SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This manual includes guidelines on the operation of your device and the precautions to follow for your own safety. Ensure it is read carefully before first use and keep it handy for future reference. These instructions should be read and understood before anyone operates the product. This device should only be used for testing the battery within the limits indicated on the device and in the manual. The safety instructions must be followed. In case of improper or unsafe use, the manufacturer cannot be held responsible

This device may be used by children from age 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the device safely and are aware of the potential risks. Children must not use the device as a plaything. Cleaning and servicing tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.

  • Do not cover the device.
  • Do not place the device near a fire or subject it to heat or to longterm temperatures exceeding 50°C
  • Risk of explosion and fire!
  • A battery being charged can emit explosive gas.
  • Avoid flames and sparks. Do not smoke.
  • Protect the electrical contacts of the battery against shortcircuiting.
  • Acid projection hazard!
  • Wear safety goggles and protective gloves
  • If your eyes or skin come into contact with battery acid, rinse the affected part of the body with plenty of water and seek immediate medical assistance.

CAUTION

  • Reverse polarity will cause the fuse to blow and could cause permanent damage. Damage due to reverse polarity is not covered by our warranty. Do not use on a vehicle with an electrical system with the positive grounded.
  • If the car’s battery is disconnected, some management systems may be disabled.
  • Consult your vehicle manual for more information on installation.
  • Do not use the battery tester if the cord or terminals are damaged.
  • Do not use the battery tester if it has received a severe shock or has been damaged in any way.
  • Do not disassemble the device. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.

Maintenance

  • Service should be performed by a qualified person.
  • If the internal fuse blows, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or a qualified person to avoid any danger.
  • Never use solvents or other aggressive cleaning agents. Clean the surfaces of the unit with a dry cloth.
  • The device complies with European Directive.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

With very high specs, the tester BTW 300 is designed to test the battery and the charging system of a vehicle via a smartphone or a tablet equipped with Bluetooth technology. Easy to use using the dedicated application, it will keep the test history to improve the management of the fleet of vehicles.

FEATURES

  • Battery 6 and 12 V: a test of the voltage and charge status.
  • Starter 12 and 24 V: tests the starting voltage.
  • Alternator circuits 12 and 24 V: tests no load voltage and charging voltage as well as current undulation during the charge.

INSTALLATION OF THE APP

  1. Download and install the «DHC Sync» application via App Store or Google Play.
    • Note: Requires an iOS 8.0 or higher for Apple devices. OS 4.3 version or higher for Androïd devices.
  2. Once the application is installed, open the application and register :
    • Select «New user»
    • Fill in the mandatory fields and tick «I accept the general conditions». Select «Continue».
  3. Login: Enter the email address provided during registration. Tick the box «Remember account». Select «connection».GYS-BTW-300-Battery-Tester-FIG-6

CONNECTING THE TESTER

  1. Ensure that the area is well-ventilated before performing a test.
  2. Before carrying out a test on the battery, make sure that the ignition is switched off and that the consumers are not running. Close all doors and the vehicle hood.
  3. Make sure that the battery terminals are clean. If necessary, clean them using a wire brush. Any rust between the tester terminals and the battery connectors or between the battery connectors and the battery terminals reduces the accuracy of the tester.
  4. Connect the negative (black) terminal to the negative terminal of the battery. Connect the positive plug (red) to the positive terminal of the battery.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Open the application on the mobile phone and connect.
  2. Select «Scan» at the top right of the home screen. If the TEST icon is displayed in red, it means that the tester is connected. In this case, it is not necessary to select «Scan».
  3. Once connected, select «continue connected». The user can name the tester. Move your finger over to the test area and select «Edit».
  4. Press «START TEST» to start the analysis.
  5. Click on the test to be performed in the menu at the top of the screen

  1. Prepare the test by selecting the type of battery, the nominal voltage and the defined capacity. (move your finger towards the top to scroll through the proposals)
  2. Select «start test». Confirm that the battery is charged.
  3. The test report is displayed.
  4. Press «send test results by email/message » and select the application.

  1. In the menu select «Charging System»
  2. Configure the test by selecting the battery type, nominal voltage and defined capacity (slide your finger up to scroll through the proposals).
  3. Select «start test». To return to the previous screen press «<» during the process.

  5. The test report is displayed. Press «send test results by email/message»

ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY TEST

  1. In the menu select «Electric Vehicle»
  2. Configure the test by selecting the make and battery type (move your finger towards the top to scroll through the proposals).
  3. Select «start test». To return to the previous screen press «<» during the process.
  4. Follow the instructions of the tester.
  5. The test report is displayed. Press «send test results by email/message»

TEST RECORDS

  1. To access the recordings of the tests performed, select «Home» and then select «Test recordings».
  2. Select the test records to view, email or delete.

WARRANTY

The warranty covers faulty workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase (parts and labor).

The warranty does not cover

  • Transit damage.
  • Normal wear of parts (eg. : cables, clamps, etc..).
  • Damages due to misuse (power supply error, dropping of equipment, disassembling).
  • Environment-related failures (pollution, rust, dust).

In case of failure, return the unit to your distributor together with

  • The proof of purchase (receipt etc …)
  • A description of the fault reported
