BREX Technology – Brake and Emergency Brake Light
BREX Technology provides different lighting indications for Normal operation, Braking, and Emergency braking, ensuring the best visibility for cyclists from behind. The integrated sensor is always active and reacts to braking or emergency braking situations, with no wiring to the brake required.

Normal Operation
The rear light with BREX Technology offers cyclists the best visibility from behind. The integrated sensor is always active and reacts as soon as it detects braking or emergency braking situations.

Braking
Upon detection of braking by the integrated sensor, the rear light shines very brightly and clearly to signal deceleration to following traffic participants. It is more than five times as bright as in normal operation, thus significantly brighter than previous brake rear lights with so-called “delay light”.

Emergency Braking
In the event of a sudden braking, the rear light activates the pulsating emergency brake light function. In this mode, BREX conveys the hazard situation with a signal effect never seen before, preventing accidents.

Instructions and Safety Information

The instruction manual is intended for users with knowledge and experience in assembling and mounting bicycle components. Specific tools are required. If you are not familiar with how bicycle components are assembled or mounted, or do not have the appropriate tools, please consult a bicycle specialist to carry out these works properly. Improper assembly of lighting components may lead to an accident with serious injuries.

Security Information

The manual uses signal words to draw attention to potential dangers or information. The meanings of these signal words are as follows:

WARNING

Describes a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.

NOTE

Refers to information that is important, but not hazard-related (e.g., information on property damage).

Information Symbol

Points to other useful information about your new bicycle lighting.

Intended Use
Busch + Müller offers a diverse product portfolio of bicycle lighting. Not every lighting is suitable for every application and for driving on all surface types. There are restrictions. If you are not sure which type of lighting you need, you can either call our service hotline, send an email inquiry, or ask a bicycle dealer in your area for advice.

Legal Regulations
Before you ride your bicycle in public road traffic, you must familiarize yourself with the applicable laws and regulations of your country and the local provisions and always comply with them. In Germany, these can be found in the Road Traffic Regulations, and outside Germany in other sources, depending on your respective location.

Assembly Instructions
Depending on the desired mounting position (mudguard or saddle support/strut), align the sliding socket so that the rear light is later aligned at a 90-degree angle to the road surface (see sketch). When mounting on the fender, the rear light is attached with the included pan head screw. Please use only the original screw from Busch + Müller, as the rear light can be damaged if another screw is used. For saddle support/strut mounting, please use the enclosed cable ties.

Mounting Options
There are two mounting options provided: A for mudguard mounting and B for saddle support/strut mounting. It is important to ensure the rear light is oriented correctly towards the road.

Additional Notes and Liability

If the bicycle is sprayed with water, left upside down in the rain, or transported in the rain on a motor vehicle, the rear light should be covered so that no moisture can enter. Disposal: Rear lights with electronics are not part of household waste. They must be disposed of separately. Liability for damages resulting from improper handling, insufficient safe mounting, and the consequences thereof, such as immersion in water or other liquids, etc., is excluded from the warranty. Moreover, the warranty expires if the rear light is opened.
