Prox CR2032 PRD Battery will Last

Replacing a Prox PRD Battery

The Prox PRD battery will last up to a year.

You can purchase CR2032 batteries at retail stores, supermarkets, or pharmacies, or you can order them online from Amazon. We recommend the following brands:

Murata
Sony
Panasonic
Energizer

Note: If you replace your Prox PRD battery with a different battery than recommended, the battery life may vary.

You will need:

  • A new CR2032 battery
  • A dinner knife or flat-head screwdriver

Changing the battery

  1. Pop off the top cover by using the dinner knife (or flat-head screwdriver) and inserting the tip of the knife or screwdriver into the small slit near the king-ring area and carefully prying it open.

  2. Use the knife or screwdriver to remove the battery as shown below.

  3. Insert the new CR2032 battery completely into the battery slot with the positive (+) side of the battery facing up and visible.
CR2032 batteries with bitterant coatings might not work with the PRD, depending on the alignment of the coating in relation to the battery contacts.

  4. Place the cover back onto the PRD, making sure that all corners are fully snapped in.

IMPORTANT: The PRD will not function properly if the cover is not securely fastened.

  1. Once the new CR2032 battery is inserted and the cover is completely sealed, the PRD will automatically turn on and its default settings will be restored.

Battery Safety

  1. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Swallowing may lead to serious injury or death in as little as 2 hours due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the esophagus. If you suspect any swallowing, immediately take your child to the emergency room; have the doctor phone 800-498-8666 (the National Battery Ingestion Hotline). Inform them that the battery type swallowed is a CR2032 coin cell Lithium / Manganese Dioxide battery.
  2. Battery compartment design. To prevent children from removing batteries, the PRD was designed to allow access to the battery compartment only with a tool. Keep the batteries out of reach of small children and pets.
  3. Only replace the PRD battery with another CR2032 LiMnO2 battery. Using an improper battery may result in battery leakage, fire, or explosion.
  4. Do not crush or short the battery (at the positive and negative terminals). Do not expose the battery to fire, excessively high temperatures (not to exceed 200ºF), or submerge in water. This battery contains Lithium and Manganese, and doing so may result in battery leakage, fire, or explosion.

Don’t throw your old batteries away…recycle them

Batteries are considered hazardous waste in California when they are discarded. Help us and the environment eliminate excess waste and keep batteries out of landfills by recycling used and outdated batteries at your local e-waste center. This includes AA, AAA, C, D, button cell, 9 Volt, and all other batteries, both rechargeable and single-use. All batteries must be recycled or taken to a household hazardous waste disposal facility, a universal waste handler (e.g., storage facility or broker), or an authorized recycling facility. Some participating retail locations near you may also have e-recycling centers.
