ROTFL reNOUNed The Ultimate Game of People Instruction Manual
The Ultimate Game of People, Places and Things!
reNOUNed is a hilarious game that combines improv, trivia and nostalgia, to
test your wit about everything People, Places and Things!
Objective
The objective of the game is to answer the prompts as best as you can, to earn the most crowns by the end of the game!
The Setup
- There are three decks of playing cards: People, Places and Things. While keeping each deck separate, open each deck, shuffle the cards well and place the decks next to each other.
- Download the reNOUNed App using the QR Code below and visit www.playrenouned.com/pages/how-to-play for a tutorial on how to use the app.
- Create two or more teams and create team names. We recommend having at least 2 players per team.
- Determine how many rounds will be played based upon the amount of players and how long you want to play. Use the table below as a guide:
5. Enter the team names and number of rounds to be played in the app.
6. Designate one player from each team to be a Clerk. The Clerk tracks the
number of crowns(points) earned per turn and controls the stopwatch on the
app. If it’s Team A’s turn, then Team B’s Clerk should be tracking their turn.
7. Choose a player from each team to play Rock, Paper, Scissors. Whoever wins
two rounds first, determines what team plays first and the order of the teams.

Playing the Game
- A player rolls the dice and selects the matching card.
- The player must immediately read the prompt on the card aloud for all teams to hear. The player must read the card as follows:
“Ask the player to your right 21 questions within 15, 30, or 45 seconds.”
3. Once the player finishes reading the prompt, the Clerk for the turn must
start the stopwatch immediately.
4. The player must answer the prompt on the card as best as they can to earn
the most crowns for their turn.
5. If the card reads to complete the prompt “within” a certain amount of
time, then the player must complete the prompt before time runs out. If the
card reads to complete the prompt “for” a certain amount of time, then the
player must continue performing the prompt until time is up.
6. Once time runs out, the Clerk must say out loud for everyone to hear,
“reNOUNed!” Then the Clerk must record the appropriate amount of crowns earned
for the turn in the app.
7. Then the next team plays and players on each team must continue to rotate
turns so that all team member’s get to play.
Earning the Crowns
1. Players earn crowns based upon the difficulty of the answers they achieve.
2. The amount of crowns earned are located to the left of the answers on the
card.
3. For this card, if a player names:
- Less than 15 cities, they receive zero crowns.
- 15 cities, they receive one crown.
- 16 – 19 cities, they receive one crown.
- 20 cities, they receive two crowns.
- 21 – 24 cities, they receive two crowns.
- 25+ cities, they receive three crowns.
4. There are 25, Concentration 64 cards per deck.
If a player selects this card, then they must play Concentration 64 with an
opposing player of their choice, following the prompt on the card. If the
player wins, their team receives three crowns. If the player loses, their team
receives zero crowns and the opposing team receives three crowns. Learn how to
play Concentration 64 at: www.playrenouned.com/pages/how-to-play
5. There are Bonus Crown cards within every deck, where a player can earn one
additional crown by recording their turn, posting it to a social media
platform(where @playreNOUNed has an account) and tagging @playreNOUNed. For
Bonus Crown cards, if a player receives zero crowns on their turn and they
still record their turn, post it to a social media platform and tag
@playreNOUNed, they still receive the one Bonus Crown.
6. If a player doesn’t want to play the card they chose, they can roll the
dice a second time during their turn and select another card to play. This
results in their team losing two crowns.
7. A player may skip their turn for any reason. If a player skips their turn,
their team loses three crowns and it’s the next team’s turn to play.
8. If a player rolls the dice a second time during their turn, then skips
their turn sequentially(6. & 7. during the same turn), then their team loses
five crowns.
Challenging Crowns
Any player can challenge the answer of another player for Trivia cards ONLY by saying, “I CHALLENGE YOUR CROWN!”, at the end of an opposing player’s turn. Trivia Style cards are labeled on the top of the card.
The challenging player must say why they think the answer(s) given is incorrect and must provide proof of why, using an online search engine, books, etc…
If the challenger is correct, their team receives two crowns and the team of the player who was challenged, loses all their crowns earned from the challenged turn. If the challenger is incorrect, their team loses two crowns and the team of the player who was challenged, receives two crowns in addition to the crowns they earned from their turn.
