ASSIGNMENT OF BUTTONS

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

BASIC SETTINGS/MENU NAVIGATION

By simultaneously pushing the touch points 3+ and 3- for two seconds, you enter the basic settings of the headlight. The word BUTTON
ICONSbriefly appears in the display. Initially, the current time may be set. First, the selected hour flashes. By pushing touch point 3+ , the next hour is selected, by pushing touch point 3- the previous hour. A short push of the ON/OFF button 2 confirms the selected hour. After that, the current minute may be set the same way.

After another short push of the ON/OFF button, the touch slider 3 may be used to regulate the brightness of the display in eight increments. The wordBUTTON ICONS appears in the display. The eight indication LEDs 4 next to the touch slider indicate the selected brightness. Another short push of the ON/OFF button displays the headlights serial number (SER. accompanied by two digits, followed by the actual serial number, alternating every three seconds). The next short push of the ON/OFF button returns you to setting the time. To leave basic settings, push the ON/OFF button for two seconds. The word BUTTON ICONSappears in the display.

OPERATION

ON/OFF: Push button 2 for two seconds. The Logo BUTTON
ICONSbriefly appears in the display. After that, the headlight enters the last chosen display mode.

Regulate brightness: By pressing down the slider 3 at any point, one of the eight respective light levels is selected. The adjacent indication LEDs 4 show which light level is selected – from one LED (lowest setting, 20 Lux) all the way up to eight LEDs (highest setting, 150 Lux). When battery capacity is low or the operating temperature high (BUTTON ICONS appears in the display), the brightness is reduced automatically.

MOUNTING AND ADJUSTMENT

The headlight must be mounted to the handlebar. Only then the mandated mounting height is ensured. As is the case with all light installations, the light-emitting front of the headlight may never be blocked or covered.
MOUNTING AND ADJUSTMENT

Put the included rubber ring 6 around the handlebar. Select the appropriate orientation of locking screw and the turn knob depending on the handlebar diameter and screw both into the mounting bracket. Put the mounting bracket over the rubber ring with the turn know pointing towards the saddle. Pivot locking screw and turn knob into the opposing arm of the mounting bracket and tighten the screw.
MOUNTING AND ADJUSTMENT

Please note: Depending on whichside of the turn knob the screw is inserted, a short or long version is created!

Technical modifications reserved.

Insert the headlight vertically down into the mounting bracket and push down firmly. The headlight audibly locks in place. Always check for a secure and firm fit. To remove the headlight, turn the locking ring clockwise while holding on to the headlight and pulling it vertically up. No liability is assumed for any damage caused by the headlight falling down, for example when the locking ring is turned without holding on to the headlight.

If the handlebar construction only allows the turn knob to face the front instead of the cyclist, the mounting bracket receptacle on the headlight’s bottom has to be loosened with a screw driver, turned by 180° and then fastened again.
Align the headlight so oncoming traffic will not be glared. The light/ dark boundary should still be visible on a flat road.

Tip: Park the headlight on a horizontal surface and shine the headlight towards a wall. The visible light/dark boundary should be lower than the headlights upper edge, measured from the ground up.
The headlight can pivot vertically and also, by a small degree, horizontally. In both cases, the tightening screw has to be loosened.
Vertical: The inclination of the headlight is adjusted by the position of the mounting bracket.

Horizontal: The headlight may pivot left or right to a limited degree.
No mounting beneath the handlebar: If the headlight is hung beneath the handlebar, the light field is reversed and oncoming traffic is glared in violation of traffic regulations. Also, splash water damage may occur which is not covered by liability.

Caution: LED headlamps may have an adverse effect on the function of electronically sensitive wireless tachometers

DISPLAY MODES

Change display mode: Push ON/OFF button 2 for less than a second. With each push, the display chances from one of the three display modes to the next and, after the third one, back to the first.
BUTTON ICONS

  1. Display mode remaining capacity: The remaining battery capacity in per cent is shown .

  2. Display   mode remaining light duration: The word briefly appears in the display. After that, the remaining light duration in hours and minutes is shown, depending on the selected light level.
After changing the light level, it may take several seconds for the correct time to be displayed. In power bank mode (see below), the headlight displays for how long the currently connected mobile device may still be charged. If the headlight shines and simultaneously charges a mobile device in power bank mode, the display shows for how long concurrent light and charging is possible. Remaining charge time: During charging, the duration for the headlight to be recharged completely flashes in the display.

