SAFETY

THIS CHILD CAR SEAT DOES NOT GUARANTEE PROTECTION FROM INJURY IN ALL SITUATIONS. HOWEVER, USING IT APPROPRIATELY CAN REDUCE INJURY AND PREVENT DEATH.

  •  Read carefully and understand how to use the product before using it. Pay utmost care to the highlighted warnings. Keep the instruction manual always together with the child car seat; in the front area, under the seat, there is a suitable storage area where this manual can be stored.

IMPORTANT: the Cab 0+ child car seat is a restraint system (group 0+) homologated according to the Regulation ECE 44/04 for children weighting up to 13 kg ; when used alone or with the Cab Base, it is classified as UNIVERSAL restraint system.

  •  Premature babies, born at less than 37 weeks’ gestation, may be at risk in the child car seat. They may have respiratory problems when sat in the child car seat. Before leaving the hospital, consult your Doctor or hospital personnel to obtain information on the most suitable child restraint system for your baby.
  • Do not use the child car seat with children weighing more than 13 kg or if the shoulders extend beyond the slots for the back straps when the backrest is adjusted to maximum extension. The Cab 0+ child car seat is suitable for general use in vehicles and compatible with most, but not all, vehicle seats.
  • The use of the Cab 0+ child car seat on board cars alone or together with the Cab base is envisaged only on vehicles equipped with 3-point safety belts with retractors, homologated according to the Regulation UN/ECE No. 16 or other equivalent standards. Check in the car manual in which positions it is possible to install the child car seat. In case of doubt, contact the Manufacturer or authorized Retailer immediately.
  • Do not use the Cab 0+ child seat after 7 years from the date of production indicated on the product; due to the natural ageing of the materials, it might not be complying anymore with the regulations in force.
  •  Do not use the Inglesina Cab car system, if:
    •  it was subject to accident, even to a slight one. It may have been subject to invisible damages. The car system has to be replaced with a new one to assure the safety level.
    •  it is damaged, not equipped with the instruction manual, or any component is missing. Contact the Inglesina authorized Retailer or Customer Care Service immediately.
    • if it is second-hand. There could be extremely dangerous structural damage.
  •  Verify the correct hooking of all components of the Inglesina Cab car system before each travel and/or when the vehicle is subject to periodical checks, maintenance, and cleaning. Other people may have tampered with and/or unhooked the Inglesina Cab car system and may not have repositioned the same properly pursuant to the instructions.
  •  Avoid inserting fingers inside mechanisms.
SAFETY BELTS

WARNING: Always secure the child with the safety straps provided (also when carrying by hand).

  •  Adjust the backrest position in accordance with the height of the child so that the back straps are behind the shoulders. Always ensure that the harness is adjusted so that it adheres to the child’s body.
  •  RISK OF STRANGULATION! If the straps are very loose the child could be strangled. Never leave the child in the child car seat if straps are loose or unfastened.
  •  The child’s clothing should not interfere with safety straps and buckles.

