Installation and operating instructions
General instructions
Read this user manual carefully before installation and use. Save the manual
for future use.
The product may only be used for what appears in these installation and
operating instructions.
The guarantee only applies if the instructions have been followed and the
product was used as described.
Areas of use
Panther FC 6-15 is a very quiet series and efficient heater fans intended for
heating and drying in e.g. workshops, sports halls, shops and meeting rooms.
Protection class: IP44.
Mounting
Heating fan Panther is mounted on the wall with included wall bracket. The
bracket makes it possible to angle the heating fan downwards and to the sides
(30° to the left or right). The product must mounted so that future service
and maintenance can be performed. For minimum distance, see figure on
introductory pages.
The wall bracket is mounted on the fan heater in order to not be damaged
during transport.
- Detach the wall bracket from the appliance by taking remove the lower screws.
- Mark and drill holes in the wall, with the console as a template.
- Mount the bracket on the wall in the desired position (straight ahead, to the left or to Right). Use screws and plugs adapted to the wall.
- Loosen the upper screws approximately 10 mm and hang the device on the console.
- Adjust the heating fan to the desired angle, fix with the bottom screws on both sides off the device.
- Make sure all screws are tight.
See pictures in the introduction pages.
Electrical installation
The heating fan is intended for fixed installation.
The installation, which must be preceded by an all-pole switches with a
switching distance of at least 3 mm, must be carried out by a qualified
installer and in accordance with this user manual and current regulations.
**** For all service, repair and maintenance, the power supply to the device must be disconnected.
Electrical installation is done on the back of the unit.
Perforate the penetration with a chisel before the cable is pushed through.
Open the unit’s cover after loosening its four screws to access the switch
room. Wiring diagram is on the inside of the lid. Power supply is connected to
designated terminal block.
See connection diagrams.
Regulation
Panther FC is prepared for FC control system. FC available in several different packages. The FC packages are ordered separate. The heating fan has an integrated control board that connects to selected external control system FC. Communication and sensor cables are connected to the control board via through-holes on the device back.
If more than one heating fan is to be controlled by one common FC, the system
needs to be supplemented with an additional communication cable FCBC per unit.
Settings are made on the FC control panel. See manual for FC. FC activates
fallback; when the heat is turned off, the fan continues to run moment to cool
off the heating elements.
Start-up
When the device is used for the first time or after a longer break, smoke may appear or odors from accumulated dust or dirt on the elements. This is completely normal and disappears after a short while.
Overheating
The heating fan is provided with overheating protection. If it has triggered due to overheating, it is reset as follows:
- Break the current with the all-pole switch.
- Determine the cause and correct the error as caused the overheating.
- Reset by removing the cover and press the red button on the temperature limiter until a click is heard. See images in the introductory pages.
- Screw the lid on and connect the heating fan again.
ATTENTION! All work inside the appliance connection space must be made by a qualified specialist and in a voltage-free state!
Care
Because the fan motors and others components are maintenance-free, nothing is
required maintenance other than regular cleaning, how often depends on local
circumstances however, at least twice a year. Intake and exhaust grilles, fan
wheels and elements can vacuumed or wiped with a dry cloth. At vacuuming use a
brush so as not to damage fragile parts. Avoid strongly alkaline or acidic
cleaning agents.
Earth fault circuit breaker
When the installation is protected by earth-fault circuit breakers and this
triggers when the connection can this is due to moisture in the heating
elements. When a unit that contains heating elements not used for a long time
or stored in a humid environment, moisture can penetrate. this is not to be
regarded as an error but is most easily rectified by connecting the unit via a
socket without earth-fault circuit breaker, whereby the elements dry.
The drying time can vary from a few hours to one couple of days. For
preventive purposes, it is suitable that the facility is put into operation
for shorter periods of time during longer periods of non-use.
Packaging
The packaging materials are chosen with consideration to the environment and
are therefore recyclable.
Handling of expired product
This product may contain, for the function necessary, but environmentally
harmful substances and therefore must not be thrown away among ordinary people
household waste when no longer in use, but must be handed over to a recycling
station.
More information about where and how recycling must take place can be obtained
from the local authorities or where the product was purchased.
Security
-
For all installations of electrically heated products should earth fault circuit breaker 300 mA for fire protection be used.
-
Ensure that the area around the device’s suction and exhaust grilles are kept free of material which can obstruct the air flow through the device!
-
The device must not be covered in whole or in part as overheating of the device can result fire hazard!
-
The device must not be placed directly under fixed wall socket!
-
This appliance can be used by children over 8 years and by people with reduced physical, emotional or mental capacity, and by people with a lack of experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or that they receive instructions regarding safe use of the device and its contents dangers. Children must not play with the device.
Cleaning and maintenance must be carried out by the user and must not be performed by children without monitoring. -
Keep children under 3 years of age away from appliance or monitor them closely.
-
Children between the ages of 3 and 8 may only switch the device on and off if it is placed or installed on the normal the place of use and the children are supervised carefully and instructed in the safe use of the device and the risks involved.
-
Children between the ages of 3 and 8 may not enter plug, adjust, clean or maintain the device.
WARNING: Some parts of the device may become very hot and cause burns. Where especially attentive if there are children or sensitive people nearby.
