Dear Customer, thank you for buying a PHILCO brand product. To ensure
that this new appliance is well-used, please read all the instructions in this
user manual.
Important information for your safety is specially marked. Please strictly
follow these instructions to avoid accidents and damage to the appliance:

PART 1: IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES
We understand the importance of safety and that’s why we put your safety fi rst from the initial design concept to the production itself. Nevertheless, please be careful and follow the instructions below when using this appliance.

This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and older, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the potential dangers.

User cleaning and maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than 8 years of age and kept under supervision.

Keep the appliance and its supply out of the reach of children under 8 years of age.

Appliances may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the potential hazards.

Children must not play with the appliance.

If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced in a professional service centre in order to prevent a dangerous situation. It is forbidden to use the appliance with the power cord damaged.

This appliance is intended for use in the home. The appliance is also designed for personal noncommercial use in areas that include, but are not limited to the following:
– kitchenettes in stores, offi ces and other workplaces;
– agriculture;
– by guests in hotels, motels and other residential establishments;
– bed and breakfast businesses. -
Do not submerge the kettle or its base in water or another liquid.

If the kettle is overfi lled, hot water may splash out.

WARNING: Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.

ATTENTION: Position the lid so that the steam is directed away from the handle.

Use the kettle only with the supplied base. Do not use the base with other types of appliances.

CAUTION: Make sure the appliance is switched off before removing it from the base.

WARNING: Avoid spilling on the plug.

Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.
Follow the cleaning instructions in the “Cleaning and Maintenance” section. -
WARNING: Incorrect use may lead to injury. The surface of the heating element contains residual heat after use. Do not touch hot surface.

Before fi rst use, make sure that the voltage in your power socket matches the nameplate voltage on the unit bottom. In case of any doubt, please contact a qualifi ed electrician.

Before operating your appliance, read all the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place for possible future reference.

Before using the appliance for the fi rst time, please remove all packaging and ad stickers and discard them in an environmentally safe manner. Check the appliance for any defects. Under no circumstances should you use a damaged appliance or an appliance with a damaged power cord etc.

To eliminate the risk of small children suff ocating, remove the protective cover of the power plug from this appliance and dispose of it safely.

This appliance has been designed only for boiling drinking water. Never use the appliance to warm up other liquids or food. Use the appliance only for the purposes for which it has been designed. Do not use it outdoors.

Always put the kettle on a stable, even and dry surface. Do not place the kettle on windowsills, sink drip tray or on unstable surfaces. Do not operate the appliance on the edge of a desktop or a table.

Do not put the kettle on or the vicinity of any devices and equipment that generate heat.

Never use the kettle in the near vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming pool.

Do not place the appliance near walls, curtains or other substances sensitive to heat or steam. Please observe a minimum distance of 20 cm from such surfaces.

Use the kettle only with the base designed for and supplied with this type of kettle. Do not use the base supplied with this kettle for other types of kettles.

Do not use this appliance with a programmable switch, timer switch or any other device that automatically switches the appliance on.

Always remove the kettle from its base before fi lling.

When fi lling the kettle, make sure that the water level covers at least the minimum level mark but doesn’t exceed the maximum level mark.

Before turning the kettle on, make sure that the lid is closed properly. Do not open or otherwise handle the lid while water is boiling.

To lift and/or carry the kettle, please use the handle.

Do not put any subjects on the lid.
-
Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
-
Do not leave the appliance unattended while in operation.

Before removing the kettle from its base, make sure that it has been turned off .

The kettle heats up during use and may remain hot after use. Therefore, take extra care to avoid burns or injuries.
-
Take great care to avoid scalding with boiling water or steam while pouring out water from the kettle.

Always turn the kettle off and unplug from the power socket if you leave it unattended, if it’s not to be used, and before moving and cleaning.

When disconnecting the kettle from the mains socket, always pull the plug, not the power cord. Otherwise, damage to the power cord or the socket could occur.

A connected power outlet must be easily accessible for possible sudden disconnection. Before connecting your appliance to a power outlet and turning it on, make sure it’s fully and correctly assembled. Follow the instructions provided in this user’s manual.

Do not wash the kettle, base, mains cord and plug under running water and do not immerse them in water or any other liquid.

Do not use harsh abrasive or caustic detergents to clean the appliance.

Keep both inner and outer surface of the appliance clean. Follow the cleaning instructions provided in this user’s manual.

Do not store or use any explosive and/or fl ammable substances inside or in the vicinity of this appliance, such as fl ammable gas sprays.

Fully unwind the power cord before use.

Do not leave the power cord hanging over the edge of a table or counter top or allow it to touch a hot surface or to become tangled up. Do not put heavy objects on the power cord.

For safety reasons, we recommend to connect the appliance in an independent electrical circuit separated from other appliances. Do not use adapter plugs or extension cables to connect the appliance to a power socket.

