Description
The BM060 Actuator is an electric actuator with a torque of 50 in.lb. (5.6 Nm) and a fail-safe feature. It operates as a Type 1 control and is independently mounted. It is certified with ISO 9001:2015 and complies with various safety regulations and directives.

Mechanical Installation
When installing the BM060 Actuator, follow these dimensions:

  • A = 1.50″ (38mm)
  • B = 3.64″ (93mm)
  • C = 6.60″ (168mm)
  • D = 3.02″ (77mm)

Wiring
It is strongly recommended to wire the BM060 Actuator to a separate grounded transformer that solely serves these products. This will prevent interference and potential damage to incompatible equipment. Refer to the provided PCB Analog wiring configuration for proper installation.

Settings
The BM060 Actuator has DIP switches for various settings:

| Feature| OFF| ON

---|---|---|---
1| Control Input Signal| | ✓
2| Rotation| ✓|
3| Fail-safe direction| | ✓
4| Running Time speed| | 30 sec *

  • Default setting with green status LED.

Auto-Stroke Adjustment
The auto-stroke feature of the BM060 Actuator is disabled by default but can be activated manually. To initiate the auto-stroke process:

  1. Press and release the push button while the unit is in normal operating mode (status LED flashes slowly 1Hz).
  2. The actuator will travel in both directions to find its limit and position itself according to the demand.
  3. The LEDs will extinguish when the process is complete.
  4. The status LED will then continue flashing slowly (1Hz).

BX Connector Attachment Installation

  1. Remove the strain release NP NEP617-2 by turning it
counterclockwise and slide it off the wires.

  2. Insert the conduit attachment and turn it clockwise until it
has been properly tightened onto the actuator attachment.

Recycling
At the end of its life, please return the BM060 Actuator to your Neptronic local distributor for recycling. To find the nearest Neptronic authorized distributor, consult www.neptronic.com.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • Q: Can I press the clutch when the actuator is in operation?
  • A: No, pressing the clutch during actuator operation can cause mechanical failure. Avoid doing so.

  • D = 3.02” (77mm)

Mechanical Installation

  1. Manually close the damper blades and position the actuator to 0º or 90º.
  2. Slide the actuator onto the shaft.
  3. Tighten the nuts on the “U” bolt to the shaft with an 8mm wrench to a torque of 60 in-lb [6.7 Nm].
  4. Slide the mounting bracket under the actuator. Ensure free movement of the slot at the base of the actuator. Place the bracket pin at mid-distance of the slot.
  5. Affix the bracket to the ductwork with #8 self-tapping screws.

Wiring
We strongly recommend that all products be wired to a separate grounded transformer and that transformer shall service only these products. This precaution will prevent interference with, and/or possible damage to incompatible equipment.

State Description
Flash Normal operation
Two flashes Position sensor defect
Three flashes Over torque
Rapid flash During the charging of capacitors

Auto-Stroke Adjustment

As a default, the auto-stroke feature is disabled and can only be activated manually. To initiate an auto-stroke process, press and release the push button while the unit is in the normal operating mode (status LED flashes slowly 1Hz). The status (green) LED will remain lit. The actuator travels in both directions to find its limit and position itself according to the demand. The LEDs will extinguish when the process is complete. The status LED will then continue flashing slowly (1Hz).

BX Connector Attachment Installation
  1. Remove the strain release NP NEP617-2 by turning it counterclockwise and sliding it off the wires.
  2. Insert the conduit attachment and turn it clockwise until it has been properly tightened onto the actuator attachment.
