Important Safeguards

Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
When using the product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of injury including the following:

• For domestic use only.
• This product must be assembled by an adult.
• While this product may be assembled by one person, a few steps may be easier with two people.
• Keep children and pets away while assembling the product.
• Do not let children climb on or play with the product.
• Always use the product on a firm, level ground.
• If casters are equipped with brakes, engage them when the product is stationary.
• Do not use this product if any parts are missing, damaged, or worn.
• To avoid scratching the floor, assemble the product on a soft surface, such as a carpet.
• Do not over-tighten the fasteners.
• Regularly examine the product for wear and tear. Stop using the product at first sign of damage or if parts become detached.
• Keep bird cages in a safe location, away from dangers such as direct sunlight, kitchen fumes, air conditioners, cold or hot temperatures, and predators.
• Do not use sandpaper, sand, wood chips, shavings, clay, shredded or recycled paper to line the bottom of the cage as birds may pick them off, ingest it, and develop gastrointestinal tract obstructions.
• Always have fresh food and water available, change daily.
• Monitor your bird. Any change in normal behavior could be a sign of illness.
• Most birds, especially very young ones, need attention. Take the time to play with them.

Before First Use

Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

• Remove all the packing materials.
• Remove and review all components before assembly.
• Check the product for transport damages.

Cleaning and Maintenance

3.1 Regular inspection
NOTICE  As birds both eat and defecate in the cage, for hygienic purposes, it is essential to keep this cage as clean as possible. Regular cleaning of the cage, perches, pull-out tray, and seed/water trays is important in keeping your bird(s) healthy.
NOTICE   while cleaning the cage, watch for signs of disease or injury. Look for any signs that the bird(s) may not be feeling well. Also, watch for hazardous conditions in the cage, and remove or correct them. Put attention to:

• Has the normal amount of food been eaten?
• Is there any regurgitated material in or on the cage?
• Are the droppings normal in appearance and number?
• Are there feathers present? Do they look normal?
• Do any of the accessory appear frayed and need to be replaced?
• Are the bars and welded portions of the cage in good condition?

3.2 Cleaning
NOTICE The disinfectant selected for cleaning must be strong enough to kill disease-causing viruses, bacteria, and fungi, yet not strong enough to cause harm to the bird. Birds are extremely sensitive to toxic fumes, so care must be taken to move the bird to another room while using most disinfectants. Consult veterinarian if in doubt.
3.2.1 Daily cleaning

• We recommend to line the bottom of the pull-out tray with a disposable Paper such as newspaper, or paper towel that can be thrown away every day.
• Wash, rinse and refill seed/water trays daily using a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• The seed/water trays must be dry before adding food, since damp seed or pellets can quickly mold. To avoid waste, fill the trays with only the amount the bird will eat until the trays are cleaned again.

3.2.2 Weekly/monthly cleaning
The entire cage, inctuding all the accessories, should be scrubbed down at least once weekly with a non-toxic disinfectant and hot water. The cleaning frequency however depends on the type and number of birds and how much time bird spends inside the cage.

1. Move the bird(s) to safe location, preferably to an alternate cage in another room where the bird(s) will not be exposed to any fumes from the disinfectant.
2. Remove all trays and accessories from the cage.
3. Remove seeds, droppings, and other matter before using the disinfectant.
4. Scrub the cage and pull-out tray with hot soapy water, then rinse.
5. Apply the disinfectant and allow it to sit wet for 10-15 minutes on the surface being cleaned. Refer to disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions for more details.
6. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with clean water. All disinfectant residues should be washed off the cage, pull-out tray, and accessories, before the bird(s) is exposed to them.
7. Atlow the cage and all the accessories to dry thoroughly before reassembling and placing the bird(s) back into the cage.
   Also clean the cage apron (if used) and the area underneath and around the cage. Tile flooring, vinyl, and plastic carpet runners might also need to be washed and disinfected. You may want to check the wails too, since food or other material may have been flung against them by the bird(s).

3.3 Storage

•  Store in a cool and dry place away from children and pets.
• Avoid any vibrations and shocks.

Dispose of the product according to local regulations. If in doubt, consult your local authorities.
