Product Usage Instructions

Installation

  1. Place the support foot (A) in its seat, making sure it is securely positioned according to the support foot positioning indicator.

  2. Align the Isofix connectors (D) with the Isofix anchoring points (K) on the car seat.

  3. Press the base firmly into the car seat until you hear a click and see the red/green indicators (E) turn green, indicating that the base is securely hooked onto the car seat.

  4. To release the base from the car seat, press and hold the release buttons (H) while lifting the base.

  5. Place the seat on the base, aligning the Isofix connectors (J) with the Isofix connectors (D) on the base.

  6. Press the seat firmly onto the base until you hear a click and see the red/green indicators (G) turn green, indicating that the seat is securely hooked onto the base.

  7. To release the seat from the base, press and hold the release buttons (H) while lifting the seat.

FAQ

Q: What should I do if the product is damaged or missing components?
A: If the product is damaged, not equipped with the instruction manual, or any component is missing, please contact the Inglesina authorized Retailer or Customer Care Service immediately.

Q: Can I use the product for purposes not indicated in the instructions?
A: No, it is important to use the product only for purposes expressly indicated in the instructions. Using the product for other purposes may compromise safety.

A: The product should be handwashed in cold water. Do not bleach, tumble dry, iron, or dry clean.

SAFETY

  • Do not use the Huggy Isofix base after 5 years from the date of production indicated on the product; due to the normal ageing of the materials, it might be no more complying with the regulations in force.
  • Before assembling, verify that the product and all its components have not been subject to damages during transport. Should this be the case, do not use the product and keep it out of reach of children.
  • Before using the product, for the safety of your child, remove and eliminate all plastic bags and elements belonging to the packaging and, in any case, keep the same out of reach of newborns and children.
  • Avoid inserting fingers inside mechanisms.
  • The Inglesina Huggy Isofix base can be used only together with the Inglesina Huggy Multifix infant car seat.
  • Use the Inglesina Huggy Isofix base only on the motor vehicles included in the enclosed list, which can also be examined by visiting the website: inglesina.com. In case of doubt, refer to the Manufacturer or Retailer.
  • Do not use the Inglesina Huggy car system, if:
    • it was subject to accident, even to a slight one. It may have been subject to invisible damages. The car system has to be replaced with a new one to assure the safety level.
    • it is damaged, not equipped with the instruction manual, or any component is missing. Contact the Inglesina authorized Retailer or Customer Care Service immediately.
    • if it is second-hand. There could be extremely dangerous structural damage.
  • Verify the correct hooking of all components of the Inglesina Huggy car system before each travel and/or when the vehicle is subject to periodical checks, maintenance, and cleaning. Other people may have tampered with and/or unhooked the Inglesina Huggy car system and may not have repositioned the same properly pursuant to the instructions.

HINTS FOR USE

  • Do not use the child seat in positions or configurations other than those illustrated in this handbook.
  • Do not use the product, unless all its components are properly fastened and adjusted.
  • Assembly, disassembly and adjustment operations must be carried out only by adults. Make sure that the person using the product (baby-sitter, grandparents, etc.) are aware of the correct operation of the same.

USE OF INGLESINA HUGGY CAR SYSTEM IN THE CAR

  • CAUTION! Install the Inglesina Huggy car system ONLY IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO THE DRIVING ONE. Never install it on seats positioned in opposite direction or transversely to the ordinary vehicle driving direction.
  • DANGER! The Inglesina Huggy car system IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED ON SEATS EQUIPPED WITH ACTIVE FRONTAL AIRBAGS!
  • Make sure that reclining seats are blocked in vertical position pursuant to the instruction of the car’s manufacturer.
  • During your journey, refrain from leaving unattended objects or bags in the car: make sure that they are stored securely as, in the event of an accident, they can cause injury.

MANUFACTURER’S CONVENTIONAL WARRANTY

  • The warranty conditions herein are compliant with European Directive 99/44/ EC of May 25 1999 as amended, and is valid for countries within the European Community. Other warranty conditions for specific countries are provided in detail on the web site: inglesina.com in the Warranty and Assistance section.

  • Inglesina Baby S.p.A. guarantees that this article has been designed and manufactured in accordance with general product, quality and safety standards/ regulations currently in force in the European Community and countries of marketing.

  • Inglesina Baby S.p.A. guarantees that during and upon completion of the production process this product was subject to various quality checks. Inglesina
    Baby Spa guarantees that at the time of purchase at the Authorised retailer this article did not have any assembly or factory defects.

  • If this article should present defects in the materials and/or factory defects discovered at the time of purchase or during normal use, in accordance with the descriptions provided in the instructions herein, Inglesina Baby S.p.A. recognises the validity of the warranty conditions for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase.

  • The duration of the warranty is envisioned for 24 consecutive months and is valid for the first owner of this article.

  • The warranty is understood as the free replacement or repair of parts that are inherently defective or that present factory defects.
    Be sure to store the original bill of sale from the time you purchase the product; make sure that it states, in a clearly legible manner, the date of purchase.

  • The warranty conditions herein automatically expire if:

    • the product is used for purposes that are not expressly indicated in the instructions herein.
    • the product is not used in compliance with the instructions herein.
    • the product has been repaired by unauthorised and unaffiliated Customer Care centres.
    • either the structural or fabric part of the product has been modified and/ or tampered with, and not expressly authorised by the manufacturer. Any modifications made to the products relieve Inglesina Baby S.p.A. of any liability.
    • the defect is due to negligent or careless use (ex. violent shocks to the structural parts, exposure to aggressive chemical substances, etc.).
    • the product presents normal wear (ex. wheels, moving parts, fabrics) deriving from an envisioned prolonged and continuous daily use.
    • the product is sent to the retailer for assistance without the original copy of the bill of sale or when the date of purchase is not clearly legible on the bill.
  • Any damage caused by the use of accessories not supplied and/or not approved by L’Inglesina Baby, shall be excluded from our terms of warranty.

