Manual Overview
This manual contains instructions for the setting up, use, and maintenance
of the steering wheel. The manual consists of several sections, each of which
deals with a series of topics divided into chapters and paragraphs.
Usage Limits and Technical Information
The steering wheel is intended for users who wish to install, configure,
use, and handle maintenance of Cube Controls steering wheels for the duration
of its technical life after its production and sale. In case of sale to any
third parties (sale, loan for use, or any other reason), all the documentation
must be handed over to the user along with the product. Before performing any
operation, it is compulsory to read the entire manual and have fully
understood the section related to the operations to be carried out. Cube
Controls Srl holds the property rights and copyrights on this user manual. It
is forbidden to hand over to third parties or reproduce this document, to use
or disclose its contents in any way to third parties without prior
authorization to do so by the manufacturer. Cube Controls Srl declares that
the information contained in this manual is in accordance with the technical
and safety specifications of the device to which the manual refers. A
certified copy of this manual is stored in the technical dossier kept by the
manufacturer. The manufacturer does not recognize any documentation that has
not been produced, disclosed, or distributed by the manufacturer itself or
authorized personnel.
Product Usage Instructions
HANDLING
Before handling and use of the device, it is important to assess a number of
factors. Please check and ensure the following:
- The user must avoid exposure to solvents, acids and water within the area of use and storage of the device. The user must also avoid direct exposure of the device to weathering agents, rain, moisture and other items containing liquid such as vape, cup and so forth. Only use the device indoors.
- Operating room temperature: 10°C to +40°C
- Storage room temperature: -30°C to +85°C
- Relative humidity conditions: MAX 80% non-condensing.
- Disconnect the USB cable from both sides if you will not use this product for long periods of time.
- All steering wheel screws are tightened with a tightening torque of 3.5 Nm.
Caution: do not use a tightening torque higher than 5 Nm.
TRANSPORT
The weight of the device is indicated in this manual and on the label attached
on the package. Due to its size and weight, it allows for manual handling by
one single user. Do not hold the device by the USB cable. This may
irreversibly damage the steering wheel.
INSTALLATION
The universal hub on the back of the wheel body allows the user to install
various adapters, or even connect it directly to your FFB base. Please refer
to your adapter or motor manufacturer to ensure compatibility with the
steering wheel.
CONFIGURATION
All devices are fully assembled and tested by the manufacturer before the
dispatch and delivery of the product. The product has been designed,
manufactured and tested to meet all specific standards (see Declaration of
Conformity), if configured correctly. If the configuration, use and/or
maintenance of the device is not performed correctly, this may cause
malfunctions during use or safety problems. Improper configuration and
maintenance will void the warranty terms.

THE DEVICE CAN ONLY BE STARTED AFTER IT HAS BEEN CONFIGURED CORRECTLY.
Checks and Operations Before Starting
Inspection for potential damage. Check the integrity of each individual
element and its components.
Notably, ensure that:
- the device shows no sign of significant damage, deformation or evidence of impact during transport;
- the USB connection input is not damaged;
- the equipment and accessories provided in the package are not damaged.
The minimum illuminance levels (from natural and/or artificial light) required in the area of configuration and use of the device are: 200 lux.
Reporting damages to Cube Controls Srls
If any damage or defect is found, consult the manufacturer before proceeding
with any operation.
Configuration procedure
To set up and operate the device please follow the procedure below:
USB Only steering wheels:
- Download the software to set up the device and the display.
- Plug the steering wheel into your PC with the provided Q-CONN and wait for your computer to recognize the Device.
- Turn on the steering wheel by clicking the on/off button on the back of the device
- Start the Cube Set proprietary app and check the various inputs
- Please refer to the user manual for more information about the software and configuration procedure.
USB/BLE steering wheels:
- Download the software to set up the device.
- Plug the steering wheel into your PC with the provided Q-CONN and wait for your computer to recognize the Device.
- Turn on the steering wheel by clicking the on/off button on the back of the device.
- Start the CubeSet proprietary app and check the various inputs.
- Please refer to the user manual for more information about the software and configuration procedure.
USB/BLE mode: on switching between modes
- Press and hold button 22 and turn on the steering wheel via the dedicated On/Off button on the backside of the wheel.
- Turning off the steering wheel and repeating the procedure will allow you to toggle between the two different connection modes.
- The device will always boot up to the latest connection method used.

Wireless Steering Wheels – Power and Battery
- To charge the battery plug the steering wheel into your PC by only using the provided cable. The device must be switched on while charging.
- Plug the USB cable into a charging system capable of supplying a voltage of 5 V D.C. 1 A.
- When the device needs recharging, the battery indicator LED turns yellow.
- The battery indicator LED will turn green once the battery is fully charged.
USE
Troubleshooting
If an unexpected or dangerous behavior should occur while powering on or
operating the steering wheel, please follow the procedure below:
- Turn it off.
- Turn the device on again.
- If the malfunction persists, unplug the power supply and contact the manufacturer’s technical assistance immediately.
Power On Procedure
To switch on the device please follow the procedure below:
- Turn on the steering wheel by pressing the power button on the back of the wheel body.
Operating Procedure
To operate the device please follow the procedure below:
- Install and start up the racing game on your PC to operate the steering wheel.
MAINTENANCE
Safety
Before preforming any maintenance operation, it is compulsory for the operator
to have read and fully understood the manual. All type of cleaning and
maintenance work must always be performed when the device is switched off and
has been disconnected from the power source (i.e. the USB cable must be
unplugged). When performing such intervention, carefully follow the
instructions in this manual. The minimum illuminance levels (from natural
and/or artificial light) required in the area where maintenance operation will
be performed are: 200 lux.
Besides the instructions contained in this manual, for all type of cleaning
and maintenance work must be respected the general safety rules and, where
applicable, any workplace safety regulations.
Periodic Maintenance
Periodically clean the device from dust and dirt that may have built up on the
external surface. If necessary, use a compressor to blow away the dust. Clean
only with a dry or slightly damp non-abrasive cloth. Do not use alcohol or any
strong solvent. Do not use abrasive sponges, chemical solvents or cleaning
agents. While cleaning, please protect the internal electric part from water.
Once a year it’s highly recommended to put a really small drop of lubricant
(sewing machine oil or similar) on the points where the lever body touches the
base of the shifter when pressed down. It is also recommended to put a small
drop of lubricant on the contact point of the stainless-steel pin. Do not use
any spray products such as WD40 or similar.
Update the software when a new version becomes available.

