Product Usage Instructions

Correct Card Insertion Method

It is recommended to follow the video tutorial provided to insert the SIM card correctly and avoid damaging the card slot. The following steps should also be kept in mind:

  1. Ensure that the logo side of the box is facing upward.
  2. Ensure that the copper contact on the SIM card is facing downward.
  3. Insert the SIM card in the correct direction.

Netflix Installation

  1. Download the APKs of the desired applications to a TF memory card using a computer or laptop.
  2. Connect the T-Box to your car and insert the TF memory card.
  3. Install the desired application from the memory card.
  4. Once the installation is complete, you can start using the app on your T-Box.

Differences between North America and Eurasia

The main difference between the Asian-European version and the American version of T-Box is the antennas. Since different countries have different network frequency bands, the communication modules used in the US version and the European version are also different. Except for the United States and Canada, which use the NA version, all other countries use the EAU version.

Upload Log

To upload logs for TBox series products, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare a TF card and format it to FAT32.
  2. Repeat the problems encountered during use in TBox.
  3. Plug the TF card into the TBox TF card slot, which will be displayed at the bottom of the screen (when log copy is completed).
  4. Remove the TF card, move the log file of X7 / X5, and copy it to Binize customer service.

Box Not Recognized

If the box is not recognized, try the following:

  • Check if your WIFI/hotspot is turned on. If it turns off automatically, select the 2.4Ghz band as some countries do not support the 5.0Ghz band (e.g., Japan).
  • Turn on and off the T-Box flight mode three times.
  • Turn off Bluetooth on your phone, and then turn it on again.
  • In your phone’s Bluetooth list, ignore/forget T-Box Bluetooth.

Carplay Android Auto

To use Carplay Android Auto, follow these steps:

  1. Open Autokit on your T-Box.
  2. Reboot your phone and reconnect it.
  3. If Android Auto cannot be connected, check if your phone is using a VPN and turn it off.
  4. Ignore the Bluetooth signal, click Autokit, then pair Bluetooth.

Autokit Cannot Start Automatically

  1. Open Autokit.
  2. Click on the settings icon (gear icon).
  3. Select Wireless auto connect.
  4. Make sure it is set to ON.

Notes on Formatting TF Cards

  • We recommend using the FAT32 format for most cases.
  • However, for a 128GB TF card, it is better to use the exFAT format. Please note that when formatting your TF card, it’s best to avoid selecting the Quick Format option.

2.Format the TF card and insert it into the T-Box.

3. Open the FibocomLogTool on the T-Box.

4. Turn on the AP, RADIO, MODEM, and KERNEL functions.
5.Switch to the appropriate APN on the menu.

6. If the T-Box cannot connect to the network, turn the mobile data function on and off. (Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile Network -> Mobile Data Switch)

7. If you still cannot access the internet, turn the airplane mode on and off. (Settings -> Network & Internet -> Airplane Mode)

8. If the above steps do not work, try switching to a different APN. 9.After completing the above steps, check if you can access the network.

10.If the problem persists, take out the TF card, insert it into your computer, and compress the Android file into this box . Send the compressed file to binize

Netflix installation

| If you receive a message stating that Netflix is not available on your device or if it appears that your device is not compatible with the version, we suggest that you do not try to download Netflix from Google Play again. Our T-Box comes with a built-in version of Netflix that you can use without upgrading.

If you have already uninstalled the Netflix app, note that it cannot be downloaded through any other means and must be reinstalled using APKinstaller. Here are the steps:

1.Plug the T-Box to your car. 2.Click APKinstaller on the T-Box. 3.Click on Install Manager.

4.Install Netflix.

Box not recognized| If you encounter issues where the TBox is not being recognized or not working, there are several steps you can take to resolve the problem:

1. Restore the factory settings of the Automotive Head Unit.

2. Try to upgrade the latest version of firmware. You can download it from the official website at https://www.binize.com/pages/binize-firmware-update

3. Keep eyes on the status of the TBox signal light. If the signal light is no longer on within 30 seconds of connecting the USB port, then you need to use a two-part cable to increase the power supply.

4. The first part should be a USB Female for Binize box, the second part should be a USB Male for car cigarette lighter/charging, or USB Male for car data port (depending on the data cable).

