DC Regulated Power Supply
Thank you for purchasing SKY TOPPOWER Switching DC Power Supplies. This user
manual contains useful information regarding the functions and operating
procedures of the instrument as well as precautions that should be observed
during use. To ensure proper use the instrument, please read this manual
thoroughly before operating it. Keep the manual carefully for quick reference
whenever a question arises.
Before using the instument, please read the weming carefully, Do not ignore
ft, as & is important
Waming: Do not connect any load to the power supply before it’s tumed on.
Likewise, make sure to disconnect the load before shutting down the power
supply. Damages to the power supply can happen if you do not follow this. Such
damages are not under warranty.
Waming: |f you are running inductive load like magnetic coils, DC motors,
stepper motors, etc.,
make sure to change the voitage/current slowly, and never tum the power supply
on or off with a inductive load connected!
Chapter 1 Grief introduction
STP series single output DC power supply is a kind of switching power supply with LED digital display. it has high precision, high efficiency, light, energy efficiency and environmental protection characteristics. Aiso it has perfect protection functions, such as over voltage, over temperature, over load etc. which can protect the testing load and power supply from damage. It can be used both as constant voltage and constant current dc power supply. What’s more, it’s constant voltage and constant current operation mode can be automatic conversion. widely used in LED testing and aging, motor manufacturing PCB manufacturing, battery, OC fan, etc. It is the first choice for school, laboratory, and Production fine.

Chapter 4 Detailed Explanations
4.1 Preperation before energizing
4.1.1 Please make sure the input voltage is AC220V ( 190-250V) 5OHz, or 110V (
100-130V) 60HZ .ifthere is input voltage selection switch , please make sure
the voltage you choose is the one you need , otherwise it will make damage to
the power supply.
4.1.2 Make sure there is too much space for cooling, The two sides and back of
the power supply should have 10cm space at least. the operating temperature
should be less than 40C.
Please don’t use it in the place where has acid and alkaline gases or
Excessive dust. Also please prevent the power supply from rain, sun exposure
and Strenuous Vibration.
4.1.3 The Copper Diameter of the Cable should be over than 2.5mm* and it is
certainly to adda control switch for it, so that it can be used to cut off the
power Completely when there is a need.
4.2 Operation
4.2.1 Contact the power to the AC Power with the plug and press the power
switch (7), then the indicator will be light.
4.2.2 Constant voltage setting:
Clockwise over voltage setting knob (11) and Current Knobs (3) and (5) to
the maximum firstly. turn knobs(13)and(15)to the necessary value of voltage.
then connect the load with output terminals (18)and{19), the power supply can
be used for work now. In this time the C.V. indicator light (14)will be on.
That is to say, the output voltage is constant while the output current will
be changed with the load.
4.2.3 Constant current setting:
1 Adjust the coarse voltage adjustment (13). fine voltage adjustment (15) to
the required voltage value, and 2 set the coarse current adjustment (3) and
the fine current adjustment (5) to the minimum at the same time. At this time,
the C.C. steady current indicator lights up and the voltage drops. 3 Connect
the !oad according to the positive connection (18) and the negative connection
(19). 4 Adjust coarse current adjustment (3), fine current adjustment (5) to
the required current value, and then use. Keep C.C. steady light on during
use. If you switch to C.V. regulation, you need to check whether the set
current is too large and whether the voltage preset value is too low. Decrease
the current setting or increase the voltage and try again.
4.2.4 Over vollage protection esting : Clockwise over voltage setting knob
(11}and current coarse regulation knob(3)to the Max. regulate knobs(13){15)to
the necessary value of over voltageprotection, then counterclockwise regulate
knob(11)slowly until O.V. Indicator light (12) on, now the power stop working.
Press the power switch(7) to turn off the power supply.
Counterclockwise regulate knobs (13) and(15) to any small value. Tum on the
power supply, C.V. indictor light will be on. Regulate the voltage to the
necessary value, and then connect the load to the power supply, the power
supply can be used for work now. Notas: the culput vollage should be lees than
the value of over voltage protection.only that, the power eupply can be
opereted.
4.2.5 An example for over vottage protection setting: For example, if you want
to set the over voltage protection value to 13.8V. Firstly clockwise over
voltage setting knob (11) and current coarse regulation knob (3)to the Max,
then press power switch(7)to turn on the power supply, adjust knobs(13) and
(15) to regulate the voltage to 13.8V,then counterclockwise regulate knob(11)
slowly until O.V. indicator light(12) on. Press button(7) to turn off the
power supply. Counterclockwise regulate knobs(13) and (15) to the Min, after
about 3 seconds, the O.V. indicator light is off. turn on the power supply
again ,the C.V. indicator light(14) is on.
Regulate the voltage from 0~13.7V, and connect with the load to the power
supply, now you can stat your work.
If there have some reasons to make the output voltage higher than the over
voltage protection value which has been set, the power supply will be
protected by over voltage protection function. There will be no voltage output
to keep the power supply from damage. To avoid the over voltage protection
value changing, After set the over voltage protection value, please do not
regulate the knob (11) randomly. Otherwise it will cause the power supply
protected in advance by mistake or no protection.
4.2.6 Cancel Over voltage protection
If you have set the over voltage protection, you can also cancel it. First,
clockwise the over voltage setting knob(11)to the Max, turn off the power
supply, the O.V. indicator will be slaked in 3 seconds, turn on the power
supply again, the indicator light C.V. or C.C. will be on at this time. Then
the overvoltage protection will be canceled.
4.3 Notes
4.3.1 The output voltage should be lower than the value of over voltage
protection that has been set, otherwise there will be no voltage output.
4.3.2 To avoid the damage from the heating, please make sure the Copper
Diameter of the input or output Cable should be over than 2mm 2 .Also ensure
that the terminals always are tight enough , if loose there will may have
damage from the heating.
4.3.3 The fan for the power supply is Intelligent one. It will work when the
inner temperature is over than 40°C. If the inner temperature is less then
35°C , the fan will stop working. While if the inner temperature is over than
70°C ,the power supply will be in over temperature protection, there is no
output .when the temperature is less than 65°C ,the power supply will recover
to work automatically.
4.3.4 There will be a buffer for 2~3 seconds when turn on the power supply,
also it has a buffer for 1~2 seconds when turn off it. Please do not turn on
and turn off it frequently, or it will reduce the life of the power supply.
4.3.5 To reduce the ripple factor and safely use the power supply, please
connect the GND Voltage stability: ≤ 0.2% terminal to any one of the terminal
(18) and (19).
4.3.6 This power supply can be used for series and parallel. If you want to
use more ones to series or parallel, please contact dealer or factory to check
whether it is ok.
Chapter 5 Routine Maintenance
5.1 Fuse Change:If the fuse was burned out, please find the reason firstly
then change it with the same capacity. The fuse is inside of the plug port at
the back panel of the power supply. At the position of (21).
5.2 Please get rid of dust for the power supply regularly. To clean the case
with a dry cloth without any organic solvent. Use the high pressure dry air to
blow dust through vents. To avoid damage or dangerous, Please DO NOT open the
case for cleaning.
5.3 if no use the power supply for a long time. Please completely cut off the
AC power , take away the plug and keep it in a place where is dry, ventilated
and avoid direct sunlight. Every six months to electrify it at least 30
minutes.
5.4 As inside of the power supply, it has high voltage circuit. To avoid
electric shock accidents, Please do not open the case of the power supply if
you are not a professional maintenance personnel.