USE AND INSTALLATION

  •  CORRECT USE AND INSTALLATION OF THE CHILD CAR SEAT CAN BE A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH. THE CHILD CAR SEAT MUST BE INSTALLED IN STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED. FAILURE TO OBSERVE INSTRUCTIONS/WARNINGS CAN SERIOUSLY COMPROMISE YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY.
  • Before assembling, verify that the product and all its components have not been subject to damages during transport. Should this be the case, do not use the product and keep it out of reach of children.
  •  Before using the product, for the safety of your child, remove and eliminate all plastic bags and elements belonging to the packaging and, in any case, keep the same out of reach of newborns and children.
  • Do not use the product, unless all its components are properly fastened and adjusted.
  • Do not use the product if any components are broken or missing.
  •  Assembly, disassembly and adjustment operations must be carried out only by adults. Make sure that the person using the product (baby-sitter, grandparents, etc.) are aware of the correct operation of the same.
  •  Check that all locking mechanism that attach/tighten the child car seat to the vehicle seat/to the base/to the chassis are secured correctly before and during use.
USE OF THE CAB 0+ CHILD CAR SEAT ON BOARD OF CARS
  •  Do not use the child car seat in positions or configurations other than those illustrated in this user manual.
  •  The certification UN ECE 44/04 will be invalidated if you make any modifications to the child car seat.
  • Do not remove the adhesive and sewn labels. The removal of these labels could result in the product not complying with the law.
  •  Do not use adapters other than those supplied with the product or in any case non approved by the Manufacturer for the specific usage group.
  •  Never use the child car seat without the lining and the shoulder pads. They cannot be replaced with others unapproved by the manufacturer as they are an integral part of the child restraint system and are essential for safety purposes.
  •  Check if there are any special requirements related to the use of restraint systems in the law in force in the country you are in.

CAUTION: Position the Inglesina Cab car system ONLY IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO THE DRIVING ONE. Never install on seats facing rearward or crosswise with respect to the vehicle’s normal direction of travel.

  •  HAZARD! Do not use Cab 0+ child car seat in vehicle seats where an active frontal airbag is installed.
  •  Make sure that reclining seats are blocked in vertical position pursuant to the instruction of the car’s manufacturer.
  •  When using the Cab 0+ child car seat together with the Cab Base, before installing it, read the dedicated instructions carefully.
  • Check that all straps are always fastened and tensioned properly. Periodically check child car seat straps for proper retaining performance.
  •  Check that straps with buckles are not twisted and are not trapped in the car door or the mobile parts of the child seat.
  •  Check that rigid items and plastic parts of the child car seat are located and installed so that they are not liable, during everyday use of the vehicle, to become trapped by a movable seat or in a door of the vehicle.
  •  Do not to use any load bearing contact points other than those described in the instructions and marked in the child car seat.
  • During your journey, refrain from leaving unattended objects or bags in the car: make sure that they are stored securely as, in the event of an accident, they can cause injury.
  •  During your journey, all car occupants must wear a safety belt, in compliance with the law in force in the country of use: in case of accident, they may unintentionally injure the child, even if the child car seat is used properly.
  •  Never remove the child from the child car seat when the vehicle is moving; in case of need, stop as soon as possible in a safe place.
  • Any adjustment of the child car seat by the driver is prohibited while travelling. In case of need, stop as soon as possible in a safe place.
  • When travelling, never hold your child in your arms or allow him to sit outside the child car seat.
  • Never leave your child unattended in the vehicle.
  •  When getting out of the car, even for a short time, ensure that you always take your child with you.
  •  Make sure that you are always on the pavement side when you position your child in the child car seat.
  •  Safe and appropriate driving behaviour is recommended: the child car seat is an effective restrain system but is not, on its own, sufficient to avoid severe injury in the event of a violent car crash. Please bear in mind that accidents, even those which occur at low speed, can be extremely dangerous for all car passengers.
  •  Always keep the child car seat fastened to the vehicle seat, even when the child car seat is empty.
  •  Protect the product from dust or residues which may hinder the correct operation of devices.
  •  When vehicle is fully occupied lighter passengers should sit in the rear and heavier ones in the front.
  •  Car interiors can become very hot if the vehicle is left in direct sunlight. Cover the child car seat with a towel when it is not in use to prevent its components from overheating and cause injuries to the delicate skin of your child.
  • During long journeys take frequent breaks as the child will tire easily.
USE OF THE CAB 0+ CHILD CAR SEAT AS SEAT UNIT ON INGLESINA CHASSIS
  • When the Cab 0+ child car seat is used with specific chassis, it complies also with the EN1888 standard; therefore, it can be used as seat unit in a Travel System.
  • When the child car seat is used as a Travel System, use it parent facing and with Inglesina compatible chassis only, always verifying its proper hooking.
  •  Use exclusively together with Inglesina chassis specifically arranged and equipped with Easy Clip hooking system. In case of doubt, visit the website inglesina.com or refer to an Authorized Retailer or to the Inglesina Customer Care Service.
  •  Carefully read the instructions concerning the use of the chassis or of the modular system, when attaching the child car seat.
  • If coupling/decoupling the child car seat onto/from the chassis with the baby inside the child car seat always make sure the belts are safely fastened. Bear in mind that doing these tasks with the baby in the child car seat can be more cumbersome and awkward. When placing the child car seat onto the chassis or removing it, always check that the baby or his/her garments do not get entangled.
  • Never leave your child unattended.
  • Ensure that all the locking devices are engaged before use.
  • To avoid injury, ensure that your child is kept away when unfolding and folding this product.
  • Do not let your child play with this product.
  • Always use the restraint system.
  • Check that the child car seat attachment devices are correctly engaged before use.
  •  This product is not suitable for running or skating.
  • Never place the product close to stairs or steps.
  •  Use only on a flat, stable and dry surface.
  • Do not leave the product on a slope with the baby inside, even if the brake is engaged. Brake efficiency is limited on high gradients.
  •  Do not take stairs or escalators when the child is in the product.
  •  Do not open, fold or disassemble the product with the baby inside.
  •  In any case, be particularly careful when performing these tasks with the child nearby.
  •  Do not leave the baby in the product when travelling on other public transport means (eg. train, bus, subway, airplane etc.).
USE OF CAB 0+ AS HOUSEHOLD RECLINED CRADLE
  •  The Cab 0+ child car seat complies also with the EN12790 standard; therefore, it can be used as a household reclined cradle.

