Product Usage Instructions
Installation of Casing Guide
- Insert the clamp insert (item 1) into the casing guide (item 2) with the small hole for the cable core wire aligned with the long axis. The core wire hole should be oriented as shown in figure 1.
- If required (for engines under 40 HP and some older models), attach the latch (item 3) to retain the casing guide to the lever. Carefully spread the ears of the latch and snap it in place over the ends of the clamp insert as shown in figure 1.
- Hold the insert in position and feed the core wire through it. The core wire must pass fully through the insert and bottom in the casing guide (see figure 2).
- While holding the assembly in place, thread one clamp screw (item 4) into the insert until it touches the core wire, then add one more full turn. Repeat this step with the second clamp screw on the opposite end of the insert.
Attaching Cable to Engine
- Install and adjust the control cable to the engine according to the engine manufacturer’s instructions. Cable travel can be adjusted by rotating the cable adjustment nut in the appropriate direction (see figure 2).
Notice: Before operating the boat, recheck all hardware for security and re-torque as necessary. The boat should be operated with caution until the engine control system has been thoroughly checked under normal operating conditions to ensure correct installation and proper functioning.

- Install camp insert ( item 1) into casing guide (item 2) with a small hole for cable core wire aligned with the long axis. The core wire hole is offset and must be oriented as shown in figure 1.
- In some cases (under 40 HP and on some older models) a latch is required to retain the casing guide to the lever. If required, carefully spread the ears of the latch (item 3) and snap in place over the ends of the clamp insert as shown in figure 1.
- Hold Insert in position and feed the core wire through Insert. The core wire must pass fully through the insert and bottom in the casing guide (see Figure 2).
- Holding the assembly in place, thread one clamp screw (item 4) into the insert until it touches the core wire, then add one more full turn. This kinks the core wire and helps prevent the wire from pulling free. Thread the second clamp screw (item 4) into the opposite end of the Insert until it touches the core wire, then add one more full turn
CAUTION!
Do not overtighten screws. Excessive torque may break the core wire.
Attaching cable to the engine
- Install and adjust the control cable to the engine by the engine manufacturer’s instructions. Cable travel may be adjusted by rotating the cable adjustment nut in the appropriate direction (see Figure 2).
CAUTION!
Do not attempt to adjust cable travel by moving the casing guide on the core
wire.
NOTICE!
Before operating the boat, recheck all hardware for security and re-torque as
necessary. The boat should be operated with caution until the engine control
system has been thoroughly checked out under normal operating conditions to
ensure that the installation is correct and functioning properly.
