Enhanced Clear Scan Mode

Firmware Version 1.0.4.1 also includes improvements to Clear Scan shutter mode to help reduce or virtually eliminate the flickering caused by some LED walls.

Improved Face Detection
Firmware Version 1.0.4.1 further improves Face Detection AF in the EOS R5 C by making it possible to select a subject via the RF lens’ control ring or camera dial. This allows you to make adjustments without having to change the position of your hands or take your eyes away from the shot. The firmware also enables Head Detection allowing the EOS R5 C to detect a subject’s head even when looking backward, and changes the shape of the AF Frame based on the subject detected during tracking.

Waveform Monitor / Vector Scope

Firmware Version 1.0.4.1 provides the option to double the size of the on- screen waveform monitor and vector scope. It also adds the ability to adjust opacity (transparency) of these on-screen tools, making it easier to see and adjust exposure while shooting.

Adds Support for Cinema EOS, CINE-SERVO, & RF-S Lenses
With Firmware Version 1.0.4.1, the EOS R5 C now supports communication with the following lenses when using the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x: CN-E14-35MM T1.7 L S, CINE-SERVO 15-120mm T2.95-3.95 EF.

The firmware also adds communication for Canon’s RF-S lenses.

2X magnification when shooting in 8K MP4
With Firmware Version 1.0.4.1, the camera will now be able to perform a 2X magnification when shooting in 8K MP4 format, and let you switch between the left and right lens via the control dial. This helps you ensure that critical focus is achieved and that there are no slight discrepancies between the two individual lenses.

Power Save Mode during 4K shooting
Firmware 1.0.4.1 adds Power Saving Mode that extends recording time during 4K shooting.