WARNING

  • Never leave the child unattended.
  •  Stop using the product when the child starts trying to sit up.
  • Never use this product on an elevated surface (e.g. a table).
  •  Always use the restraint system.
  • Never let the child sleep in this product. This product does not replace a cot or a crib. Should the child fall asleep, then it should be placed in a suitable cot or crib.
  •  Do not use the product if any components are broken, torn or missing.
  •  FALL HAZARD: Child’s movement can slide the product. Never place product on countertops, tables, steps, other elevated surfaces or close to stairs. Always use on a flat, stable and dry floor.
  •  SUFFOCATION HAZARD: NEVER use on a soft surface (bed, sofa, cushion), as seat may tip over and cause suffocation.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

  •  Inglesina Baby S.p.A. guarantees that every article has been designed and manufactured in compliance with the general product quality and safety standards/regulations in force in the European Union and the countries it is marketed in.
  • Inglesina Baby S.p.A. guarantees that during and after the manufacturing process, every product has undergone various quality controls. Inglesina Baby S.p.A. guarantees that, at the time of purchase from the Authorised retailer, every product had no installation or manufacturing defects.
  •  This warranty does not invalidate the rights acknowledged to the consumer by the applicable national legislation, which may vary depending on the country in which the product was purchased and the provisions of which, in the event of a contrast, prevail over the contents of the warranty herein.
  • In the event of material or manufacturing defects detected at the time of purchase or during normal use, as described in the relevant instruction manual, Inglesina Baby S.p.A. grants a consecutive 24-month warranty from the date of purchase.
  •  The warranty is only valid in the country where the product was purchased and if it was purchased from an Authorised Retailer.
  • The warranty acknowledged is valid for the first owner of the product purchased.
  •  The warranty covers the replacement or repair free of charge of parts with factory defects. Inglesina Baby S.p.A. reserves the right to decide at its sole discretion whether to apply the warranty via the repair or the replacement of the product.
  •  To apply the warranty, the product serial number needs to be presented, along with a copy of the receipt issued at the time of purchase of the product, making sure that the date of purchase is indicated in a clearly legible form.
  •  This warranty will be automatically made null and void in the event that:
    •  the product is used for purposes that are not expressly indicated in the relevant instruction manual.
    •  the product is not used in compliance with the relevant instruction manual.
    •  the product has been repaired by unauthorised and unaffiliated Customer Care centres.
    • the structural or textile part of the product has been modified and/or tampered with, without prior expressed authorisation by the manufacturer. Any modifications made to the products relieve Inglesina Baby S.p.A. from any liability.
    • the defect is due to negligent or careless use (e.g., violent shocks to the structural parts, exposure to aggressive chemical substances, etc.).
    •  the product presents normal wear (e.g., wheels, moving parts, fabrics) due to prolonged and continuous use.
    • the product has been damaged, even accidentally, by the owner himself/herself or by third parties (for instance when it has been sent as luggage in air freight or using other means).
    • the product is sent to the retailer for assistance without the original receipt and/or without the serial number or when the date of purchase on the receipt and/or the serial number are not clearly legible.
  • Any damage caused by the use of accessories not supplied and/or not approved by Inglesina Baby, shall not be covered by the warranty.
  • Inglesina Baby S.p.A. shall not be held liable for any damage to property or injuries to persons resulting from the improper and/or misuse of the product.
  • After the warranty period has expired, the Company guarantees customer care service for consideration for its products for a maximum period of four (4) years from the date said products were placed on the market; after this period, assistance interventions will be assessed case by case.