  • L’Inglesina Baby S.p.A. declines all liability for any damages to property or people resulting from the improper and/or incorrect use of the product.

  • After the warranty period has expired the Company nevertheless guarantees a customer care service for its products for a maximum period of four (4) years from the date of introduction onto the market of said products, after which the possibility of assistance will be assessed case by case.

  • In order to improve its products, L’Inglesina Baby S.p.A. reserves the right to update and/or modify any and all aesthetic-technical details without prior notice.

PARTS / AFTER SALES SERVICES

  • Regularly inspect all safety devices to ensure perfect product functionality along the time. In case of problems and/or malfunctions of any kind do not use the product. In this event, contact an Authorized Retailer or Inglesina Customer Care Service promptly.
  • Do not use spare parts or accessories not supplied and/or in any case not approved by L’Inglesina Baby.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE

  • If you require assistance for your product, immediately contact the Inglesina
    Retailer that sold it to you, with the “Serial Number” relative to said object ready on hand (the “Serial Number” is available from the 2010 Collection).

  • It is the Retailer’s task to contact Inglesina to assess the most suitable method of intervention case by case and then provide the next step.

  • The Inglesina Customer Care Service is nevertheless available to provide all necessary information, by written request sent in by filling out the form provided on the website: inglesina.com – Warranty and Assistance section.

HINTS FOR CLEANING AND MAINTAINING THE PRODUCT

  • Never force any mechanisms or moving parts; in case of doubt, check the instruction first.
  • Store the product in a dry place.
  • Protect the product against atmospheric agents, water, rain or snow; moreover, continuous and prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause changes in the colour of many materials.
  • Clean the plastic and metal parts with a wet cloth or with a mild detergent; do not use solvents, ammonia or benzine.
  • Carefully dry metal parts after any contact with water in order to avoid the formation of rust.
  • It is recommended to wash the lining separately from other items.
  • Periodically revive the fabric parts using a soft brush for garments.
  • Respect the washing regulations for the textile lining born on the suitable labels.

Dry the textile lining completely before using or storing it.

  • CAUTION! Never wash the straps; just wipe them with a cloth and a gentle detergent.

IMPORTANT

  • Verify where the Isofix anchoring points are positioned on the seat of the car and check that they are free from any materials that could prevent their correct use.
  • Verify that on the seat of the car there are not any items that may hinder the correct leaning of the car base to the seat.
  • Verify that the floor of the car is free from any materials that may hinder the correct grip of the support foot.
  • Verify that the backrest is in vertical position and the seat where the car base has to be installed is NOT EQUIPPED WITH FRONT AIRBAG.
  • Install the Huggy Isofix base exclusively in THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO THE DRIVING ONE.

POSITIONING AND INSTALLATION OF THE INGLESINA HUGGY CAR SYSTEM

  • fig. 2 Extract the support foot (A) from beneath the car base until the suitable indicator (B) signals GREEN.
  • fig. 3 Act on the release lever (C) and simultaneously extract the Isofix connectors (D) from the car base completely.
  • fig. 4 Remove the protection plugs (J) from the base Isofix connectors by pressing the two release buttons (H).
  • fig. 5 Fasten the base connectors (D) to the seat Isofix anchoring points (K) until hearing clearly both CLICK sounds signalling the occurred hooking.
  • fig. 6 CAUTION: the correct hooking of the Huggy Isofix base occurs when the proper indicators (E) from RED become GREEN.
  • fig. 7 Check that the Huggy Isofix base is properly hooked on both sides.
  • fig. 8 Adjust the height of the support foot (A) acting on the proper lever (F) until touching the car floor. Release the lever (F) making sure that the extensible part of the support foot remains blocked in its position.

CAUTION: it is important that the foot is firmly leaning on the car floor also if the base is slightly lifted from the seat.

  • fig. 9 Install the Huggy Multifix car seat on the Huggy Isofix base until hearing on both sides the CLICK signalling the occurred hooking.
  • fig. 10 The correct hooking of the Huggy Multifix car seat occurs when the proper indicators (G) from RED become GREEN. Make sure that the seat is properly hooked, trying to lift it.

CAUTION: if the base Isofix connectors (D) are not duly hooked, the Inglesina Huggy car system does not allow the correct installation of the car seat on the base, as a consequence do not force the hooking.

  • fig. 11 After having hooked the Huggy Multifix ar seat on the Huggy Isofix base, press the two buttons (L) simultaneously and rotate the handle of the seat to the most forward position. Make sure that the two buttons (L) completely come out, after having arranged the handle to the proper position.
  • fig. 12 Act on the release lever (C) to release the first blocking device of the car base. Then, push the base with the seat against the car seat until it leans completely on the same.
  • fig. 13 Verify once again that the Inglesina Huggy car system is properly hooked.

REMOVAL OF THE INGLESINA HUGGY CAR SYSTEM

  • fig. 14 By pressing the two buttons (L) simultaneously, rotate the seat handle to the vertical position and, by acting on the rear lever (I), lift it from the Huggy Isofix base by holding it from the handle.
  • fig. 15 Shorten the car base support foot (A), acting on the proper lever (F).
  • fig. 16 Then, release the Isofix connectors (D) from the Isofix anchoring points (K) on the car seat by pressing the two release buttons (H).

CAUTION: the release button (H) remain blocked until the seat remains installed on the base.
