Product Information
The 55300 is a 120V dimmer designed for dimmable LED, CFL, incandescent, and halogen lights. It can be used as a replacement for a standard light switch or a three-way lighting control.

- Halogen/Incandescent: 600W (with no tabs removed), 500W (with one side tab removed), 400W (with two side tabs removed)
- Dimmable LED/CFL: 200W (with no tabs removed), 200W (with one side tab removed), 200W (with two side tabs removed)
- Features:
- Rocker switch for ON/OFF control
- Slider for adjusting the light level
- Tuning dial for fine-tuning the lowest light level
- Green wire for grounding
Product Usage Instructions
- Installation Instructions:
- Before installing the dimmer, turn off the power at the circuit breaker.
- Wiring Directions:
- Connect the HOT wire to the BLACK wire on the switch.
- Connect the load wire to the uninsulated RED wire on the switch.
- If using the switch as a three-way, remove the insulating label from the red wire and connect EACH RED wire to separate TRAVELER wires.
- Connect the GROUND wire to the GREEN wire on the switch.
- Mount the dimmer to the box with the UP indicator pointing up.
- Turn on the Circuit Breaker.
- Dimmer Adjustment:
- Power the lights on by using the Rocker switch and move the dimmer’s slider down to the bottom.
- Fine Tuning: To achieve the lowest light level, turn the Tuning dial upwards or downwards until the desired level is reached. Do not overturn the dial as it will stop turning at the lowest or highest outputs.
- To verify the setting, turn the dimmer off and then back on. Repeat step 2 if all bulbs do not turn on.
- Turn the adjustment dial-up until all lights come on. Some dimmable CFLs and LEDs require at least two light bulbs to be installed or a total wattage of 10 watts on one lamp for proper operation.
- Tuning dial: UP=More Bright, DOWN=Less Bright
- Multigang Installation:
- When installing more than one control in the same wall box, it may be necessary to remove the side tabs before installing.
- Using pliers, bend each tab back and forth until they break off.
- The removal of tabs will reduce the maximum load capacity.
- Halogen/Incandescent:
- NO Tabs removed: 600W max
- 1 side removed: 500W max
- 2 sides removed: 400W max
- Dimmable LED/CFL:
- NO Tabs removed: 200W max
- 1 side removed: 200W max
- 2 sides removed: 200W max
- If you are using ONLY LED/CFL bulbs on ALL 55300 Dimmers, DO NOT USE this De-rating Chart. Follow the LED/CFL De-rating Chart provided separately.

DESCRIPTION/ FEATURES
The 55300 is an Incandescent/Halogen and dimmable LED & CFL Dimmer. This Dimmer is designed to replace a standard light switch, dimmer, or three-way lighting control (see 3-Way Wiring, Figure 2).
- Replace current light switch using the home’s existing wiring
- Slide dimmer and rocker switch turn lights on to a preset level
- Provides a wider dimming range for dimmable LED and CFL bulbs than standard incandescent dimmers
- Suitable for multi-gang installations
- Dim lighting for increased energy savings
- Adjustable sensitivity levels on the control slider.
- Designed for compatibility with most high-efficiency light bulbs.
WARNING
Turn the POWER OFF at the circuit breaker before installing the
Dimmer
- Read and understand these instructions before installing.
- This device is intended for installation following the National Electric Code and local regulations.
- It is recommended that a qualified electrician perform this installation.
- Make sure to turn off the circuit breaker or fuse(s) and make sure the power is off before wiring the device. Use copper wire only
NOTES:
- The dimmer can be used as a Single Pole or 3-way switch.
- Only one dimmer is needed for each 3-way application.
- For use with incandescent, halogen, dimmable CFL, and LED lights.
WIRING DIRECTIONS

Single-Pole Wiring
MULTIGANG INSTALLATION
When installing more than one control in the same wall box, it may be necessary to remove the side tabs before installing (see below). Using pliers, bend each tab back and forth until they break off. Repeat for each tab to be removed. Removal of tabs WILL REDUCE MAXIMUM LOAD CAPACITY.

If you are using ONLY LED/CFL bulbs on ALL 55300 Dimmers, DO NOT USE this De- rating Chart. Follow the LED/ CFL De-rating Chart.
DIMMER ADJUSTMENT
- Power the lights on by using the Rocker switch and move the dimmer’s slider down to the bottom.
- Fine Tuning: To achieve the lowest light level, turn the Tuning dial Upwards/
- Downwards until desired level is reached. (Note: DO NOT overturn. The Dial will stop turning at lowest/ highest outputs).
- To verify the setting, turn the dimmer off then back on. Repeat step 2 if all bulbs do not turn on.
- Turn adjustment dial Up until all lights come on. Some dimmable CFLs and LEDs require at least two light bulbs to be installed or 10 total wattage on one lamp for proper operation.