SPARE PARTS / AFTER SALES SERVICES

  •  Regularly inspect the safety devices to ensure the product’s functionality over time. Do not use the product in the event of any malfunction and/or anomaly. Promptly contact your Authorised Retailer or the Inglesina Customer Care service.
  • Do not use spare parts or accessories not supplied and/or not approved by Inglesina Baby S.p.A.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE
  •  If you require assistance for your product, immediately contact the Inglesina Retailer that sold it to you, with the “Serial Number” relative to said object ready on hand (the “Serial Number” is available from the 2010 Collection).
  • It is the Retailer’s duty to contact Inglesina to assess the best suited intervention case by case and then provide the subsequent indications.
  •  The Inglesina Customer Care Service can provide any information, following written request by filling out the form provided on the website: inglesina.com – Warranty and Assistance section.

HINTS FOR CLEANING AND MAINTAINING THE PRODUCT

  •  The child car seats could leave traces on the vehicle seats, due to the measures taken to install it firmly in compliance with safety standards. This product was designed to minimize this effect as much as possible. The manufacturer cannot be considered liable for eventual traces deriving from normal use of the child car seat.
  •  Never force any mechanisms or moving parts; in case of doubt, check the instruction first.
  • Store the product in a dry place.
  • Protect the product against weather agents, water, rain or snow; moreover, continuous and prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause changes in the colour of many materials.
  • Clean the plastic and metal parts with a damp cloth or with a mild detergent; do not use solvents, ammonia or benzine.
  •  Carefully dry metal parts after any contact with water to prevent the formation of rust.

HINTS FOR CLEANING THE TEXTILE LINING

  •  It is recommended to wash the lining separately from other items.
  •  Periodically revive the fabric parts using a soft clothes brush.

  • Dry the textile lining completely before using or storing it.

CAUTION: Never wash the straps and buckle; just wipe them with a cloth and a gentle detergent.

  • It is vital for the safety of your child that the harness buckle works correctly. Malfunctions of the harness buckle are usually caused by accumulations of dirt or foreign bodies.

HANDLE ADJUSTMENT

To adjust the child car seat handle (A), press simultaneously the two buttons (B) and rotate it to the wished position. Make sure that the two buttons (B) completely come out, after having arranged the handle to the proper position.

  • a) transport
  • b) intermediate
  • c) stability
  • d) car

To obtain the «car» configuration, rotate the handle to the most forward position.