Exceptional Maintenance
Extraordinary maintenance is required in cases of breakage, unpredictable
accidents or inappropriate use of the device. These situations, which may
occur from time to time, are completely unpredictable and therefore it is
impossible to describe the appropriate intervention procedures. If exceptional
maintenance is required, consult Cube Controls’ technical assistance for
appropriate instructions on the situation. Any type of intervention must be
carried out by specialized and authorized personnel named by the manufacturer.
DECOMMISSIONING
Disabling the device
The device has been manufactured and build in accordance with the standard of
strength, durability and flexibility as it is intended to be used for many
years. At the end of its technical life, discard the device with due care. It
is required that the product must be decommissioned and then reduced in such a
way that it can no longer be used for the purposes for which it was designed
and built, while allowing the reuse of its raw materials, where possible.
Decommissioning procedures must be observed in all the following cases:
- Decommissioning of the device and storage in the warehouse.
- Permanent dismantling and disposal of the device.

Dismantling and Disposal
Reusing spare parts of the device for other purposes remains at the full
discretion of the user. The label displays the symbol indicated in Legislative
Decree no. 49 of 14 March 2014, which transposes Directive 2012/19/EU, which
regulates that customers and end-users in EU countries shall dispose of the
product in a specialized waste collection point for electronic and electrical
devices. Please refer to the Service Centre in your area for information about
the waste collection system.

WARRANTY
The conditions of warranty, listed in full in the purchase contract, are only applicable if the device is operated under the conditions of intended use. Except for the ordinary or exceptional maintenance operations described in the MAINTENANCE section and carried out with the indicated procedures all repairs or modifications to the device performed by the user or an unauthorized party will void the warranty. The warranty shall not extend to damages caused by inexperience or negligence in the use of the device, or by poor or omitted maintenance.
The products we sell are covered by warranty under the following conditions:
1| The warranty is valid for a period of 12 months or 24 months depending on
the type of buyer.

2| The Manufacturer assumes the obligation to replace, at its own discretion,
malfunctioning, faulty or incorrectly manufactured parts only after careful
inspection of said parts.
3| The cost of transport and/or shipment is always covered by the manufacturer
in the case of repairing or replacement of the product. The cost of transport
and/or shipment is always charged to the buyer in the case of incorrect use of
the warranty terms.
4| During the warranty period, any replaced products become the property of
the manufacturer
5| This warranty applies to original owner only who has complied with the
proper maintenance instructions contained in the manual. Our warranty
liability is not extended when the original owner transfers ownership of the
product or if any changes have been made to the product.
6| The warranty is not applicable in the event of damage resulting from
excessive stress; such as due to inappropriate operating methods, or use of
the product after the detection of an anomaly, or failure to comply with the
instructions for use and maintenance.
7| The manufacturer declines all liability for any difficulties that may arise
in the case of resale or use of the product abroad due to the regulations in
force in the country where the product was sold.
8| Proof of purchase (invoice, proof of payment) is required to administer
warranty claims on the product or part of it, otherwise the replacement will
be covered by the buyer.

Failure to comply with the procedures, warning and instruction of
configuration, use and maintenance of the device herein contained results in
the forfeiture of the warranty.
Safety Standards
During the connection and subsequent use of the device, malfunctions that may
not be covered by the documentation may occur. These situations can sometimes
be due by environmental factors or accidental failures and are considered to
be totally unexpected and not predictable by the manufacturer This manual must
be kept by the final user and/or authorized personnel entrusted with the use
and maintenance of the device. In case of deterioration or loss, the customer
can request a new and compliant copy. Always keep the user manual in a safe
and convenient place for future reference.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Cube Controls steering wheels are reproductions of real steering wheels
designed for simulation use only. This product is made of coated aluminium,
inclusive of all buttons and controls. There are several models available and
they are divided in categories: USB/BLE connectivity and USB only. USB/BLE can
connect to the PC via the Q-CONN magnetic cable or classic 4.0 Bluetooth
connectivity. USB only need necessarily the Q-CONN magnetic cable to be
connected to the PC.

Cube Controls steering wheels are reproductions of racing wheels intended for
use in driving and game simulators.
UNINTENDED USE
The device was designed and manufactured exclusively for the use set forth in
paragraphs: GENERAL DESCRIPTION and INTENDED USE, therefore it is absolutely
forbidden any other type of application and use.
In addition:
- It is strictly forbidden the use of the device with power supply system which are inappropriate or non-compliant with the standards.
- It is strictly forbidden to use the device for improper uses, different from those set forth by the manufacturer.
- It is forbidden any change or internal modification to product hardware or firmware.
The manufacturer declines all liability resulting from the reuse of any unit after its decommissioning.
