IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
Warning: This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized service personnel.
ELECTRICAL CORD
- a) A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- b) Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- c) If an extension cord is used,
- The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and
- The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel; in Latin America, by an authorized service center.
How to Use
This product is for household use only.
ATTACHING THE PLATES
- Important: This appliance must always be used with two plates securely attached.
- Caution: Attach grill plates when the appliance is cool.
- Securely attach the top grill plate using the release handles on each side. To secure the plate, press in on both release handles, set the plate on the grill, then release the handles.
- Securely attach the bottom grill plate or griddle/bake plate using the release handles as described in Step 1.
PREHEATING THE GRILL
- Close cover on grill.
- Unwind the cord and plug it into an outlet. The power indicator light turns on.
- Allow the grill to preheat (approximately 8 minutes) before grilling. When the selected temperature is reached, the READY indicator light turns on.
Note: The power indicator light will turn on and off during cooking to indicate your desired temperature is being maintained.
GRILLING

Using a pot holder, carefully open the preheated grill.

Carefully place foods to be cooked on the bottom plate. This grill accommodates up to 5 servings.
Note: Do not overload the grill. -
Close the cover.
Important: Do not leave the appliance unattended during use. -
Light pressure can be used on the handle to press and heat food to your liking.
Important: Do not use heavy pressure on the cover of the grill at any time. -
After selected time, there will be a signal bell and the food should be done. If you would prefer longer cooking, simply follow the steps beginning at step 3.

Once cooking is complete, carefully open the grill cover using a pot holder.

Remove cooked food using the plastic spatula provided.

When finished cooking unplug the appliance.
Important: Heat will continue to be ON if the appliance is unplugged. -
Allow liquid in the grease tray to cool before removing it from under the grill. Wash and dry after each use.
Care and Cleaning
Caution: To avoid accidental burns, allow your grill to cool completely.
- Before cleaning turn off the grill unplug it from the wall outlet and allow it to cool.
- Empty the grease tray and clean it with warm, soapy water. Wipe dry.
- To remove the plates, press the release handles on both sides of the plates and remove them from the grill. The plates can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand with hot, soapy water; always dry the plates thoroughly before reattaching.
- Wipe the outside of the unit with a warm, wet sponge. Dry with a soft, dry cloth.
- DO NOT use steel wool, scouring pads, or abrasive cleaners on any part of the grill.
- DO NOT immerse in water or any other liquid.
- Make sure to hold the lid open by hand while cleaning to prevent accidental closing and injury.
- Any servicing requiring disassembly other than the above cleaning must be performed by a qualified service personnel.