To prevent electric shock, do not immerse the appliance, its base or the power cord in water or other liquids.
-
We recommend that you check your appliance regularly. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way or if the power cord or plug is defective. All repairs or adjustments must be performed at the nearest authorised service centre.

Any maintenance other than standard maintenance must be performed at an authorised service centre.

PART 3: BEFORE FIRST USE
- Before fi rst use, remove all packaging and advertising labels/stickers from the appliance.
- Before using the kettle for the fi rst time, allow the kettle to boil clean water. Fill the cattle with clean water, bring to a boil and then pour the water out. Repeat this procedure 3 to 4 times. The kettle is then ready for use. Your kettle will only operate correctly if placed on its base connected to an electric outlet. As soon as the water boils, the kettle will switch off automatically.
PART 4: USING YOUR KETTLE
- To fill the kettle with water, remove it from its base and detach the lid. Fill the kettle with the required amount of water. Do not fi ll the kettle below the minimum or above the maximum level mark. Lack of water would lead to turning the kettle off before boiling. If the kettle is overfi lled, the boiling water might splash out.
- Put the lid back and make sure it’s fi rmly closed. Place the kettle on its base. Insert the mains cord plug into a power socket.
- Turn the on button and set the desired temperature (40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C, 100°C), then press the on button.
- As soon as the water boils, the kettle will switch off automatically. Take the kettle from the base and pour water in cup, mug or other container. To boil water repeatedly, it’s necessary to wait a few seconds for the heating element to cool down.
- Do not start or use the kettle without water. Incorrect use of the appliance may negatively aff ect its lifetime.
- If the kettle is not to be used, unplug the power cord from the socket. You may store the kettle on the base if it’s not to be used.
WARNING:
Never fi ll the kettle if it is located on the base.
NOTE
This kettle should be used only with the supplied base. When pouring out water
from the kettle, be careful to avoid scalding with hot water. Do not pour
water too fast.
WARNING!
THIS APPLIANCE HAS BEEN DESIGNED ONLY FOR BOILING DRINKING WATER. DO NOT USE
THIS APPLIANCE TO COOK OTHER LIQUIDS OR FOODS. BEFORE TURNING THE KETTLE ON
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT THE LID IS FIRMLY CLOSED.
DO NOT OPERATE THE LID RELEASE BUTTON WHILE THE WATER IS HEATING OR AFTER IT
HAS FINISHED HEATING. THIS COULD CAUSE THE WATER TO SPLASH OUT. BEFORE OPENING
THE LID, PLEASE EMPTY THE KETTLE.
Keep warm function
- This function keep the water at the same temperature it was boiled to for one hour.
- Turn the on button and set the desired temperature (40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C or 90°C), and then long press the on button. This will activate the temperature preservation function. The set temperature on the display fl ashes twice and the “Kw” icon appears on the display.
- Press the on/off button briefl y to switch on the kettle.
- The kettle boils the water to the set temperature and then switches to the keep warm mode. During this time, the water will heat up to the set temperature, so the kettle will switch on and off.
- After two hours, the kettle automatically switches off and stops keeping the water warm.
NOTE
This function is not available for temperatures of 100°C, as boiling of the
water could cause damage to the kettle.
PART 5: CARE AND CLEANING
Before cleaning the appliance, always disconnect the plug of the power cord
from the mains socket and let it to cool down properly.
WARNING!
DO NOT SPLASH WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID ONTO THE KETTLE OR ANY OF ITS PARTS OR
ACCESSORIES.
DO NOT WASH THE KETTLE, BASE, MAINS CORD AND PLUG UNDER RUNNING WATER AND DO
NOT IMMERSE THEM IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
NOTE
Do not use sharp objects, chemicals, thinners, petrol or other similar
substances. Under no circumstances should the kettle be cleaned with a steam
cleaner.
CLEANING THE OUTER CASE OF THE KETTLE
To clean the kettle’s outer surface, please use a damp cloth; to polish, use a
dry cloth.
NOTE
The base heating element is made of high grade stainless steel. Brown stains
that may appear during use are mineral deposits from the boiled water. This is
no corrosion in any case.
REMOVING MINERAL DEPOSITS
Tapped water may contain minerals that may deposit inside the kettle and water
gauge and lead to colouration after some time. To remove the deposits, proceed
as follows:
Fill your kettle to 2/3 of its level with 1 portion of vinegar and 2 portions
of water. Let the solution come to the boil and let it stand in the kettle.
Empty your kettle and then boil clean water twice. The kettle is then ready
for further use.
STORAGE
Before storage, make sure that the kettle is turned off , clean and dry. Check
that the lid is closed properly. Wrap the cord around the bottom of the base.
Store your kettle in a vertical position and never put anything on the lid.
