Basic Operations
This iron features rapid Infrared Ray heating from the Ceramic heater and uses the Ceramic coated plates to protect hair condition.

Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. Keep heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and hair spray. If cleaning becomes necessary, disconnect the appliance from the power source and wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist it prior to use.

User Maintenance Instruction

Avoid any contact with the skin as the surface of the iron is too hot. When in frequent daily use, set the iron on a damp towel or in an iron holder between applications. Do not set the iron on delicate cabinet surfaces or near any flammable materials. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

  4. If an appliance falls into the water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water.

WARNING: To reduce the risk or burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:

  2.  This iron is hot when in use. Do not let eyes and bare skin touch heated surfaces.

  7. Never allow the power supply cord to be pulled, jerked, strained, twisted, or severely bent, especially at the plug connections. Damage will occur at the high fex point  entry into the appliance, causing it to rupture and short. Handle the cord carefully for longer life.

  8. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around the appliance.

  9. Never drop or insert any object(s) into any opening.

  10. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol spray products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

  11. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance

  12. Never use while sleeping.

  13. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack experience and knowledge  they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  14. Children should not play with the appliance.

  15. If it is not working properly or it has been dropped, damaged, or dropped into the water, return the appliance to Customer Service or examination and repair.

  16. When traveling internationally use the proper plug adapter.

  17. This appliance automatically converts voltage. Therefore, voltage converter is not needed and should not be used with this tool.

  18. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

BASIC OPERATIONS

  • Plug the appliance into the outlet prior to use.
  • Use + or – button to manually adjust heat settings.
  • For access to preset settings press the mode button. Preset temperatures are color coded based on hair type.
  • For Fine hair set to 180°C, Blue light.
  • For Medium hair set to 200°C, Green light.
  • For Coarse hair set to 220°C, Red light.
  • This iron features rapid Infrared Ray heating from the Ceramic heater, and uses the Ceramic coated plates to protect hair condition.

MAINTENANCE

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTION

  • The ceramic plates may be cleaned of product build-up using rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Be sure that the CHI® iron is turned off, unplugged, and cool to the touch before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleansers or materials on the ceramic plates, as this will damage the heating surface.
  • As with any electrical appliance, keep the CHI® iron away from water.
  • Never submerge the CHI® iron in water as it will damage the Iron, void the warranty, and may cause injury to persons or the risk are.
  • When not used, keep the Iron unplugged. Do not leave it in hot and humid places. If the cord of the Iron is twisted, untwist the cord before use.
  • Converters CANNOT be used. If you require a different voltage, please ask your distributor for the correct CHI® Hairstyling Iron.
  • Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Call Customer Service. (See “LIMITEDWARRANTY” Section).

GROUND INSTRUCTIONS, SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a means for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge the system and should be done only by a quailed service personnel. Replacement parts or a double-insulated
appliance must be identical to the parts they replace. A double-insulated appliance is marked with the words “DOUBLE INSULATION or DOUBLE INSULATED.” The symbol within a square may also be marked on the appliance.

Systems, Inc. appliances purchased through a professional salon.
This warranty does NOT cover appliances purchased through the internet or any other outlet.

LIMITED TWO-YEARWARRANTY

  • What Does ThisWarranty Cover?
    Any malfunction or defect caused by faulty materials or workmanship for any Farouk Systems, Inc. appliance that was purchased through a professional salon or other authorized distributor.

  • How Long Does TheWarranty Last?
    Two (2) years from the date of purchase.

  • Limitations. (A) THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIEDWARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, GOOD ANDWORKMANLIKE PERFORMANCE OF SERVICE, OR OTHERWISE, ON THIS PRODUCTARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY SET FORTH ABOVEWHICH IS TWO (2) YEARS FROMTHE DATE OF PURCHASE. (B) FAROUK SYSTEMS, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE

  • WhatWill Farouk Do? Farouk Systems, Inc. will repair or replace your appliance at no charge other than a $15.00 return shipping and handling fee. The replacement or repaired appliance is warranted for the remainder of the original two (2) year warranty period. If the tool sent in is no longer available, it will be replaced with a comparable tool.

  • What Does ThisWarranty Not Cover? This warranty does not cover any steel parts; plastic parts; fex cord; damages caused by negligence, misuse, tampering, alteration, failure to follow safety, operation or maintenance instructions; appliances purchased over the Internet or through any Internet auction site or from any other outlet that is not a professional salon; or alteration or removal of the serial number or other identifying marks on the appliance or the packaging. Further, this warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.

How to Make aWarranty Claim

Save your original receipt. Then Either (A) Return the appliance with the original receipt to the professional salon from which it was purchased where the appliance may be exchanged at no charge, depending on the retailer’s exchange policy
(terms and conditions may vary depending on store’s exchange policy); or (B) Contact Farouk Systems, Inc. Customer Service at 800-237-9175 if you have any questions regarding your tool. Send your tool, along with any completed warranty card that accompanied the tool at time of purchase, the original receipt indicating the location and date of purchase and a check or money order made payable to Farouk Systems, Inc. for $15 to cover shipping and handling, to the following address:

If you have had your tool for more than two years, a check or money order made payable to Farouk Systems, Inc. for $35 is required to repair or replace your tool. (United States Only: California residents are not required to send payment.)

Express or Registered Mail and keeping the tracking number or your records. You are responsible for the shipping charges to send your appliance to Farouk Systems, Inc. Farouk Systems, Inc. is not responsible for lost or stolen items or tools that are lost during shipping to Farouk Systems, Inc.

How Does State Law Apply?
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation of implied warranties may not apply to you.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
