TH55 Maintenance Heater

** This symbol indicates that this product must not be placed in general household waste. It should be sent to a separate recycling facility for recovery, check Local Authorities for details.
By responsible recycling and separating this product from other household waste it will help protect the environment and human health, as the volume of waste sent to incinerators or landfills will be reduced and natural resources conserved. Read all the instructions prior to use.
This item gets very hot: do not touch the tubular heater when it is switched on.
Do not cover the tubular heater as this will cause overheating.
Never place the tubular heater directly on the floor wxhout using the feet.
WARNING:** Check product before use: if cord is damaged. it must be replaced by the manufacturer if still under warranty. or a similar qualified person to avoid any hazards

Safety Regulations

During the first use the heater may emit a small amount of vapour which is perfectly normal. The reason for this is the heating wire element is coated with some lubricant oil during the production process. This will stop after approx. 5 minutes after the first use and is not a safety concern.

  • The tubular heater is not suitable for use outdoors in damp weather.
  • DO NOT cover the appliance or place material or garments on it, or obstruct the air circulation around this appliance, for example with curtains or furniture, as this could cause overheating and a fire risk.
  • Do not submerge into water.
  • Must be mounted in a suitable position.
  • Place in a safe place away from flammable objects, flammable liquids, or gases
  • Do not place the heater directly below the socket outlet.
  • Do not let the power cord overhang or touch the tube.
  • Switch off appliance when not in use.
  • Do not hold the tubular heater by the cord.
  • Do not use with extension cord.
  • Check heater regularly if using with a timer or any other device that switches the tubular heater on or off automatically.
  • If using a timer device, ensure it is correctly rated.
  • This leaflet should be retained for instructions on use.
  • Keep out of reach of children and animals – The product gets hot to touch and could cause harm.
  • Only use a fuse of the correct rating (see section 8)
  • This is not a toy.
  • WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED

Cleaning

Ensure product is unplugged from the mains. Ensure product is completely cold.
Wipe with a damp cloth, then finish by drying with a soft cloth. DO NOT use abrasive cleaning powders, clothes, or metal polishes on any part of the tubular heater as this will cause damage.

Thermal Cut-out

The appliance is fitted with a thermal cut-out. Once the tubular heater has cooled down it will re-set itself automatically. It will then switch on and off until the reason for overheating has been removed.

Fitting for tubular heater.

The tube heater must be mounted horizontally not vertically.

Tubular heater features

Power indicator, adjustable thermostat, thermal cut off.

Tubular Heater usage:

  • The heater is fitted with an adjustable thermostat which allows the user to control the heat output. In order to maintain a certain room temperature, set the controller to the maximum setting. Operate the appliance at full power until the required room temperature is reached. Turn back the thermostatic controller until the appliance switches off with an audible ‘click’. This temperature will then be regulated and kept at a constant level by the thermostat switching on and off automatically.
  • The heater is fitted with a safety device which will switch off the heater in case of accidental overheating.
  • To reset, turn down the heater switch for a few minutes to allow the unit to cool down.
  • Make sure that any causes of overheating such as obstructions are removed and plug the appliance in again.
  • Turn down the switch during summer months, when nobody is at home or heating is not required. Please turn down the switch until the light goes off.
  • Please note that the appliance can only be switched on when the thermostat setting is higher than the room temperature. At its lowest setting the heater will provide a level of protection against frost.

Warranty

This product is guaranteed under warranty and covers defects in material or workmanship from 1 year from date of purchase. The original bill of purchase (with purchase date) must be submitted.
The warranty will not apply in cases of:

  • Misuse: By non-compliance of the instructions.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Incorrect use, e.g., overloading, non-approved accessories, force or damaged caused by external forces.
  • If the plug has been tampered with or removed.
  • If the product has been partially or completely dismantled or interference by non-qualified persons.
