How to Use a Dehumidifier Effectively
- Make sure that the windows and doors are closed while the dehumidifier is operating.
- How to Use a Dehumidifier Effectively 1. Make sure that the windows and doors are closed while the dehumidifier is operating.
- If you are operating the dehumidifier in a large room, place it as close to the moisture source as possible.
- Don’t place your dehumidifier too close to any furniture. This can further restrict the airflow around the unit.
- Empty the collected water out of the dehumidifier after every use and before moving it to another room.
- You can use this dehumidifier to where is very humid, such as the bathroom, or basement or you can place it in your cloakroom to dry your clothes.
- Note: Do not use this operation when the outdoor temperature is equal to or less than 32° F (0°C), otherwise the water will freeze, causing the water hose to block up and the dehumidifier may be damaged. During the winter if it gets too cold, the water your machine collects could potentially freeze and damage it. So, you may want to consider dehumidifiers that rely on silica or charcoal desiccants.
- It’s a good idea to vacuum your floors before you switch on your dehumidifier so that it doesn’t spread dust particles. This is particularly important if you already suffer from allergies.
- You should set your dehumidifier to relative humidity levels of between 30%to 50%. Lower than 30%: Don’t use your dehumidifier. Use a humidifier instead. Remember that very low humidity isn’t healthy either and can increase the chances of viruses spreading around. Higher than 50%: Use your dehumidifier.
- Wash and dry air filter regularly. The filter cleans the air that flows through the dehumidifier, and when it ‘s dirty, your dehumidifier’s efficiency takes a hit.
NOTE: THE DEHUMIDIFIER PRODUCING WARM AIR IS NORMAL.
- This dehumidifier doesn’t have a cooling function only decreases the humidity. So warm air coming from a dehumidifier is normal, it will produce heat during the operation and increase the room temperature to 1 to 5 °C but it shouldn’t be too hot. This temperature rise may be very distinct in the cabinet or other similar spaces.
- Cause humid air is pulled into the dehumidifier and passes over refrigerated cooling coils, it takes a lot of energy to keep the coils refrigerated and the fan operating. This generated heat will constantly radiate out as the unit draws moisture out of the air to lower the humidity.
The 2 Drainage Ways
There are two ways to remove collected water:
Manual Drainage – Using The Water Tank
The dehumidifier can’t operate and the FULL Indicator Light flashes a red
light on the display screen when the water in the tank is full.
Step 1: Grab both sides of the water tank and remove it from the unit following the arrow from top to bottom. Removing the tank slowly to avoid water leakage when tank is full.
Step 2 : Empty the tank by supporting the bottom of the tank with two hands.
Step 3 : After emptying, replace the tank in the dehumidifier following the arrow direction from bottom to top. Confirm the tank is installed in position and the red Indicator light off.
NOTE
- Replace the empty tank into the unit and once seated correctly, please press the power button, and the unit will start up again.
- You should hear a click when the tank is in the correct position.
- Do not remove the float in the tank, otherwise, the sensor will not be able to sense the water level properly, so the water will overflow from the tank when the tank is full.
- Wipe the tank after every use and clean it with a damp cloth to prevent mildew.
- Be careful not to spill any of the dirty water as you dump it down a sink or outside.
- Do not drink or use the water drained from the dehumidifier.
Auto Drainage – Using The Drain Hose
Water can be automatically emptied into a floor drain by attaching the
dehumidifier to a water gravity drain hose (included) which attaches to a
nozzle on the middle of the unit.
Step 1: Remove the water tank from the unit, you will see the connection of the nozzle.
Step 2: Thread the drain hose (included) onto the nozzle. Replace the water tank in the unit.
Step 3: Position the gravity drain hose into the floor drain or other water receptacle. Ensure that the gravity drain hose is directed downwards.
NOTE
- Be sure to run the water hose sloping downward to let the water flow out smoothly. If the drain hose is directed upwards or horizontally, water will not exit the drain hose and instead will collect in the drain tank.
- Make sure the connection is tight and there is no leaking.
- Lead the water hose to the floor drain or a suitable drainage facility, the drainage facility should be lower than the drain outlet of the dehumidifier.
- When the continuous drain feature is not being used, remove the drain hose from the outlet.