Long box loading time| Normally it will take about 30 seconds. The time it takes to enter the system is influenced by two main factors. Firstly, the original configuration of the Automotive Head Unit. The higher the configuration, the shorter the entry time, similar to computer or mobile phone configurations. Secondly, the length of the USB cable used to connect the device. The longer the cable, the longer the time it takes to enter the system. Usually, the system should take no more than 30 seconds to enter.
The box cannot be used carplay android auto| Way Ⅰ:Check if your WIFI/hotspot is turned on. If it turns off automatically, select the 2.4Ghz band as some countries do not support the 5.0Ghz band (e.g., Japan).

Way Ⅱ:Turn on and off the Tbox flight mode three times. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone, and then turn it on again. In your phone’s Bluetooth list, ignore/forget TBox Bluetooth. Open Autokit on your Tbox.

Reboot your phone and reconnect it.

Way Ⅲ:If Android Auto cannot be connected, check if your phone is using a VPN and turn it off. Way Ⅳ:Ignore the Bluetooth signal, click Autokit, then pair Bluetooth.

Autokit cannot start automatically| 1. Open Autokit

Two methods for updating boxes| Plan A: Upgrade using a micro SD card and connecting to an Automotive Head Unit:

1.Format the micro SD card to FAT32 and copy the update package to the root directory of the micro SD card. 2.Insert the micro SD card into the TBox and click “update” when prompted by the system.

3. Focus on the progress. TBox Plus will automatically enter the upgrade process, which takes approximately 5 minutes. Do not turn off or unplug the TBox during the upgrade.

4. Wait for the TBox to reboot, indicating that the upgrade was successful.

Plan B: Upgrade using a micro SD card and connecting to a charger:

1. Format the micro SD card to FAT32 and copy the update file onto it.

2. Connect the TBox to a charger power supply and insert the micro SD card after the red light is illuminated. 3.Wait for approximately 10 minutes for the upgrade to complete successfully.

Android Auto cannot be used

Firstly, check for updates to Android Auto on your phone by directly searching for it on the Google Play Store. Secondly, make sure to check for updates to all apps that involve Google services. One last step, restart your phone. By the way, check the resolution of your car head unit. If the resolution of your car head unit is 1920*720, then you will need to adjust the video output resolution of your Android Auto mobile device.

Carplay cannot be activated or started| This issue may be caused by the vehicle’s default settings. Here is a solution:

1.Turn off the engine.

2. Lock the car for about 10 minutes.

3. After 10 minutes, while the car is in park mode (P), connect the TBox to the USB/type-C port.

Solution: Firstly, ensure that the firmware file is downloaded correctly and not corrupted. Secondly, ensure that the correct TF card is selected. If the firmware file is correct, but you still encounter the error, try replacing the TF card. When selecting a TF card, it is recommended to format it as FAT32. If using a 128G TF card, format it as exFAT. It is important to note that “Quick Format” should not be selected during formatting.

Not using SIM cards| When using wireless CarPlay/Android Auto without a SIM card, the Android system may encounter network problems. The hotspot switch on the phone may also turn off automatically, while the WiFi remains on to connect to the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto.

When returning to the TBox’s original Android from wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, the Android system may be disconnected from the network. To address the issue, users can insert a SIM card that can provide network to the TBox. Then when using to wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, the box will automatically turn on the phone hotspot switch to establish a successful connection.

Adjusting Resolution| The problem may be in the resolution (Car Head Unit/smart phone).

1. If the car head unit has the ability to adjust its resolution, try connecting to wireless CarPlay/Android Auto with various resolution settings. If the car screen successfully connects to wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, it indicates that the phone’s resolution needs to be modified to match the resolution of the car head unit.

2. To modify the resolution in Android Auto developer mode, first enable Developer Mode by tapping on the version number at the bottom of the Android Auto settings page. Then, access “Developer settings” in the upper right corner and modify the Video Resolution there.

3. If your car offers the option to turn on CarPlay/Android Auto split screen, it may be necessary to enable this setting for the connection to work. Note that not all cars have this option available.

Manually upgrading the system with a USB flash drive:

  1. Copy the ISPBOOOT.BIN file to the root directory of the USB flash drive. Turn off the device and insert the USB flash drive into the device’s USB port.

“Get the firmware upgrade package, two files named “APM688S.zip” and “applepie_update.json”. Please prepare a TF card, and put “APM688S.zip” and “applepie_update,json” directly into the TF card (directly placed in the root directory, no need to create any folder, and no need to unzip the zip file) You can use the CarPlay USB port on the car to power up the box, or you can use a mobile phone charger with 5V/2A DC output from the USB port to power up the box.

After the box is powered on, please wait for 2 minutes to ensure that the red power indicator on the box is always on, and the blue working status indicator flashes once every second.
