Settings
Adjustable minimum animal weight settings
The feeder can be operated by all poultry, and the access to the food can be
adjusted based on the weight of the animals. Each model of the Feedomatic has
five different settings. For animals of for example 500 grams, you choose
bottom setting A and top setting 2 when you have a 5kg. or a 8kg. model of the
Feedomatic. In case you have a 12kg. or a 20kg. model of the Feedomatic, you
choose bottom setting A and top setting 1.

Adjustable feed settings
To control the amount of feed, the Feedomatic has an additional back plate on the inclined plate that opens when an animal steps on the treadle. This is adjustable to 4 heights. The default setting is setting 1, the difference between each setting is 6 mm. Raising this back plate to set 4 allows more room (18 mm more) for the feed to pass through. Please make sure there is no feed in the feeder when changing the setting.
Training
Training your flock on how to use the Feedomatic
Some animals need to get used to their new treadle feeder. Training them only
takes approximately two or three days. Put a stone or a weight on the treadle
to show the animal where the food is. Sometimes it might be helpful to keep
the stone for a day or two on the treadle, this way the animals will discover
where the food is.
