IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:
- WARNING Potential injury from misuse.
- WARNING The filling aperture must not be opened during use.
- WARNING Avoid spillage on the connector. For proper cleaning instructions, refer to chapter “Cleaning and Maintenance”.
- CAUTION Risk of burns! The steam ejected from the steam nozzle is very hot. Do not touch the steam nozzle while in use.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The appliance must not be immersed in water.
- The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
- This symbol identifies that the materials provided are safe for food contact and comply with European Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004.

Intended Use
- This product is intended for preparing espresso and cappuccino coffee.
- This product is intended for household use only. It is not intended for commercial use.
- This product is intended to be used in dry indoor areas only.
- No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.
Before First Use
- Check the product for transport damages.
- Remove all the packing materials.
- Clean the product before first use.
- Before connecting the product to the power supply, check that the power supply voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown cn the product rating label.
- Place the product on a firm, level surface away from the surface edge.
- Perform internal cleaning before using the product for the first time.
- NOTICE To perform internal cleaning, follow the DESCALING section but use water instead of the descaling solution.
- NOTICE There may be noise when pumping the water on the first time, it is normal. The appliance is releasing the air trapped inside. After about 20 seconds, the noise disappears.
- DANGER Risk of suffocation! Keep any packaging materials away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.
Operation
Filling the water tank
- Set the ON/OFF switch (H) to OFF.
- Grasp the water tank (I) on both sides and gently pull it up.
- Open the water tank cover.
- Fill up with fresh water. The water level must be between the water tank’s (I) MIN and the MAX markings.
- Close the water tank cover and place the water tank (l) back into the housing. Gently push down the water tank to secure a tight connection.
Switching on/off
- To switch on the product, set the ON/OFF switch (H) to ON. The ON/OFF switch indicator lights up.
- To switch off the product, set the ON/OFF switch (H) to OFF. All indicators go off.
- NOTICE The product automatically switches off if no operation is done for 25 minutes.
- NOTICE The water pump can work for maximum 3 minutes continuously.
Attaching/removing the sieve and portafilter
NOTICE The large sieve (N) is intended for preparing two cups of coffee per brew.
Place the sieve (N) in the portafilter (O). The pin of the sieve has to fit into the slot of the portafilter (O).
- Position the portafilter O) under the control panel with it’s arm at the INSERT marking (E).
- Push the portafilter (O) up and turn it until the arm is at the LocK marking (D).
- Remove the portafilter and the sieve in a reverse order.
Preheating

CAUTION Risk of burns! The steam ejected from the steam nozzle is very hot. Do not touch the steam nozzle while in use.

NOTICE
Use only fresh coffee grounds as it might affect the taste. -
NOTICE
Ensure the mode switch (G) is set to position.- Fill the water tank (l) with the needed amount of water.
- Set the ON/OFF switch (H) to ON.
- Wait until the STOP/ pump control switch indicator (F) lights up.
Preparing espresso
- Preheat the product.
- Remove the portafilter (O) from the product.
- Use the coffee scoop (A) to fill coffee into the sieve (N). Do not exceed the MAX marking in the sieve. Spread the coffee evenly and press it down slightly with the back of the coffee scoop (A). Remove any remains of the ground coffee from the rims of the sieve.
- Attach the portafilter (0) back to the product.
- Place a suitable cup on the drip tray base (B).
- Set the STOP/ pump control switch (F) to position to start operation.
- Wait until the cup is filled with the desired amount of coffee. If the colour of the brewed coffee becomes shiny, it means that the coffee is fully extracted.
- To stop the operation, set the STOP/ pump control switch (F) to STOP position. Remove the cup.
- Discard the used coffee grounds remaining in the sieve.
NOTICE
For preparing the next cup of coffee it is not necessary to remove the sieve for discarding the used coffee grounds. Flap the sieve holder (P) forward to hold the sieve in place and discard the used coffee grounds.
Preparing cappuccino
You can make a cappuccino by adding frothed milk to an espresso.
- NOTICE We recommend using refrigerated whole milk.
- NOTICE Through this process, the amourt of milk is about twice as high. Keep this in mind when choosing a cup.
- Prepare an espresso in a suitable cup.
- Set the mode switch (G) to postion.
- Pour the desired amount of milk, approx. 100 ml per cappuccino into a large cup.
- Wait until the mode switch indicator lights up. The steam is now preheated.
- Put the frother (L) approx. 2 cm in the milk.
- Turn the steam control knob (J) to a desired steam output.
- Move the cup upwards/downwards/to the left/to the right to froth the milk.
- To stop frothing, turn the steam control kncb (J) clockwise back to O position.
- Pour the frothy milk into the espresso cup. The cappuccino is now ready.
- NOTICE Clean the frother (L) and the steam nozzle (K) with a wet sponge immediately after frothing the milk. This prevents blockages due to dried milk.
NOTICE After using the product in steam mode, do not prepare any coffee until the mode switch indicator goes off. Lower the water temperature first:
- Set the mode switch (G) to position.
- Place a cup under the steam nozzle (K).
- Turn the steam contral knob (J) counter-clockwise and release steam until mode switch indicator goes off.
Steam production for heating a liquid
CAUTION
Risk of burns! The frother (L) gets very hot while in use.
Grasp it only by the plastic cover.
The steam can be used to make hot liquids like drinking chocolate, water or tea.
- Pull down the frother (L) to remove it from the steam nozzle (K).
- Set the mode switch (G) to position.
- Wait until the mode switch indicator lights up. The steam is now preheated.
- Dip the steam nozzle (K) into the liquid to be heated.
- Turn the steam control knob (J) to a desired steam output. Wait until the liquid reaches the desired temperature.
- To stop, turn the steam control knob (J) clockwise back to O position.
Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING
Risk of electric shock! To prevent electric shock, unplug the product before
cleaning.
WARNING Risk of electric shock! During cleaning do not immerse the
product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.
CAUTION
Risk of burns! Before cleaning, let the product cool down.
Cleaning
- To clean the product, wipe with a soft, slightly moist cloth.
- Dry the product after cleaning.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.
Descaling
To ensure an efficient operation of the appliance and to keep the internal pipes clean, you should remove limescale from the appliance every 2-3 months.
NOTICE
Use a household descaling product and follow the manufacturer’s instructions
for using the descaer. You can also use citric acid or vinegar (100 parts of
water and 3 parts of citric acid/of vinegar).
- Fill the water tank (l) with water and available descaling agents or citric acid up to the MAX marking. Brew the descaling solution.
- Set the STOP/ pump control switch (F) to position to start and let the water run through the product for 2 minutes.
- Turn the steam control knob (J) to position and let the water run through the steam nozzle (K).
- Repeat this procedure 3 times. Wait for 15 minutes between cleaning cycles.
- Clean the product and its components.
Storage
- Store the product in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
Plug fuse replacement (for UK only)
- Use a flat screwdriver to open the fuse compartment cover.
- Remove the fuse and replace with the same type (10 A, BS1362). Refit the cover.
Maintenance
- Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair centre.