  3. Display mode time: The word briefly appears in the display. After that, the current time is displayed. To set the headlight’s internal clock, see basic settings.
The actual remaining capacity and light duration may differ from the values displayed. Those differences are inherent to the headlight’s system and cannot be excluded. They are no basis for liability claims.

POWER BANK MODE

In power bank mode, the energy stored in the headlight’s battery can be used to charge other mobile devices (like smartphones or GPS devices) via a USB connection. The fully charged headlight battery can supply approx. 3000 mAh.
Push the ON/OFF button 2 four times in rapid succession to enter power bank mode. The following symbol indicates this: .
To charge a mobile device, open the headlight’s rear cover and connect the included micro USB adaptor cable. To this cable’s USB socket, the mobile device’s individual charging cable may be connected.

Please note: During rain and humid conditions, the rear cover of the headlight must be closed, so that no moisture may enter the micro USB socket. Further charging via the power bank function is only possible if the headlight is removed from the handlebar and stowed in a watertight bag together with the mobile device. No liability is assumed for any damages caused to the headlight or the mobile device due to moisture.

By again pushing the ON/OFF button four times in rapid succession, power bank mode is exited. Five seconds after disconnecting any mobile device, power bank mode ends automatically. Also, power bank mode ends automatically if, five minutes after entering it, no mobile device has been connected or when the battery’s remaining capacity drops below 10%. When power bank mode concludes, appears in the display

BATTERY

IXON Space contains a non-removable lithium battery. Prior to first use, the battery must be charged. To charge, open the headlight’s rear cover. Connect the included cable (micro USB plug to USB A plug) to the micro USB socket 5 of the headlight. To charge, connect the USB cable to the included mains charger. A battery with two arrows pointing towards itself appears in the display (only if the original charging equipment is used).

Charging with other USB mains adaptors (max. 2000 mA, 5 V) or a computer is also possible. In this case, a battery with only one arrow pointing towards itself appears .

During charging, depending on the selected display mode (to switch, briefly push the ON/OFF button), either the charging status in per cent, the remaining charging time in hours and minutes, the current time or a battery symbol that fills in accordance with the charging status are displayed. As soon as charging is finished, the display goes dark.

Recommendation: Use the included original charger and USB cable.
That way, the shortest charging time is assured (approx. 5 h).
When using alternative chargers, charging may take up to 10 hours.
No liability is assumed for potential damages caused by using charging equipment other than the included.

During cycling, a low charge is indicated by the word flashing in the display every 15 seconds. After its initial appearance, 30 minutes light duration in the currently chosen light level remain. It is then recommended to select a lower light level. Please consider at all times that, if the battery is not charged in time, there is danger of sudden darkness.

Please note: The headlight’s battery may not be charged during rain or humid conditions, so that no moisture may enter the micro
USB socket. No liability is assumed for any damage caused by moisture entering the headlight.
Supercharging is not possible due to the energy supply being shut down automatically. Only charge the battery at temperatures above 0°C.

Tip for preserving the battery: During longer periods of non-use, store the headlight coolly and dryly at approx. 30% remaining charge.
If the battery is discharged below 10% capacity and subsequently fully charged, the battery recalibrates. Occasional recalibration helps to display the remaining light duration as exactly as possible.

Please note: Due to variations in temperature, water may condense on the inside of the headlight. This may also happen when the headlight cools down after usage. This is no fault; the moisture evaporates when the headlight is turned on again or when it is stored dryly. As the mirror inside the headlight is made of synthetic material, there is no danger of either corrosion or detraction of the light field quality.
Service offer: If the battery is damaged, the headlight can be returned to Busch + Müller. Please contact the manufacturer for further information.

LIABILITY

Apart from all liability disclaimers stated above, no liability is assumed for any damage caused by improper handling (e.g. dropping the headlight, insufficiently secure mounting and its consequences, submerging in water, opening the rear cap during rain or humidity etc.). Any liability is void if the headlight is disassembled or opened at any other point apart from its rear cover.
