Outstanding Features of 25x150ED-D/N

Binoculars 25x150ED-D/N allows for nighttime observation of an object in a bright fi eld of view pro-duced by a combination of a large-aperture 150mm objective lens with super-high light-gathering power and a night use eyepiece lens with a 4th generation image intensifi er (I.I.) tube (that makes very slight light electronically amplifi ed about several ten thousands times) incorporated. The combination of the objective lens with ED lens and a daytime eyepiece lens has corrected the chromatic aberration that is diffi cult to be eliminated at a high magnifi cation, and has reduced color blurring to the extreme. Fujinon’s unique EBC (electron beam coating) is applied to all lens and prism surfaces to assure the ultimate in sharpness, brightness and resolution throughout the fi eld of view.

  • Use day use eyepiece lenses in a bright place. The housings are made from highly anti-corrosive alloys and in waterproof construction to meet requirements in severe natural environments such as for marine use.

CAUTION!
Viewing a bright object through the night use eyepiece lens for several minutes (3 ~ 10 minutes depending on conditions) may cause a burn-in due to the I.I. tube characteristics. When there is a bright object within the fi eld of view, it is recommended not to keep viewing it for a long time.

How to exchange eyepiece lenses

  1. Confi rm that the wire to prevent the eyepiece from falling is attached to the main body, and slowly pull out the eyepiece lens by rotating the mounting ring counterclockwise. Remove the wire and keep it in a place of safety.
  2. Fix to the main body the wire to prevent the eyepiece to be interchanged from falling.
  3. Make sure that the mounting ring index mark and the positioning pin are in place.
  4. Match the index mark of a night-use eyepiece lens to be exchanged to that of the mounting ring and slowly insert the eyepiece lens notch straight into the positioning pin of the eyepiece lens.
  5. Push in the eyepiece lens fi rmly and fi x the mounting ring securely by rotating it clockwise.

CAUTION! Be careful not to let any water get inside the binoculars.

ON

Push the switch and turn “ON”. The I.I. tube lights up. LED lamp lights up.

  • Be sure to perform this operation with the objective lens caps on, or in a dark place.

The remaining capacity of a battery can be checked. Check the LED lamp.

  • Green: Normal
  • Orange: Capacity is low (Prepare spare battery.)
  • Red: Insufficient capacity (The I.I. tube will stop operating.)
  •  Does not light up: Zero capacity (Battery is dead.)

OFF
When the switch pushed again, the power turn “OFF”. The I.I. tube does not light up. No LED lamp lights up.

  • In order to conserve the battery life, turn the switch to the “OFF” position.

Adjusting interpupillary distance

  • What is interpupillary distance adjustment? The distance between the eyes varies by individual. The interpupillary distance can be adjusted to your individual distance between the eyes so that you can use the binoculars in the optimal state at any time.

Mounting/dismounting of the horn-shaped rubber eyecups

When using the binoculars with glasses (or goggles) on, remove the angled horn-shaped rubber eyecups.

  • Day use eyepiece lenses: Slide the rubber eyecups from the eyepieces.
  • Night use eyepiece lenses: Remove the eyepieces by rotating them counterclockwise.

*Focusing day use 25x, 40x eyepiece lenses**

  1. If a person’s eyes have normal eyesight, a distant object can be observed clearly by only matching both the diopter ring graduations on the left and right eyepiece sections to zero without further adjustment.
  2. For a person with one or both eyes that are farsighted or nearsighted, adjust the focus by rotating the respective left and right diopter rings so that a distant object can be observed clearly.
  3. Adjust the focus by rotating respective left and right diopter rings according to the distance of the observation object.
    • 40x eyepiece is optional.

Focusing night use eyepiece lenses

  1. Push the switch and turn “ON”
    • Be sure to carry out this operation in a dark place.
  2. Turn each diopter ring slowly so that the screen of the tube can be seen most clearly.
  3. Next, turn the focusing ring to obtain more precise focusing. Perform these operations for respective left and right eyepiece lenses.
  4. When the distance to the target is changed, readjust the focus by only rotating the focusing rings.

Setting the Binoculars on the Mount (Optional)

  1. Using the 3 mount locking bolts provided with the mount, secure the mount on a fi rm base such as a tripod.
    CAUTION!
If the mount is not fi rmly secured, the binoculars will fall when they are mounted on it.

  2. Move the mount head to the position where the indicator line is aligned with the 50°mark on the inclination scale, then tighten the inclination locking lever fi rmly to prevent the mount head from moving.
CAUTION! If the head should come loose, the mount will be unstable when the binoculars are mounted on it and the binoculars could fall.FUJIFILM-

  3. When the desired angle is reached, lock the binoculars in place with the inclination locking lever.

Adjusting the Direction

  1. Loosen the direction locking lever to release the lock.
  2. Tilt the binoculars by holding the handles and set its direction to the desired angle
  3. When the desired angle is reached, lock the binoculars in place with the direction locking lever.

About locking lever

Maintenance

Lenses
Remove dust and other foreign matter by brushing with a soft, clean and dry brush. Be sure the brush is free of oil. Dirt or fingerprints of the lens surface not only impair the sharpness of the image but if such allowed to remain can become impossible to remove. Use the cloth supplied or soft paper soaked in a small amount of alcohol, etc., and wipe the lens surface with a circular motion from the center to the outer edge.

Body
Use a soft cloth dipped in water or a solution containing a synthetic detergent to remove dirt on the outside of the binoculars.

CAUTION! Do not use paint thinner or similar organic solvents. It could result in the solvent penetrating the paint film on the painted surface.
