Product Usage Instructions

12F Tether Repair

If the cable under repair is a 12-Fiber cable, follow these steps:

  1. Match the fiber colors and splice all fibers straight through from 1 to 12.

6F Tether Repair

If the cable under repair is a 6-Fiber cable, follow these steps:

  1. Start splicing from fiber number 4 (brown) on the new tether.
  2. Continue splicing up to fiber number 9 (yellow) on the new tether.

8F Tether Repair

If the cable under repair is an 8-Fiber cable, follow these steps:

  1. Start splicing from fiber number 3 (green) on the new tether.
  2. Continue splicing up to fiber number 10 (violet) on the new tether.

Tether Repair Instructions

The following splice schematic diagrams show how to splice fibers using the SRC100 tether repair kits. CommScope SRC100 universal repair kit can be used to repair tether and terminal tails with fiber counts from 4 to 12.

12F Tether Repair

  • If cable under repair is 12-Fiber then fibers are spliced straight through for all fibers from 1 to 12, matching fiber colors.

8F Tether Repair

  • If cable under repair is 8-fiber cable, then splicing starts from fiber number 3 (green) to fiber number 10 (violet) on the new tether.

6F Tether Repair

  • If cable under repair is 6-Fiber, then splicing starts from fiber number 4 (brown) to fiber number 9 (yellow) on the new tether.

4F Tether Repair

  • If cable under repair is 4-fiber, then splicing starts from fiber number 5 (slate) to fiber number 8 (black) on the new tether.
