Step 1: Gather the necessary materials
To DIY a new net cable, you will need the following materials
- Ethernet cable
- Pass-through RJ45 connector
- Cover for the connector
Step 2: Insert the network cable into the connector cover
Take the network cable and carefully insert it into the connector cover.
Step 3: Strip the cable
Put the cable into the stripping port of the crimper and tap the crimper. Rotate it one turn to strip the cable.
Step 4: Untwist the pair and flatten the wires
Take off the cable shell and untwist the pair of wires. Press all the wires flat.
Step 5: Arrange the wires
Arrange the wires in the order specified by either T568A or T58B standards. Push them into the connector according to the arrangement.
Step 6, 7, and 8: Place, crimp, and cut
Place the connector into the 8P Slot and use a crimping tool to crimp and cut the wires.
Step 9: Finished!
