Features, buttons and ports
Front

Power button Press the button once to turn on the tablet; press the button again to switch to standby mode. Press and hold the button to turn off the device.

Battery cover
Replace battery / add SIM & memory card
To replace the battery, remove the battery cover by gently pulling on the cover. Pull the hook of the battery holder (1) towards the bottom of the device. Take the battery out upwards (2), and release the second hook of the battery holder (3).
For WWAN models only: Insert the SIM card (if you have a device with modem) into the slot in the lower right corner. Please make sure that you have inserted the SIM card the right way round (chip facing down). The memory card can be inserted on the left side, please make sure you insert it the right way around as shown in the picture. When reinserting the battery, make sure both hooks are engaged and securely fastened. Make sure the battery cover is firmly in place. To replace the battery, remove the battery cover by gently pulling on the cover. Pull the hook of the battery holder (1) towards the bottom of the device. Initial start-up
- First connect the power adapter and make sure that the battery is fully charged before dis-connecting the device from the power adapter again. We recommend using a charging station or docking station to charge the tablet. If you use a USB-C charger, please make sure it is at least 18W and complies with the USB-C standard.
- To turn on the tablet, press the power button once.
- Follow the instructions in the operating system to make the settings.
Troubleshooting
If the device stops responding and you need to perform a hard reset, press and
hold the power button for about 14 seconds. The device will now turn off.
To connect USB3.0 devices while connected to a WLAN network, you need a 5GHz
connection. 2.4GHz networks are disconnected by the Tablet 8 while using
USB3.0 devices. GPS reception is limited while using a USB3.0 device.
Warnings
To prevent possible hearing damage, avoid operating the unit at high volume
device at a high volume for a longer period of time.
Antenna positions
At a close distance to the body, your device meets the guidelines for exposure
to radio waves (specific absorption rate SAR). It is recommended that you
observe the following antenna posi-tions (WWAN models only) and avoid touching
or placing your body near these antenna areas. The antenna areas are
highlighted in the following figure.
Declaration of conformity
Depending on the model, the following declarations of conformity apply. You
will find more detailed information on the type plate of your device.
EU Declaration of Conformity
e-medic™ hereby declares that the Tablet 8 radio device is in compliance with
Directive 2011/65/ EU and 1999/5/EC or 2014/53/EU (2014/53/ EU replaces
1999/5/EC of 13 June 2017). The full text of the EU Declaration of Conformity,
is available upon request from e-medic.
Marking and European Economic Area
- The use of RLANs for use throughout the European Economic Area is subject to the fol-lowing restrictions :
- Maximum radiated transmission power of 100 mW EIRP in the 2.400- 2.4835 GHz frequency range.
- Restriction from 5.13 – 5.35 GHz for indoor use only
- The use of Bluetooth” wireless technology for use throughout the European Economic Area is subject to the following restrictions:
- Maximum radiated transmission power of 100mW EIRP in the frequency range of 2.400- 2.4835 GHz.
Country approvals for mobile devices
Regulatory markings subject to certification are affixed to the device. They
indicate that the radio(s) is/are approved for use in the following countries:
United States, Canada, and Europe. Refer to e-medic’s Declaration of
Conformity for more information on labeling for other coun-tries.
Europe includes: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta , the Netherlands, Nor-way, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The device supports WLAN 5150-5350 MHz with restrictions for indoor use.
Important product and safety information
- Avoid dropping, bending or twisting the tablet. This may break the display glass, circuit boards, or mechanics. If the glass is broken, do not under any circumstances touch the glass parts of the device or attempt to remove the broken glass parts from the device. Do not reuse the unit until it has been replaced by qualified service personnel.
- Do not attempt to disassemble your tablet. Doing so may damage the device.
- Operate your device in a location where the temperature is between -20°C and +50°C. Opera-ting between -20°C and -10°C will result in limited performance.
- Charge your device with the recommended charger, in the temperature range between 0°C and +60°C. Please note that charging speed is reduced at higher temperatures.
- Store your device in a place where the temperature is between -20°C and +60°C Please note that battery storage requires special handling. Please refer to the notes on battery safety for more information
- This product is equipped with a USB-C port and is intended to be powered by a certified power adapter that has 5V-12V supply voltage according to USB specification
- For charging, the power outlet must be near the device and easily accessible.
- Protect your device from water and moisture ingress. When the device is not in use, the port covers must be closed to prevent water and moisture from entering.
- Use a headset with moderate volume and do not bring the speaker outputs of the device near your ear when the speakers are on.
- Use a soft, clean, dry lint-free cloth to clean the device.
- Keep the device out of the reach of small children.
- Turn off your device before boarding an aircraft.
- Turn off the device in areas where there is a risk of explosion.

- Use only the charger supplied with your tablet.
- Do not pull the cord to disconnect the charger.
- Do not use damaged power cords or plugs.
- Save energy. You can save power by following these points.
- Close all applications and data connections that you do not need.
- Reduce the brightness of the display and the volume.
- Disable unnecessary sounds, such as the touch-panel sound.
- Unplug your charger when you don’t need it.
- Disconnect all unneeded accessories from your device.
- Recycling. Take used electronic devices to appropriate collection points. Please note that your tablet is equipped with a battery. Therefore, you must not dispose of it in normal household waste, as
- the battery must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
- Safety of replaceable batteries
- Batteries have a certain lifespan. If the battery provides power to the unit for a much shorter period of time than normal, the battery life may be over.
- If batteries are stored for more than six (6) months, irreversible n deterioration of the overall battery quality may occur.
- Remove the batteries from the unit and store the batteries half charged in a dry, cool place; to prevent loss of capacity, rusting of metal parts and electrolyte leakage. DO NOT store the instrument
- fully charged, especially in environments with high temperatures.
- Do not store the battery for more than 1 month in environments with temperatures between 35°C and 60°C (s90% RH).
- Keep the device away from heat sources (battery temperature must not exceed 60°C).
- If you notice any unusual heat, arrangement, discoloration, deformation, or abnormal condi-tions during use, charging, or storage, stop using your tablet.
- Do not throw the battery into open fire. There is a risk of explosion!
- Do not immerse the battery in liquids, such as water, tea, coffee, etc.
- Do not bump, bend, deform or drop the battery.
- Do not pierce the battery with a sharp object, such as a needle, etc.
- Make sure that no electrolyte leaks from the battery. If this does happen and electrolyte does come into contact with your eyes, do not rub your eyes under any circumstances. Rinse your eyes
- thoroughly with clean water and seek medical attention immediately. If electrolyte comes into contact with your skin, you must wash your skin thoroughly with clean water.
- Do not create an external short circuit on the battery. In the event of an external short circuit, the battery may overheat, ignite or break.
- There is a risk of explosion if you replace the battery with a non-approved battery. Only use the battery approved for this device.
- Batteries must be disposed of in accordance with the above instructions.
- For customers within the EU: All products must be returned to e-medic for recycling at the end of their service life.
