SINGLE/DUPLEX RECEPTACLE WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
- Select round cord size and type for proper load and application
- Refer to the National Electrical Code,
- Article 400, for cord information.
- Strip the cord jacket 1″. Strip all three (3) conductors per strip gauge (1/2″) and twist leads to eliminate frayed end.
- Make sure all three (3) terminal screws are
- BACKED OUT TO FULLEST POSITION (do not use excessive force) so that terminal wire nut is past wire entrance hole so that conductor leads may pass through unobstructed.
- Insert stripped conductors into individual wiring pockets. Green screw for green grounding wire, white (silver) screw for white neutral wire, and brass (yellow) screw for black hot wire. Tighten each screw as each conductor is inserted. Use 12-15 in-lbs. Torque.
- Always use a screwdriver with proper width tip and length. (Approx. .037 x 1/4″ wide x 6″/8″ long).
