HOW TO INSTALL IN NEW BUILDS

  1. Warning: To avoid fire, shock or death, turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse and test the power is off before continuing.

  2. Choose the location for the RP04.
The installation requires mounting the RP04 using floating clips mounted in each corner. You will need to select a wall location free from obstructions such as timber frames, metal wall straps etc., and please make sure there is no wall point back to back if installing into an internal wall location, as this will affect the available wall depth.

  3. Using the template provided, trace the cutout and then cut out the hole in the wall sheeting. Check for obstructions in the wall cavity to ensure the RP04 will fit in its location.

  4. Slide power point or alike through the back and or side (knock out side plate first if using) of the RP04 on an angle and push the housing into cut out until tight against the wall sheeting, if the existing wall plate is too large or cabling is too tight you may need to disconnect the cabling from the back of the wall plate and reconnect through the RP04.

  5. If the wall sheeting is of hard material, mark the locations of the top fins and the side fins and make small cuts until the plastic shroud is located firmly up against the wall sheeting.

  6. Insert the RP04 into the wall and secure it in place using the preinstalled floating clips, one in each corner.

  7. Position power points or alike into the housing, and using the 4 x 13mm screws provided, screw into the metal brackets to secure them in place.

  8. Clip on and press into place the RP04 cover. The RP04 and the wall are now ready to be painted if required.

HOW TO INSTALL IN EXISTING BUILDS

  1. Warning: To avoid fire, shock or death, turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse and test the power is off before continuing.

  2. Unscrew the existing point from the wall face and check for obstructions in the wall to ensure the recessed point will fit and on which side the stud or wall trimmer is located.

  3. Push the existing wall point back into the wall cavity through the existing stud bracket on an angle.

  4. Taking the RP04, locate the back of it over the existing wall cutout so that the existing bracket screw holes are visible through the rear of the RP04 screw points.

  5. Mark the top and underside of the housing from approximately the centre of the RP04 across to the side of the stud or trimmer.

  6. Proceed to cut approx. 2mm above the top line towards the stud until the stud is located. Cut approx.
2mm lower than the bottom line in the same direction until the stud is located.

  7. Place the cutout template provided over the wall sheeting from the located stud and across the direction of the two cuts and mark around the template.

  8. Continue cutting around the lines noticing that you are cutting around the existing bracket.

  9. Cut vertically down the side where the stud or trimmer is located and remove the wall sheeting.

  10. This will expose the existing bracket inside the wall cavity ready for removal, Pry the bracket off the stud or trimmer and discard.

  11. Continue with point 4 of “How to install into new builds”.

If installing more than one recessed point, ensure they are located more than 50mm apart vertically and/or horizontally.
Designed for 70mm and 90mm wall cavities.
Note: Screw length MUST NOT exceed 25mm
