ASSUMBLY INSTRUCTION

How to set RAID mode?

1. The default setting of hard drive enclosure is under PM (Normal) mode.
2.  Toggle the “RAID control switch” to the RAID mode you need. While pressing and holding the “Set” button, press the “Power” button to turn it on. Press and hold the “Set” button until you can see the New Disk in the “disk management/disk utility”. Then the RAID mode is set successfully
3. HDD or HDD group will be displayed on computer with completion of the RAID mode setting. After initialization, partitioning and formatting, you can start to use it.

How to change RAID mode

1. Set back to PM (Normal) Mode. Firstly, turn off the enclosure, then toggle the RAI Dcontrol switch at the back to the “Normal” position, then press and hold the “SET” button, turn on the hard drive enclosure. The PM (Normal) mode will be successfully switchedin15-20 seconds.
2. Check if it’s under PM (Normal) Mode, then turn off the enclosure.
3. Followthe Set UpRAID steps to change Raid Modes.

The enclosure is in RAID Mode. How to rebuild RAID

1. Find the bad drive. Eject and power off the enclosure in order.

2. Pull out the bad drive. Format the new drive on another device first. Then insert the new drive ( the same capacity or bigger ) to the original position and turn on the enclosure.

3. Restart the enclosure and the enclosure will start rebuilding automatically. The light will
   flash red and blue. If you downloaded our RAID Manager software, you could see the RAID is rebuilding from the notes or logs on the RAID Manager software. The rebuilding time depends on the capacity of all drives, please wait patiently while rebuilding.

4. When the rebuilding is finished, the light will turn solid blue. And the RAID Manager will indicate the status. Note: The RAID Manager software is only suitable for 4 bay, 5 bay model.

1. Turn off the HDD enclosure, Switch to “Normal” Mode, Press” Set” button and turn on power switch, 10s later, It will buzz when the setting is completed
2. Turn off HDD enclosure, Switch to RAID Mode (Choice raid mode), Press”Set” button and turn on power switch, release the “Set” button after about 10s, It will buzz when Raid setting is completed
3. DDs or HDD group displayed on computer if Set RAID Success, it can be started to use after initiating and partitioned formatting. (If HDDs or HDD group aren’t displayed on computer, please try to restart the enclosure and computer, or reset RAID Mode again)

Set RAID through ORICO HW RAID Manager Software

How to download Software? http://www.orico.cc/us/download.html
Choice Windows/Mac-Download and install Software – Run Setup.exe

1. The software will appear on PC desktop ORICO HW RAID Ma
2. Open the Raid setting, choose RAID mode and then click the left apply button
3. Click “Yes” and setting start; (click “No to cancel)
4. Raid mode displayed on computer and it can be started to use after initiating and partitioned formatting.
