Appendix VI. Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible Reason / Solution

A faint noise is heard when turning the power on This is normal and nothing to worry about. or off.

After turning the power on to the keyboard there was no sound when the keys were pressed.

Check the master volume is not set to minimum.
Check that headphones or any other equipment are not plugged into the keyboard as these will cause the built-in speaker system to cut off automatically.

Check that the keyboard’s built-in tones are not muted (Tone volume set to level 000). Refer to section `Tone Volume Adjustment’.

Sound is distorted or interrupted and the keyboard is not working properly.

Use of incorrect power cable or USB adapter. Use the Type C USB power cable supplied.

The keyboard behaves strangely and possibly cuts out especially at high volume.

Use a USB power adapter with 2A rated output. Lower rated adapters such as 1A or below are not recommended.

There is a slight difference in timbre of some notes.

This is normal and is caused by the many different voice sampling ranges of the keyboard.

When using the sustain function some tones have long sustain and some short sustain.

This is normal. The best length of sustain for different tones has been pre- set.

The master volume or rhythm volume are not balanced correctly.

Adjust the master volume and rhythm volume separately as described in the instructions. Note that the master volume also affects the rhythm volume.

In `Sync’ mode the auto accompaniment does not start.
The keyboard switches off by itself.

Check to make sure that you are playing a note from the first 19 keys on the left hand side of the keyboard to start the accompaniment.
This is not a fault and is just the Auto Power Off’ function coming into play after 5 minutes of not using the keyboard. Press thePower’ button to switch back on.

Bluetooth MIDI cannot be connected from Bluetooth settings of the mobile phone or tablet.

This is not a fault. The Bluetooth MIDI connection needs to be made from the APP that supports Bluetooth MIDI such as `Garageband’. It cannot be made from Bluetooth Settings.
