4 CAUTION: Water shower head and capsule basket contain a sharp piercing needle. Use caution when cleaning these areas.

Decalcifying

Calcium build-up frequently occurs in coffee makers. This build-up is quite normal and is caused minerals commonly found in drinking water. Your coffee maker will need to be descaled every 2-3 months to remove any calcium or mineral deposits that might have formed.
We recommend decalcifying your pod coffee maker with a solution of regular white vinegar and cold water. Use a solution of 2 table spoons (30 mL) whitevinegar in one mug of cold water.
Pour the vinegar solution into the water reservoir. Insert capsule basket into place and close the hinged lid and put the empty mug in place. Do not use the reusable capsule.
Switch the pod coffee maker on and allow it to “BREW” the vinegar solution. When the vinegar solution has finished “brewing”, empty the mug and rinse it out with clean water.
Refill your mug with clean, cold water and run a second “BREW” cycle. This will rinse out any remaining vinegar solution. If necessary, you may want to repeat this last step.
The frequency of decalcifying will depend on the hardness of your water. In normal water conditions, we suggest decalcifying your pod coffee maker every 2-3 months. In hard water conditions, we suggest decalcifying your pod coffee maker every 1-2 months.

Troubleshooting

There are grounds in my coffee.

  • Grounds may have gathered in the exit or entrance needles and can be cleaned using a straightened paper clip or similar tool.

  • Finely ground coffee can clog the filter basket. For best brewing results, use a medium-grind coffee.

  • Using too many grounds can cause the filter basket to overflow. Once cooled, clean out the filter basket and refill using the appropriate amount of coffee.
Coffee maker lid won’t stay on.

  • The K-Cup was not poked by the pin at the bottom.

  • The filter basket is not placed in the correct position.

  • When using the filter basket, place it according to the “Front” and “Back” labels on the lid. When hearing “CLICK”, the lid is closed property.
    Brew will not start.

  • Plug the brewer into an electrical outlet of the appropriate voltage. If the circuit is overloaded, the brewer may not function properly.

  • The brewer should be operated on its own circuit, separate from other appliances.

  • Check to make sure there is water in the water reservoir.

  • The brewer may need to run a cleaning cycle.

  • For energy savings, the brewer automatically turns off 90 seconds after the last brew.
Press the power button to restart.

  • If the brewer still doesn’t have power, contact Customer Service at support@vi-mukun.com
    Coffee liquid exceeds poured water.

  • The water level exceeded the Max Fill line on the water reservoir prior to brewing.
Reminder, DO NOT add additional water to the reservoir after a brew or cleaning cycle has already started,

  • The water reservoir holds 1402. To avoid overflows, make sure that the water in the tank has been used up for the last brew and the water reservoir is not filled past the 14 oz.

Brew basket overflowed.

  • Check that the basket is in place with the lid secured. If the lid is in place, the bottom of the filter basket may be clogged.
  • This can happen with finely ground coffee or too many coffee grounds in the filter holder.
  • The exit needle may be clogged.
  • Rinse the filter basket with water or use a straightened paper clip or similar tool to clean the exit needle.

NOTE: We recommend using medium-grind coffee.
Brewing a partial cup

  • The exit needle may be clogged. Using a straightened paper clip or similar tool to clean the exit needle.
  • Clean the Capsule Holder.
  • The brewer may need to be descaled. If you have repeated the descale procedure on your brewer two times and it is still only brewing a partial cup, contact Custom- er Service at support@vimukun.com.
