HEMA-FREE BIAB™

APPLICATION GUIDE

  • IF IT’S NOT TGB, IT’S NOT BIAB™.
  • THERE’S ONLY ONE BIAB™ — AND IT’S
  • NOW AVAILABLE IN HEMA-FREE
  • Our medium viscosity HEMA-Free Builder in a Bottle™ can be added as a strengthening layer, or as a  natural nail overlay.
  • Our HEMA-Free BIAB™ range doesn’t have a built
  • in base coat, so must be used with our HEMA-Free Bond Base. And it can easily be removed by soaking  in acetone.

HEMA-FREE BIABTM GUIDE

STEP 1: NAIL PREP

  1.  Sanitise your and your customer’s hands.
  2.  Use a cuticle pusher — like ProPrep from our TGB Tools Range — to push back the cuticles before trimming away excess with nippers; we recommend the ProNip cuticle nippers.
  3.  File nails into desired shape using a
  4. TGB 220/240 Grit File.
  5. Gently buff nails using a TGB 100/180 Grit Buffer to remove any shine.
  6. Dehydrate and cleanse the nail plate using 100% pure acetone. Don’t use ‘prep-and-wipe’ or ‘scrub-fresh’ solutions.

STEP 2: BASE LAYER

  1. Apply an even coat of HEMA-Free Bond Base to the natural nail.
  2. Cure for 99 seconds (make sure to use Low Heat Mode) in the TGB Light The Way Lamp**.
  • If the customer experiences a ‘heat spike’, remove the nails from the lamp. Lost seconds must be regained using Low Heat Mode again.
  • TGB’s Light The Way Lamp has been specifically designed to cure TGB products. As a result, we don’t recommend the use of other lamps.

STEP 3: FIRST BIABTM LAYER

  1.  Apply a thin layer of TGB HEMA-Free BIAB™ and cure.
  2. Apply a medium bead of TGB HEMA-Free BIAB™, spreading side to side and dragging away from the cuticle area. Avoid thick build-up around the free edge and the cuticle area.
  3. Seal the free edge.
  4. Use a Liner Brush to apply a thin layer of product around the cuticle and sidewalls, and turn the hand over to help create the apex.
  5. Cure using the TGB Light The Way Lamp** on Low Heat Mode for 99 seconds.

STEP 4: SECOND BIABTM LAYER

  1. Apply a second bead of TGB HEMA-Free BIAB™, repeating the steps above to perfect the structure and reduce refining.
  2. . Apply a further bead of HEMA-Free BIAB™ —if the structure requires it — and cure.
  3. Cure using the TGB Light The Way Lamp** on Low Heat Mode for 99 seconds.

TGB’s Light The Way Lamp has been specifically designed to cure TGB products. As a result, we don’t recommend the use of other lamps.

STEP 5: REFINE

  1. If you need to refine anything, wipe with Isopropyl Alcohol then refine the nail using
    a TGB 120/180 Grit File.

  2. Buff into shape using a TGB 100/180 Grit Buffer, concentrating on reducing the product around the cuticle area and the free edge.

  3. Remove any dust with a Dusting Brush.

STEP 6: COLOUR/TOPCOAT

  1. After refining, or if no refining is necessary, remove the inhibition layer with Isopropyl Alcohol prior to colour or topcoat application. The inhibition layer can cause pitting in the colour or topcoat layer if not removed.
  2. For a classic nude finish, apply a layer of TGB HEMA-Free Glow Top.
  3. If nails are to be finished with TGB Gel Colour, follow the ‘TGB Gel Colour Application’ steps after removing the inhibition layer. Note that TGB Colours are not HEMA-Free, so for a completely HEMA-Free service, do not use TGB Gel Colour

**TGB’s Light The Way Lamp has been specifically designed to cure TGB products. As a result, we don’t recommend the use of other lamps.
