dry with a soft cloth but not close to heat sources or direct exposure to sunlight. Do not try to improve cleaning by using solvents or abrasive cloths.
CONFORMITY DEFECTS
In the event of conformity defects, you may contact the retailer from whom the handlebar tape was purchased. This is in relation to defects of conformity existing at the time of delivery of the product and which emerge within two years from the time of purchase, or within the longer period of time taking into account the mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which the purchaser resides, namely, the country in which the natural person acting for purposes unrelated to the entrepreneurial, commercial, handicraft or professional activity resides. To be able to make a claim under the warranty for lack of conformity, you must provide proof of purchase of the handlebar tape. We therefore recommend that you keep all documentation related to the purchase of the product.
