The Canon Extender RF1.4x and Extender RF2x increase the focal length of the attached RF lens by 1.4x and 2x respectively. When Extender RF1.4x is attached, the lens maximum aperture will be smaller (darker) by 1 stop. With Extender RF2x, the maximum aperture will be smaller by 2 stops. In any case, the camera will compensate the exposure automatically

Product Description

Attaching and Detaching the Extender

  • First attach the Extender to the lens, then attach it to the camera.
  • To detach it, follow the same procedure in reverse.
  • To detach the Extender from the lens, slide the lens release lever and then turn the Extender counterclockwise.

Safety Precaution

  • Do not leave the product in excessive heat such as in a car in direct sunlight. High temperatures can cause the product to malfunction.
  • You cannot attach two or more Extenders on the same camera.
  • The rear mount on the Extender has been fitted with a rubber ring to improve dust-resistance and water-resistance performance. This rubber ring may cause friction marks to appear around the camera’s lens mount, although this will have no effect on usage. Rubber rings can be replaced at Canon Service Center (chargeable).
  • Using the Extender may limit the minimum shooting length possible according to the product’s specifications.
  • Autofocusing slows down when the lens is used with the Extender, in order to maintain the precision of autofocus control.
