PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

Surface preparation notes

  • For best adhesion, surfaces must be clean, and dry, and dust, dirt, oils, or other foreign matter. Old finishes in poor condition must be removed. Do not use steel wool as rust may develop after the finish has been applied. Remove all sanding dust using a vacuum or cloth dampened with mineral spirits.
  • WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
  • TIP: If the surface of the substrate is very smooth (e.g. Marble, Glazed Ceramic Tile), please use the sander tool to rough up the surface for better adhesion of the paint.
  1. Surface Preparation
    • Our tools are custom-made for water-based paint and easy for novices to use.
  2. Protect surroundings
    • Use the provided plastic waterproof cloth and masking tape to protect the surrounding area during application to prevent paint from splattering onto nearby surfaces.
  3. Add hardener
    • Add the hardener (part B) to the ceramic tile paint (part A) and thoroughly mix them together. The mixed paint must be used within 12 hours after adding the hardener. Please note that the paint without the hardener can be stored for a long time. If you need to apply the paint multiple times, it is recommended to pour out the amount you need each time and add an equal amount of hardener. If the paint is too thick, you can add water to dilute it (less than 5%).
  4. Application
    • Wear gloves and use the roller and brush provided in the tool kit to apply at least 2 coats, with at least 2 hours between each coat. We recommend using the roller for flat surfaces and the brush for corners and gaps to achieve a smooth and even finish.
  5. Remove tape
    • After completing the application, wait at least 45 minutes before carefully removing the masking tape. When removing, use a knife to gently cut the tape, and pull it off at a 45-degree angle.
  6. Wait for drying
    • Allow the painted area to air dry for 48 hours before getting wet, and wait 7 days before using the painted area normally. (Do not scratch, scrape, or rub the painted surface during the drying period.)
  7. Clean up
    • After completing the work, please dispose of all unused materials and waste in a timely manner. Keep away from children, pets, and those sensitive to paint fumes; follow all city regulations and properly dispose of waste.
