Your AutoSky Wireless CarPlay Adapter can be paired with multiple iPhones, but it can only connect to one at a time, if you want to connect a new iPhone while the other one is nearby, please turn Off the WiFi and Bluetooth of the iPhone that is currently connected to pair the new one. By default, the system will connect back to the last iPhone you used iPhone.
How does it work?
- The AutoSky Wireless CarPlay Adapter uses a WiFi protocol to transform your Wired CarPlay to Wireless CarPlay, but the initial connection between your Phone and the Adapter its made through Bluetooth. After successful Bluetooth pairing, your iPhone’s WiFi will automatically connect to your Adapter’s WiFi, and disconnect the Bluetooth.
- For this reason no WiFi connection can be used while using Wireless CarPlay otherwise the connection will be lost. If there is any interference please disconnect from the interfering WiFi manually.
- Make sure your Bluetooth does not connect to other devices once the WiFi connection is established, even if the Adapter will not need it to work it may cause CarPlay sound to be unavailable so you may need to manually disconnect it or turn it Off.
Note : Once pairing is completed your Wireless CarPlay Adapter will only need WiFi to keep working, but you will need your Bluetooth On for future connections.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a password required for Bluetooth pairing?
No, you don’t need a password for Bluetooth pairing. Simply enable Bluetooth on your device and start the pairing process. Make sure your device has WiFi enabled and is not already connected to any other network before starting the pairing process.
What should I do if I can’t find the Adapter’s Bluetooth or WiFi?
If you have access to another iPhone, we recommend trying to connect the Wireless CarPlay Adapter to it for testing. If the Bluetooth or WiFi can’t be found on just one specific iPhone, try resetting the network and Bluetooth settings on that device and then restart it. If the same issue persists across different iPhones, it could indicate that your Adapter is defective. Please let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist you with a refund or a replacement.
Is it normal for the Wireless CarPlay Adapter indicator light to stay on after I’ve turned off the car?
Yes, it’s normal for the Wireless CarPlay Adapter indicator light to remain lit for a short time even after you’ve switched off the car. This occurs because the car’s power supply takes a moment to completely shut down. The good news is that the power usage during this time is very low, so it won’t drain your car’s battery.
Can I connect the Wireless CarPlay Adapter to multiple phones?
Yes, indeed! The Wireless CarPlay Adapter has the versatility to be paired with multiple phones. Nevertheless, it can maintain a connection with just one device at a time. If you wish to pair it with a different phone, please make sure to terminate the current connection first. Additionally, keep in mind that, by default, the Adapter’s Bluetooth system will automatically reconnect to the most recently used phone.
Troubleshooting Automatic Reconnection:
To enable the Adapter’s automatic connection function, some cars may require selecting “automatic connection” in the CarPlay settings.
Check your phone settings:
- Settings > WiFi > Ask to Join Networks select “Notify” Settings > WiFi > Auto-Join Hotspot: choose “Automatic” Settings > WiFi > i Click the icon next to “CarPlayBox_XXXX” > turn on “Auto-Join”
In other scenarios:
- Ensure that both the Bluetooth and WiFi functions of your phone are turned on, and Bluetooth is not in use when entering the car. Clear the pairing record, restart the phone, and re-pair the Adapter.
- Consider upgrading the firmware as a potential solution.
How to deal with frequent disconnections?
-
The Adapter relies on a WiFi connection to function optimally with your phone. Frequent disconnections are often caused by WiFi interference. If there are other WiFi devices in your car, like a
WiFi-enabled car camera, consider minimizing potential conflicts by giving priority to the Adapter’s WiFi network. -
You can address this problem by attempting to reset your mobile device’s WiFi network and updating the Adapter’s firmware. Keep in mind that resetting network settings will require you to re-enter passwords for previously connected networks.
-
To reset network settings, Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Is it normal for the audio and video to be out of sync when playing videos on the phone?
Indeed, this is quite normal, and it’s not an isolated problem with the Adapter. The Wireless CarPlay, including the original one installed in the car, may encounter an audio delay when playing videos. The reason behind this delay is the more complex transcoding process involved in video compared to standard audio files. Please rest assured that this issue is inherent to wireless CarPlay systems and not an anomaly with the Adapter.
Resolving Audio Issues : (No sound during calls or media playback, microphone not working properly, dealing with music interruptions and pauses, correcting abnormal voice behavior during calls….)
- Ensure that your phone’s Bluetooth is not connected to any other device. If it is, consider disregarding other auto-connected Bluetooth devices or directly turning off Bluetooth.
- Close background programs running on your phone while using the Wireless CarPlay Adapter. During a call, verify that your “Audio” output option is set to CarPlay.
- Note : Bluetooth is crucial for the initial pairing process of the Adapter. After successful pairing, it only needs WiFi to keep working. You can disable Bluetooth once paired, but remember to re-enable it for automatic reconnection when using the Adapter again.
CarPlay Not Starting or Device Incompatibility Prompted During Pairing…
- On the settings page (reffer to Firmware Update Section to Access)
- Tap on “Delay Start” > Adjust the seconds of the delay that better fit your car’s prefference, we recommend 10S or 15S.
- If the issue persists upgrade your AutoSky Wireless CarPlay Adapter.
Car Display Goes Black Post Pairing
- Make sure to keep WiFi turned on during the initial pairing.
- Bluetooth pairing will automatically connect WiFi to the Adapter.
- If the screen remains black, unplug the Wireless CarPlay Adapter, ignore it on your Bluetooth list, restart your iPhone, then reconnect the Adapter.
- If the issue persists, try updating the firmware.
