This product is for household use only.
GETTING STARTED
- Remove all packing material, any stickers, and the plastic band around the power plug.
- Remove and save literature.
- Please visit www.prodprotect.com/georgeforeman to register your warranty.
BEFORE FIRST USE
-
Wash grill plate, drip tray, and base in warm water and dish soap. Dry thoroughly. Do not get the probe wet.
Note: When using the grill for the first time, you may notice smoke or a slight odor during the first few minutes if there is still oil on the plates from the manufacturing process. This is normal.
Caution: Control probe must always be completely dry before use. -
Place drip tray into base. (A)
-
Fit the grill plate onto the base. It only fits with the curved end of the grill plate over the curved
-
indentation of the base. (B)
TO OPERATE
- Insert control probe into probe socket (C) and plug the cord into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn the heat setting to the desired setting. See Cooking Guide for suggestions. The signal light will come on to indicate the unit is heating.
- When the signal light goes out, the unit is ready.
- Signal light will cycle on and off during cooking as the unit operates to maintain the desired temperature.
Tips
- To avoid damaging the nonstick surface, do not use aerosol nonstick spray, sharp utensils or cut food on the cooking surface of the unit. Use silicone, heat resistant rubber or wooden utensils.
Caution
- Because some countertop finishes are more affected by heat than others, use care not to place grill on surfaces where heat may cause a problem.
- Grill surface is hot during use.
- Do not use the grill without the drip tray or base.
COOKING GUIDE
The following chart is meant to be used as a guideline only. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the food. Bratwursts (brats)| High| 25-30 minutes| This is the cook time for raw brats.
If you first boil the brats in water (or beer) for 12 minutes, you can reduce
the grill time to 5-10 minutes.
Hamburgers (4 oz)- cooked to 140F| High| 6-12 minutes| Time varies due to
thickness of the hamburger and your preferred level of doneness.
Steaks (12 oz)| High| 8-15 minutes| Time varies due to the
thickness of the steak and your preferred level of doneness.
Salmon (6 oz)| High| 13-20 minutes| Time varies due to the thickness of the
salmon.
Pork Chops (8 oz): Thick cut ribeye| High| 10-25 minutes| Time varies due to
the thickness of the pork chop.
Chicken breast (6oz)| High| 15-25 minutes| Time varies due to the thickness of
the chicken breast.
Vegetables
(zucchini, yellow squash, red onions, and bell peppers)
| Medium or High| 6-12 minutes| Time varies due to thickness of the vegetable
slices.
Warming
hamburger or hotdog buns
| Low or Medium| 4-6 minutes| Open and flatten buns. Turn to warm both sides halfway through the time.
