CLASSIC DOOR KNOB INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PARTS LIST AND ASSEMBLY DRAWING
Parts List:
- Outside handle
- Classic Door Knob transmission rod
- Latch
- Wood screws (4)
- Strike plate
- Plastic shell (optional)
- Inside handle
- Machine screws (2)
- Knob release pin
TOOLS REQUIRED FOR NEW INSTALLATION
#2 Phillips screwdriver
Circular saw 54mm (2 1/8″) diameter
Circular saw 26mm (1″) diameter
Drill
Chisel (or router)
Hammer (if use chisel)
LATCH CONFIGURATION
Adjust the length of the latch to 60mm or 70mm depending on the required distance from the edge of the door to the axis of the latch.
HOW TO REMOVE DOOR KNOB FOR EASY INSTALLATION
- Use provided tool to press the spring plate. Then pull the knob to release it.
- Install the knob base using provided mounting screws.
- Push the knob back until hear “click” sound from the spring plate snap into place.
NEW INSTALLATION STEPS
Step 1: For doors without handle hole, mark and drill by the template provided. Step 2: Insert latch to mark the rectangle shape of front plate. Then use chisel or router to remove 3mm (approx. 1/8″) deep on the edge of door. Step 3: Assemble the door handle with latch. Step 4: Place strike plate on the door frame to mark shape of it. A router is recommended to remove imm deep of material on the door frame for strike plate only installation. If planning to use plastic shell to cover rough cutting, please remove 2mm deep of material on the door frame.
