Product Usage Instructions
- To ensure proper use of the generator and to maintain warranty coverage, please follow these instructions:
Registration and Proof of Purchase
- Register your unit and keep the proof of purchase available.
- This will be required for any warranty repairs or concerns.
Authorized Service Dealer
- Any warranty repairs or concerns must be performed and addressed by an Independent Authorized Service Dealer or branch thereof.
- Repairs or diagnostics performed by unauthorized individuals will not be covered.
Maintenance
- Perform all required maintenance as specified in the user manual.
- Keep proof of performance of all required maintenance available.
Consumer Usage
- This warranty is valid for personal household or recreational use. Using the generator for commercial or rental applications may have different warranty terms.
Proper Fuel, Speed, Load, and Installation
- Operate the generator with the recommended fuels, speeds, loads, and installations specified by Generac Power Systems. Failure to do so may void the warranty.
Non-OEM Parts and Equipment
- Avoid using non-Generac parts and/or equipment, contaminated fuels, or oils, as damage caused by these may not be covered by the warranty.
Improper Installation and Environment
- Ensure proper installation of the generator and avoid exposing steel components to harsh or saltwater environments. Scratches that compromise the integrity of applied paint may lead to rusting, which is not covered by the warranty.
Modified or Altered Products
- Do not modify or alter the generator in a manner not authorized by Generac in writing, as this may void the warranty.
Components Not Covered
- Starting batteries, fuses, light bulbs, engine fluids, and any related labour are not covered by the warranty.
Not Covered Applications
- Units sold, rated, or used for Prime Power, Trailer Mounted, or Rental Unit applications may have different warranty terms. Contact an Independent Authorized Service Dealer for definitions.
Incidental or Consequential Damages
- Any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages caused by defects in materials or workmanship, or any delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s), are not covered by the warranty.

- Q: How long is the warranty coverage for the generator?
- A: The warranty coverage is limited to three (3) years for consumer applications and two (2) years or 1000 hours maximum for commercial and rental applications.

Warranty
Generac Power Systems Limited 3-Year Warranty for Portable Generators
For the period of warranty noted below and beginning upon the successful
registration of the unit, Generac Power Systems, Inc. (Generac) warrants that
its Generator will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the
items and period set forth below. Generac will, at its discretion, repair or
replace any part(s) which, upon evaluation, inspection and testing by Generac
or an Independent Authorized Service Dealer, is found to be defective. Any
equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be evaluated by
the nearest Independent Authorized Service Dealer. Emissions warranty coverage
is detailed in a separate emissions warranty statement.

Consumer applications are warranted for three (3) years. Commercial and Rental applications are warranted for two (2) years or 1000 hours maximum, whichever comes first.
Guidelines
- The unit must be registered and/or proof of purchase available.
- All warranty repairs and/or concerns must be performed and/or addressed by an Independent Authorized Service Dealer, or branch thereof. Repairs or diagnostics performed by individuals other than Independent Authorized Generac Service Dealers not authorized in writing by Generac will not be covered.
- This warranty is non-transferable from the original owner.
- Generac may choose to repair, replace or refund a piece of equipment at its sole discretion.
- Damage that occurs after receipt of the generator, not caused by defects in materials or workmanship, is the responsibility of the owner and is not covered by this warranty.
- Damage to any covered components or consequential damages caused by the use of non-OEM parts will not be covered by the warranty.
- Proof of performance of all required maintenance must be available.
- For this warranty “consumer usage” means personal household or recreational use.
The following will NOT be covered by this warranty
- Costs of normal maintenance (i.e. tune-ups, associated part(s), adjustments, loose/leaking clamps, installation and start-up). Pickup or delivery of unit charges.
- Damage to the generator and/or transfer switch system caused by accidents, shipping, handling or improper storage.
- Damage/failures caused by operation with improper fuels, speeds, loads or installations other than what’s recommended or specified by Generac Power Systems.
- Damage to the generator due to use of non-Generac parts and/or equipment, contaminated fuels, or oils.
- Failures due to normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper installation, improper sizing, reptile, rodent and/ or insect infestation.
- Rental equipment used while warranty repairs are being performed and/or any extraordinary equipment used for removal and/ or reinstallation of generator (i.e. cranes, hoists, lifts, et. al.).
- Products that are modified or altered in a manner not authorized by Generac in writing.
- Starting batteries, fuses, light bulbs, engine fluids and any related labour.
- Steel components that rust as a result of improper installation, location in a harsh or saltwater environment, or are scratched where the integrity of applied paint is compromised.
- Units sold, rated or used for “Prime Power, “Trailer Mounted” or “Rental Unit” applications as defined by Generac. Contact an Independent Authorized Service Dealer for definitions.
- Shipping costs associated with expedited freight.
- Additional costs for overtime, holiday or emergency labour costs for repairs outside normal business hours.
- Any incidental, consequential or indirect damages caused by defects in materials or workmanship, or any delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s).
- Failures caused by any act of God or external cause including without limitation, fire, theft, freezing, war, lightning, earthquake, windstorm, hail, water, tornado, hurricane, or any other matters which are reasonably beyond the manufacturer’s control.
THIS WARRANTY SUPERSEDES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. SPECIFICALLY, GENERAC MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES AS TO THE MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT ARE ALLOWED BY LAW, SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE TERMS OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. PURCHASER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND GENERAC’S ONLY LIABILITY SHALL BE THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF PART(S) AS STATED ABOVE. IN NO EVENT SHALL GENERAC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, EVEN IF SUCH DAMAGES ARE A DIRECT RESULT OF GENERAC’S NEGLIGENCE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
FOR AUSTRALIA ONLY: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be
excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement
or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably
foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired
or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does
not amount to a major failure.
FOR NEW ZEALAND ONLY: Nothing in this warranty statement excludes,
restricts or modifies any condition, warranty right or remedy which according
to the New Zealand Legislation (Commonwealth or State) including the Fair
Trading Practices Act of 1986 or the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (“CGA”)
applies to this limited warranty and may not be so excluded, restricted or
modified. Nothing in this statement is intended to have the effect of
contracting out of the provisions of the CGA, except to the extent permitted
by that Act, and these terms are to be modified to the extent necessary to
give effect to that intention. If you acquire goods from Generac Power Systems
or any of its authorized resellers and distributors for a business, then
according to section 43(2) of the CGA, it is agreed that the provisions of the
CGA do not apply.
