For use with 120V, 60Hz electrical power supply only.
WARNING: TO PREVENT OVERHEATING AND ELECTRICAL SHOCK DO NOT INSTALL IN
SMALL ENCLOSED SPACES. TO PREVENT ELECTRICAL SHOCK DO NOT INSTALL IN WET
LOCATIONS.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
- Read and understand all of these instructions before installing fixture.
- Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference.
- Do not mount over sink or stove.

SECTION 1 – PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION
Tools Needed
Before starting the installation, make sure you have the following
tools:
- Screwdriver
- Pencil or scratch awl
- Drill (for drywall installation)
Parts of the Light Fixture
This light fixture can be installed via direct wire or with a 5’ Power Cord
(included) with a polarized plug as a safety feature. This plug can be used in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not
alter the plug. Become familiar with the parts of the light fixture.
Get familiar with the different parts of the light fixture:
- Mounting Holes: These holes allow for easy installation.
- Rear Access Door: This door can be removed to access the wires for direct wire installation.
- Power Cord: The 5′ power cord can be plugged into the input panel for plug-in installation.
- Linking Cord: The 12′ linking cord can be used to connect multiple fixtures together.
Warning:
For safety reasons, do not exceed the maximum linking quantity per model
number.
Placement of Fixture
Determine location and method for connecting 120V power for fixture. Portable
units are attached to house wiring with the use of a plug and Power Cord. They
can be easily moved from one location to another and have limited requirements
for grounding connections. Direct Wire units are designed to be permanently
mounted and are often directly connected to the house wiring through junction
boxes. If you are not sure about this installation consult a local licensed
electrician or electrical contractor before proceeding.
Locate Mounting Holes: Place fixture on mounting surface and with a thin
screwdriver, pencil or scratch awl mark the spot where the screws will be
located through the Mounting Holes in the top of the fixture. See Figure 2. Do
the same for a multiple fixture installation.
For mounting into drywall, drill 3/16” holes for the plastic wall anchors (not
included). Insert the plastic wall anchors into the proper holes and tap them
into place so they are flush with the surface of your drywall.
Caution: Check your cabinet thickness first. Be careful not to drill
through cabinet.
Prepare fixture for installation by turning screws provided into mounting
holes in the top of the fixture so they protrude through the back of the about
an 1/8”. This will help you line up screws to mounting holes.
Installation Instructions **
**
Plug-in Fixture Installation
Attach fixture to cabinet by tightening screws securely. (Note: before
mounting to cabinet be sure fixture is within 5’ of an electrical outlet,
consider path cord will take to be neatly and securely mounted to cabinet.)
Connect 5’ Power Cord to the Input port. Plug in Power Cord to a 15A circuit
grounded outlet. Warning: Do not conceal power supply cord inside a wall,
ceiling, soffit, kitchen cabinet, or similar permanent structure. Do not run
the power supply cord through holes in walls, ceilings, or floors.
Use UL listed cable staples (not included) to route Power Cord to bottom of
cabinet and wall for a clean installation.
Direct Wire Installation
Remove Knockout
Locate and remove the desired knockout located on rear access panel, remove
the screw and rear access panel to gain access to the wires inside the
fixture. Attach the supplied Cable Connector as shown in Figure 3.
Make Connections
WARNING: Make sure electrical power supply for installation circuit is
shut down at electrical service panel before starting installation. Do not re-
energize circuit until installation is fully completed. Ensure that no bare
wires are exposed outside the electrical connections.
Using either armored cable or non-metallic cable follow schematic in Figure 4
to make electrical connections per National Electric Code (NEC) and local
codes in your area.
AC supply should be 120V protected by circuit breaker or fuse. Use 12 or 14 AWG wires. Figure 4 shows completed electrical connections using wire nuts. Replace rear access panel making sure all connections are secure before closing fixture Figure 5.
Note: Be sure that the wires are not pinched or damaged by any part of
the housing or the cover.
CAUTION: Do not leave any knockouts uncovered. If more than one knockout
was removed, they must be covered with an approved 1/2” Knockout Plug per the
NEC. (Not included) Attach fixture to cabinet or wall by tightening screws
securely. Re-energize electrical circuit at the service panel.
Interconnecting Multiple Fixtures
WARNING: In multiple fixture installations do not electrify fixture group
until all electrical connections have been made and fixtures have been
securely mounted.
Interconnecting multiple fixtures can be done with the 12” Linking Cord
supplied with this kit. Follow instructions above for either a Plug-In or
Direct Wire Installation. First mount fixture that receives incoming
electrical supply. Using the Linking Cord, make sure plugs on both ends are
fully inserted into ports on both fixtures. There should be some slack in the
Linking Cord so that the electrical connectors are not stressed in any way.
Use cord clips (not included) to keep cord safely attached to mounting
surface.
WARNING: Do not use Linking Cord to turn fixtures on and off. Do not link
other manufacturers or other brand fixtures to this fixture.
Fixture Dimming
This product is suitable for use in dimming circuits. For 10-100% light
control, use an electronic dimmer (which includes CFL/LED dimmer types) with a
switched outlet. Dimmer performance and range of dimming depend on model used.
Note: Modifications to this product will void the user’s authority to
operate this equipment.

- If mounting into drywall, drill 3/16″ holes for the plastic wall anchors (not included).
- Insert the plastic wall anchors into the proper holes and tap them into place until they are flush with the surface of your drywall.
- Caution: Check your cabinet thickness to avoid drilling through the cabinet.
Step 2: Wiring
Follow these instructions for either direct wire or plug-in
installation:
Direct Wire Installation
- Remove the rear access door to access the 3 wires for 120V direct wire installation (refer to Figure 3).
- Connect the supply wires (green or copper for ground, black for hot, and white for neutral) to the corresponding fixture wires.
- Use wire nuts to secure the connections.
- Follow grounding directions closely to prevent shock.
Plug-In Installation
- Plug the 5′ power cord into the input panel of the fixture.
- For multiple fixture installation, plug the 12′ linking cord into the output panel of the first fixture and the input panel of the second fixture (refer to Figure 4).
