Introduction

Use this guide to assist with wearer set-up and operation of the SureTag.

SureTag will be worn for extended periods of time and eventually removed for charging using the SureTag Dock.

SureTag will be paired with a Smart Beacon or Smart ID prior to installation on the wearer.

Device Set-up

The SureTag will be assigned to the Smart Beacon – refer to the Eagle User Manual.

Assemble SureTag on the wearer!Info The device locking plates, wearer strap and measuring tool are provided in the Field Officer kit

• Place the two locking plates into the SureTag rear section clips
• Use the measuring tool to find the wearer ankle size

• Use the ankle size guide to select the strap most suitable for the wearer – the size for the device optical strap is marked on the clasp at the end of the strap

• Fit the optical strap into the SureTag at one side
• Wrap the strap with fitted SureTag around the ankle of the wearer
• Connect the free end of the strap into the SureTag to complete assembly
  !Info Listen for a clear ‘click’ to make sure that the optical strap securely engages inside the SureTag
  

Plug Smart Beacon into a mains socket or power source – the device will display the local time when started

• If the Smart Beacon is set to 12 hour time display the mode – P (pm) or A (am) – will be shown with the time

Active SureTag

Device alert and wearer curfew times will show on the Smart Beacon above the local time – the display will update when alerts are being reported – Smart Beacon symbols indicate active device status

• A closed home symbol will display when curfew times are active – this will issue a device alert – the wearer is required to be within the area set for curfew or should stay home
• A walking man symbol will display when no curfew is in effect – the wearer is free to go
• A plug symbol will show if the Smart Beacon is unplugged and using battery – the equipment should be plugged in
• A telephone symbol will show if a call is in progress or being initiated – incoming or outgoing

  !Info It can take up to 1 hour to display alert and curfew times on the Smart Beacon on connection or update from the Eagle system

Release SureTag

Release SureTag from wearer

• Open the Release Tool by pulling the handles out and position the open jaws centrally over the SureTag
• Close the tool firmly by squeezing the 2 handles. Noting the end with arrow symbol on the tool, gently pull the strap out from the SureTag device and release it from the wearer
• Open the tool again and remove the SureTag (with the strap still connected on one end)
• Re-fit the tool on the SureTag in the opposite direction and then remove the strap completely from the SureTag

Charge SureTag with the Charging dock

• Insert the USB A – C cable into the charging dock – and the other end into the USB Power Charger
• Fit the SureTag into the Charging dock
• Monitor the charging and completion on an external RF application – refer to the SureTag Monitoring guide
  !Info 3 hours is the maximum time required to fully charge the SureTag

Any Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help

The device has been evaluated to meet general RF exposure requirement. The device can be used in portable exposure condition without restriction.

This device complies with ISED’s licence-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.

This equipment complies with ISED radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment for portable use. End users must follow the specific operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. No changes shall be made to the equipment without the manufacturer’s permission as this may void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