HEADREST AND HARNESS ADJUSTMENT

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 05 To loosen the harness, use the adjustment button (K) by putting a finger in the slot in the seat (K1) and pulling the belts inside the infant seat at the same time.

Release the central buckle for the harness, using the red button (C), and settle the child in the child car seat with their back and legs entirely in contact with the seat.

To adjust the height, use the rear adjustment lever (J) and at the same time raise or lower to the correct position, which can be identified by the Click

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 08 Overlap the two ending parts (C2) and insert them in the buckle (C1) until hearing the blocking CLICK. Verify the correct closing by pulling the ends of the belts.

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 09Let the belts adhere to the child’s body, by pulling its end on the regulator (K2). A finger should not pass between the belts and the child’s body. To loosen the same, see Fig. 5.

 To release the belts, press the red button (C).

ADAPTER

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 11The child car seat is equipped with an adapter (D) to be used for children up to about 3 months of age.

USE OF THE HOOD

The child car seat is equipped with an adjustable hood (E). To attach it, insert the ends (E1) in the dedicated slots (E2) and then insert the various attachments (E3) around the structure.

CAUTION: the hood shall not be used to lift the child car seat: hazard of detachment.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

It is recommended to remove the lining periodically to provide for its correct maintenance.

 Remove the lining from the headrest (F).
Extract the protections from the belts.

Extract the belts from the suitable eyelets and, then, remove the entire lining.

INSTALLATION ON BOARD WITHOUT BASE

Verify that on the vehicle seat there are not any items that may hinder the correct leaning of the Inglesina Cab 0+ child car seat. Verify that the backrest is in vertical position and the vehicle seat where the child car seat has to be installed is NOT EQUIPPED WITH FRONT AIRBAG. Install the Inglesina car system only IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO THE DRIVING ONE.

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 22 Rotate the handle (A) to the most forward position. Make sure that the two buttons (B) completely come out, after having arranged the handle to the proper position.

CAUTION: make sure that the safety belts are well stretched and not twisted. Only in this way it is possible to obtain the perfect anchoring of the Inglesina Cab car system.
When the child car seat is used without the base, it is advisable to check that the hatched red line on the symbol (P1) on the side of the child car seat is more or less parallel to the ground.

CAB BASE

Install the Inglesina Cab Base on board of the car referring to the dedicated manual.

Install the Inglesina Cab 0+ child car seat to the Inglesina Cab Base only IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO THE DRIVING ONE, until hearing both CLICK sounds indicating the occurred hooking.
CAUTION: make sure that the child car seat is properly hooked on both sides, trying to lift it.

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 25Rotate the child car seat handle (A) to the most forward position. Make sure that the two buttons (B) completely come out, after having arranged the handle to the proper position.

Pass the diagonal segment (S2) of the car safety belt through the rear guides (G).
CAUTION: make sure that the safety belts are well stretched and not twisted. Only in this way it is possible to obtain the perfect anchoring of the Inglesina Cab car system.
REMOVING THE CAB 0+ CHILD CAR SEAT FROM THE CAB BASE

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 27 Rotate the child car seat handle (A) to the vertical position. After having removed the diagonal segment of the safety belt from the rear guides (G), act on the child car seat lever (H) and simultaneously lift it from the Inglesina Cab Base by holding it by the handle.

USE WITH INGLESINA EASY CLIP CHASSIS

For the correct use of the Inglesina Easy Clip chassis, refer to the dedicated manuals.

Properly open the chassis, following the suitable instructions. Holding the Inglesina Cab 0+ child car seat by the handle, place it on the chassis on the central pin making sure that the brakes are always properly engaged and that there is not any carrycot or seat unit installed. Then, push the child car seat downwards until hearing both CLICK sounds indicating the occurred hooking.
CAUTION: always make sure that the child car seat is properly hooked before use.

inglesina CAB 0+ Darwin Car Seats Instructions 29 To remove the child car seat, act on the rear lever (H) and simultaneously lift it holding it by the handle.
